Hello,
recently I purchased a new laptop GP72 6QF Leopard Pro from MSI. I noticed that when I plug in my headphones I get a lot a buzzing sound, especially when I am listening to two sources of sound at once (for ex. music from Youtube while playing a game, or listening to Twitch while playing a game). When I tried looking into possible causes, I noticed no Headphones tab shows up in my Playback devices and my headphones are managed through the Speakers tab, too. I am not sure whether this is the cause of the issue, but I did notice that when there is a commercial in the middle of a Youtube video, the sound switches to laptop speaker for a brief moment, indicating there is some sort of an issue with sound device recognition.
I tested the headphones (Marshall Major) on my MP3 player and they work perfectly there.
I am running the Realtek audio driver as well as an MSI pre-installed application called Nahimic 2. Both are up-to-date.
The Realtek Audio Manager asks me what kind of sound device I plugged in every time I do, but regardless of whether I choose Headphones or Speakers nothing changes.
When I open the Realtek audio manager, I can only see a Speakers tab.
In the Playback devices Headphones are nowhere to be found, not in disabled devices either.
When I go to Device Manager and to the Audio inputs and outputs tab, I can see Microphone and Speakers but no Headphones.
I checked my roommate's laptop and noticed he also on has the Speakers tab in his Playback devices, but he has apparently encountered no issues, so I am really at a loss what might be causing the issues.
I will appreciate any ideas for a solution. Thank You for your time.
