It's not recommended to mine Bitcoins on a CPU or GPU, but if you have free electricity then go ahead.
However, you're FAR better off mining altcoin like Ethereum or Zcash.

Showing up as Generic can be normal depending on the monitor, displays don't need drivers for normal operations it's a standardized plug-and-play (PnP) system, so it's not necessary for monitors to have their name etc. detectable, it's optional. I was just wondering if the other two monitors did show up and one didn't, it could mean a problem with the handshake/detection of the monitor, but it sounds like it's normal for it to be detected as generic, so... hard to tell anything from that.
 
If switching the cables doesn't help, I'm not sure what else there is to try, you may have to have the monitor replaced.

Of course they'll have USB 3.1, since USB 3.0 has already been renamed USB 3.1 Gen1. More importantly, bear in mind Intel motherboards have USB 3.1 Gen2 even though the Intel chipsets don't have it. Same with Thunderbolt 3.
 
These things are added with secondary controllers, and motherboard manufacturers can add those to AMD boards the same way they add them to Intel boards.
Yeah just like the x86-64 ISA is AMD technology, Intel certainly can't have that...

You might as well wait. The only thing you really have to lose is a little time with a new computer.

Assuming the release date is true, I would say that anything that could make AMD competitive again with Intel, or at least give Intel a "wake-up call" is worth waiting for. So even if you don't think Ryzen is worth it, but drives Intel to lower prices and increase CPU performance tangibly on the architecture side, I would say that's worth it.

I can't see Intel lowering their prices for at least a few months. It would be too much of a knee-jerk reaction. They'll likely wait to see how much they lose in sales after the initial adopters make their purchases. They're still seen as the premium offering, AMD has everything to prove.

The release date is a rumor, but supposedly it'll release on March 2nd.  Lots of sources have leaked this.  Ryzen is definitely worth waiting for -- 10 days for more choice in your CPU can't be a bad thing.

The point is, Ryzen can be worth waiting for, for everyone. I didn't say when Intel would lower their prices, or that they would inherently. I'm merely suggesting Intel's possible responses, especially if Ryzen sees a high adoption rate almost immediately. 

The way you phrased it made it sound like waiting for Ryzen would see an almost instant drop in Intel pricing, it being a reason to wait for it. I agree, there's nothing to lose by waiting. Intel would be foolish to see an immediate high adoption rate as reason to panic, as there are tons of AMD fans that have been waiting for something like this and they will make their AMD purchase regardless of what Intel does with their pricing.

I didn't say you needed a high end GPU, I said the appropriate GPU.

GOD YES, I AM SOOOO HYPED. 
I know it's not healthy to be this hyped about anything, but the posibility of buying an octacore with nice IPC for what you'd pay for a mainstream i7 or a hexacore for what you'd pay for an i5 is either too exiting or too good to be true. I'm hoping for the former with all my heart though. 

Ryzen is worth waiting for because that will definitely force intel to produce better CPU's if ryzen is good. It gives you more options. if you think it won't be good because you are an intel fan boy then get a intel CPU now but i would advise you just wait for ryzen if you want more options for PC parts.

Pretty sure the 1050 will have better compatibility with most of the programs you use.
