  1. I've been using a lot of 3D softwares (3ds max, maya, cinema4d, blender, solidworks, autocad, microstation, keyshot) and After Effect/Premiere as well, and I can safely say that it's gonna be CPU only 80% of the time. Especially with consumer grade hardware. Only a few rendering engine use openCL/CUDA, and you need a workstation grade card anyway, sometimes you can hack it, like with After Effect/Premiere, but even then, it'll only be used for specific effects/filters. But when you want to setup a workflow, you don't just go "I'll use my GPU or CPU to render", you read a lot about the specific tools you're gonna use, and the certified drivers that go along with them. And then only you pick the hardware that'll suit your needs. For example someone rendering his CAD design work with Keyhsot or Bunkspeed won't get the same hardware as someone who does video editing. Well that's just my 2 cents on the topic
  2. It's a modded HUD2.0, with added readings, nothing fancy, I just like monitoring my stuff.

    My Setup

  4. - I killed my first desktop PC by punching it, after a lost Urban Terror game. - I killed a mobo by rubbing it with my bare hand to clean it (I was 11, and got a new one under warranty)
  5. If you don't want cc or element, there's just CS6 left, it's the last offline version, but I don't know if they still sell it.
  6. Borderlands's opening :
  7. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pB63r8nJaII https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WJDrXiMVndw Some of my all time favourites. I'd like to post more, but it could be a VERY long post . Maybe later.
  8. Not really, I just install the very minimum in the case : Mobo with 2 screws, 1 ram stick, CPU cooler. If I can, I keep the power supply outside for the test. This way if there's a problem it takes seconds to get it out, and if it's fine, part of the job is already done.
  9. Well, well, well... On a more serious note, I don't really see the point of that case. I mean, the point of the mITX form factor is to allow smaller desktop computers. And to me, on a desk, horizontal space is more valuable than vertical space, but this case, just like the prodigy, is wider than most ATX case.
  10. It was my first game too, but on Master System 1, it was installed on the console, you just had to start it without a cartridge.
  11. You mean LAN? Or just fun to play with friends? If LAN, Urban Terror, Diablo 2, Command & Conquer, Minecraft (needs someone to host a server), Warcraft 3, Trackmania. If just multiplayer, uh, anything you fancy?
  12. I've read that on every forum I've been on. And it's totally natural to have that feeling imo, but that's how forums work, live and prevail, new members arrive (fortunately), and some leave (sometimes it's for the best, sometimes not). Sometimes there's a "oldfag core" that remains, but they don't always incarnate the best aspect of a forum. Being here since the beginning (though I don't post that much, I'm more of a lurker), I think the forum is doing pretty fine so far, and there's still so much to do.
  13. They've done a great job, I don't even know how they manage to keep up with the amount of work on their shoulder, kudos. The only thing missing until now is a bit of vlog material, I hope there'll be some.
  14. I played a few hours today. Well the only good thing is : it makes me want to play skyrim again.
  15. Am I the only one thinking it depends on the music genre? For heavy metal and casual pop music I don't really care, Natalie Imbruglia sounds just fine at 128k . But for minimal electro like Trentemoller, Ludique or Extrawelt, with crisp sounds and lots of details, 320k is needed. It's the same analogy for movies, a master piece like "The Man From Earth" is okay at VGA resolution, because everything is in the dialogs, the imagination does the rest , but for a Pacific Rim a high bitrate 1080p encoding is necessary.
