  1. Yeah I found each of them used for 50 leaning to the corsair 380t
  2. Hey guys I wanted your inputs on a couple cases for the m itx platform. What are your thoughrts on the bitfenix portal, corsair 380t, and the lian li g37? Thanks
  3. The i7 8550u is actually quite powerful (4 cores, hyperthreading, and up to 4ghz
  4. Yeah I would love to see what amd has coming up. Maybe an rx 680 is in order
  5. I’m really excited to see more laptops like the gigabyte aero 15. I wanna see a bezelless screen geared to the higher end with less gamer aesthetic. I’m excited to see the price to performance gains with the new i7 8550u and Volta coming soon. Would love to see a reasonably priced, thin, bezelless 1080p i7 8550u with great battery life and cooling (helped by the 15w nature of the cpu) with a Volta equivalen to the 1060 (a 1080p beast). What are you guys excited to see in 2018?
  6. A quick YouTube tutorial should be all you need. Must not be anything more than a couple of Philips head screws. Also you might want to look into the amazon one to see if you can price match it, might be a viable option. Also you mentioned that you had an ultrawide and preferred that. If it's a 1080p ultrawide you could hook up your laptop to it as a display. A Gtx 1060 can handle it. If it's a 1440p one then I would opt for a Gtx 1070
  7. Btw I'm in the used market and found a steal for an x99 at 90$ which I might be getting for 70$ and an i7 6800k for 300 which I will also be able to haggle be cause of his openness to negotiations.
  8. In what sense does it overclock better? What I mean by this is what's better? Is it the max overclock, thermals, lowest voltages? I'm just curious because I won't be pushing this system too hard so I don't need an overclock of say 5ghz I think I'll try to go for something like 4ghz -4.3ghz. I will most likely use an h90 or a 240mm aio.
  9. I'm pretty sure that the pascal GPUs in laptops are desktop equivalents and the Gtx 1060 does really well at 60fps 1080p gaming. I also think that at the size of a laptop 1080p is very reasonable for a resolution. Like I said the 1060 is great for 60 fps on the high end games so unless you're into say more esport games where they are easier to run and for higher level play require every advantage possible I would stick with 60hz. Also I'm not entirely sure but I'm pretty sure the Gtx 1070 performs better than fury so I would make your desktop obsolete in a way for gaming. Obviously this is just my opinion and I respect those of the other members of this forum. Hope you have an amazing day and are satisfied with the purchase you make
  10. Do you guys think you could explain the differences between the i7 5820k and the 6800k? I intend to do some overclocking but I'm not going to be doing anything extreme and pushing it to its limits. Still I would be nice to know more details because if the 5820k can get away with a lower voltage at the same clock speed then I might look into it for longevity reasons. The again the broadwell e chips are newer and would be easier to sell later on. Which one do you think has a better value?

  12. The tuf board has just gone down to 120$
  13. Found a cheap x99s sli plus from msi for 90$ and could probably haggle the guy a bit as well as an i7 6800k for 300 but could probably haggle quite a bit. I also found a z170a from asks for 125$ (can also haggle) and a z170 tuf s for 130$ like I said before I could probably haggle him. There was also an i5 6600k for 150. Which should I go for? Clock for clock do they perform the same in games? I'll be editing and gaming.
  14. Yeah but it can overclock like a beast
