SpookyIsReal's Achievements

  1. An app I use is google keep, it's icon is a light bulb and you can do a sorts of things like set reminders, make to do lists, sync with google accounts. And not that this is anything ground breaking but you can even make a home screen widget that shows all of the things you pin on your home screen!
  2. I was wondering if there is going to be any talk about turning this website into an app, because it could be loaded with cool features like app notifications instead of browser notifications that may or may not be sent out, assuming the people who more often use the forum are in their phone's browser.
  3. So, I wanted to know if there is, were, or will be any linustechtips or techquickie lanyards to be made. Also, if the wanshow hoodie will get another round in the light.
  4. the fan is always spinning in the laptop. It kicks up quite a bit under stress, but runs fairly quiet at idle. For your desktop, maybe do the same, clean vents, reapply paste?
  5. Already done, clean those quite frequently. The cpu is located around the middle of the board, but the heatsink transfers out of the left side about 2 inches up from the cpu
  6. Hello LTT forum, Firstly, I would like to apologize if i'm doing anything wrong & should've put this somewhere else, no idea how this site works, (new user). Anyway, I have a Dell Latitude E5420, a 2011 model laptop with a i5-2410m that would occasionally shut down due to overheating. I've cleaned the cpu & heatsink of old thermal paste & reapplied the paste. I had made a very bad mistake of not testing thermals before I had done the operation. But it was a decent bit hotter than after. But at idle it sits around 50-59C, Adequate use (browsing the internet, youtube, twitter, etc) around 57-57C & Full load tops at 70C. Could anyone please tell me if this is bad, good, or decent thermals keeping in mind all it is is a business laptop from 2011. Thank you, Ariel
