One Solution is if you wanna have just one cable is to have a PCIE Thunderbolt Card which accepts a HDMI or Display port in you could then run this set up ot your desk and then output the video again and also pass the Thunderbolt adapter for USB needs. Also I'd recommend using wireless keyboard and mouse to make life easier in general with this solution

Other solution if you can get away with just a keyboard, mouse and monitor you could get a Wireless HDMI Adapter to send it from your PC to your monitor and use wireless keyboard and Mouse, but don't expect good framerates or resolution with this

grimreeper132 got a reaction from -rascal- in Broken pins on a R7 3800X, is it safe to use
I think he bent the 2 pins, and they touched, I dunno, I didn't do it, but it was the VSS/GND and VDDCR_SOC pins that were touching and I think he realised he fucked up when he turned it on and they shorted.... I could be wrong

Theoretically, if there is no internal damge it will be fine....

I mean if you look hard enough you can find a reddit post about it, as I mentioned in my post it was the VSS/GND and VDDCR_SOC pins, with alternatives next to them so theoretically it was fine

I think thats the plan if he doesn't want it, as you know, I do have 32Gb of RAM, an old PSU and a dodgy GPU and/or a graphics adapter (saying that second GPU is a GPU is an insult to GPUs, it's about 12 year old now) lying around so yea, might try that..... not trying it on any of my good hardware though, I aint damaging my good desktop.... dorta hoping he doesn't want it so I can do this now as I get to keep it if he doesn't want it after this

That sounds like a plan.... apart from the giving to you part.... might make it for myself, to continue the outnumbering of keychain dogles compared to keys, its currently 6 to 2... we need to improve that

We haven't heard anothing about the 2660 ti, this time around, we are still unsure if its all going to be RTX or if there will be able GTX.but as for the RTX 3060 ti, romours are saying in December at somepoint, but this is hard to say, especially with nVidias supply issues at the moment this might be pushed back to January, weh it will be easier for them to get stock as the Christmas rush is over

The Lenovo has a better CPU, so if your just needing CPU power go for that, it will do webrowsing and light gaming etc just fine, as well as do some CPU heavy tasks as well. The Acer one if you need a gaming laptop or need a GPU for whatever work you do. From what you've said though Lenovo will be fine, as long as you are streaming non gaming stuff and what you are doing isn't something that requires GPU, like if its just cameras for you chatting or something like that your good

Ok so if your willing to spend a little bit of money, this is a tricky one 2000 Series is going really cheap as people are getting too hype for 3000 Series (which is why I sorta want it to be a bit of a let down because I just want to see the out roar) but if its not quite as good as people are expecting 2000 Series price might go up or if it is as good the second hand 2000 Series might go down further. In the end I would wait because I recon it will stay the same or be the latter but I would say maybe even look at the 1000 Series as the diffrence between 1000 and 2000 is very small and you might get a 1000 for cheaper.

Linux is open source and free so no activation etc unless you go with very specific versions for enterprise etc. As for the components you'll be fine Linux runs on pretty much anything.... apart from macs from what I remember because Appple.

    Quick Disclamier
This is a rumour because the main source here is the Daily Mail (who have "sources" none of which are public) and all other sources I have checked pretty much use the Daily Mail as their main source meaning take this with a pinch of salt, I also can't find any information abrout it on the BBC website itself.

As the title says the BBC designing an alternative voice-Activated Assistant called "Auntie" (The name is going to change on release I believe.... luckily)
    [1]
So the goal from the sounds of the goal here the assistant would have similar if not the same permissions, abilities and controls to the 3 main assistants at the moment and seams to be (at least initally) UK only, but I can see it being expanded to include other countries if it is a successful project which people start using.

    [1]
I am ok with the BBC creatign their own version of the smart speaker with "auntie" (that name just keeps getting worse) but I have a feeling that if the BBC does this by regulatory restaint that the end result could be that the implimentation of their new assistant will not be particularly good.

Overall I think if this is real and is happening this is a good thing as it means that there is an alternative to tech giants which has a good trusted reputaion (in general), who I have a feeling will give you almost if not full control over what data is sent to them (although that could turn out to be false) I personally would trust the BBC over google, apple or amazon and I personally don't use these devices but I think that if the BBC creates this and it is both popular and not completely useless it might be successful. Especially if it can understand the Scots.

Also side note, if this is real what should the BBC call the assistant, and apart from "Daddy" is their any names which are worse than "Auntie" for an assistant?

The list is below. The parts in this list are pretty much just as good (motherboards ever so slightly worse but nothing in a meaningful way. the ram is the same just cheaper pretty much and by using a stock cooler your saving $90 enabling most of this)

That was when it first launched you should be fine now (and hell if your not it will be replaced by your warranty) also it wasn't every card that was affect only a few so you'd just be unlucky to get one that did even if the problem still fully existed

    Changes
CPU Cooler same teir of CPU cooler on the performance tier just  cheaper
CPU change (2600 is a 2600X pretty much not worth the extra $35)
Found pretty much the same ram for cheaper and it's black not blue so doesn't stand out as much (might matter to you might not))
using RTX 2070 now not 2060 will affect gaming performance and is worth some of the other minor sacrifices

Forgot the 2600 has a good stock cooler if your not overclocking use that instead saving you $40 which could be used for pocket change or 2700 (would put you $20 over if you did that though but that comes with a cooler and extra 2 cores are nice to have)

grimreeper132 got a reaction from Atharva Phadke in Replace Phone LCD to OLED??
Maybe, but it is not recomended.

But if you do do it, and the the phone does not officially support the OLED diplay, there is five posible outputs I can forsee
    1) The wiring between the two screens are significantly diffrent so that everything breakes/blows up/released their magic blue smoke and dies
    2) The wiring is diffrent and it doesn't work but your phones a soilder and powers through letting you swap back to your old screen
    3) The wirings are diffrent but not massively so it works but it looks worse or operation is not as expected and it's not a good experience and you wish you had your old LCD back
    4) The Wirings are diffrent but to an extent that the experience is the same as the LCD so nothing is gained
    5) The wiring and software support the new OLED and you now have an OLED phone which works perfectly.

1 or 2 is the most likely. And all of this is assuming that the data/power connectors are the same, the impedance of the new screen is similar enough not to cause over current, you can find a screen which is has the same mounting points and is the same size.

    TL:DR Don't do it
