  1. To be more precise maybe, If it was possible to work on unity and unreal on a Macbook Pro (M1 chip), I would have bought that. But it's just not an option for what I do.
  2. Hello & Thank you for reading! I'm looking for a laptop with these preferences in mind: (In France, price range 800-1000euro give or take) Good screen Nice feel to write, good trackpad Beefy CPU Slim I will be testing games, BUT, I don't need a GPU and I will explain why. I'm a video game designer, most of my work is on Unity and Unreal Engine (4/5). I already have a beefy Desktop at home. But, I need to buy a laptop to work from a distance. I tried taking an old laptop and connecting via TeamViewer to my PC, but since I have to test the games i'm working on, it's shit. BUT! <--- Unlike most people that need a gaming laptop to play games, I on the other hand do not need a GPU to run graphics because I can just disable lighting and post processing. (so my pc doesn't need to compute the graphics when I test the game. Just mechanics, systems and AI which are all done on the CPU) SO! <--- I need a laptop with a beefy CPU, and I don't mind not having a GPU. I prefer sacrificing my GPU for a slim product that I can take with me anywhere to work on documentation freely and without having to train my lower back just to carry it in my backpack. (PS: I train my lower back anyways haha) Well, I hope this riddles you and motivates you to help me find my dream product, I personally am no longer in touch with the latest tech. So thank you in advance for your time.. PEACE!
  3. And my most important question is would the G.Skill work with the 6800k?
  4. @Starelementpoke Any idea which mobo would fit and be cheaper? without compromising on the quality
  5. hahah didn't notice that i had empty space and nope i cant buy from the US cuz im not the one traveling but a relative so i bought the small stuff that they can carry without bothering them. And yes thats the dream monitor something like the predator but too bad i dont have that much money :\ anything cheaper in mind?
  6. Hello, I am moving to Paris in a month from now to study Video game design and i will need to have a good pc to play the new game titles and be able to work using 3D softwares and game engines. So i will be ordering my parts from https://www.amazon.fr/ To save money on my build i already bought the i7 6800k for 440$ and the Samsung 950 pro (256GB M.2) for 198$ and will be shipping them with a relative soon. (sorry in advance some of the prices will be in Euro) So i am already stuck with the X99 chipset & LGA 2011-3 + the presence of an x4 M.2 slot. And on top of that i would like to have a board that supports up to 128GB of ram and of course 2 way-SLI. My budget is not limited to a defined number but i would like to stay below 4000$ (Including Monitor) CPU: i7 6800k [Q: it says it only supports 2400MHz Ram, Is that true? or can i buy the G.Skill TridZ K2 DDr4 3200MHz CL14 (2x16=32GB)?] Cooler: BeQuiet Dark Rock 3 RAM: G.Skill TridZ EUR 245,84 OR Corsair Dominator Platinum 2400MHz CL10 (4x8=32GB) EUR 312,90 OR a HyperX FURY (4x8=32GB) or Corsair Vengeance (4x8=32GB) ~EUR 190 MOBO: ASUS x99-A II EUR 289 OR ASUS x99-E EUR 255 [The difference is that the X99-A has 2x3.1 USB (1xType-c) which i think ill need in the future AND i dont mind MSI boards ..etc i just didnt find those specs not sure but i am not willing to go up to 300EUR on the board (Hens why i dont want to go up to 300EUR on the RAMs) ALL i care about is the support of M.2, 128GB or RAM, 3.1USB 2-way SLI, (IF you think that 128GB of ram is useless and that you have a 64GB mobo that u think fits perfectly please share ur knowledge, im flexible but nothing beyond 300EUR) GPU: ASUS Strix GTX 1080 EUR 799 (this one is the cheapest in the series and one that i like, also flexible for prepositions but keep in mind prices change on Amazon.fr) PSU: Seasonic p-860 EUR 207 (I like this one for its silent option, 7 years Warranty and relatively cheap price) CASE: CoolerMaster Maker 5 EUR 199 (because i like it, it would fit everything and its modular and i dont accept a case without a basement .. i just like it ) STORAGE: Samsung 950 Pro 256GB M.2 & 4TB Seagate HDD PERIPHERALS: Keyboard: Corsair K65 EUR 70 Mouse: Logitech G502 Pad: Perixx Gaming-Mauspad DX-2000XXL (Please recommend me a mouse pad with the dimensions of around 90x40x0.3cm cuz i know nothing about them i like it to be smooth/soft not sure the Perixx is like that but the dimensions is what im looking for) Monitor: Haven't decided yet, BUT 21:9 is a must! i would like to have a 21:9 3440x1440 not the 2560x1080, the presence of G-Sync is gonna cost me a lot above 1000EUR which i dont have i dont want to go beyond 800EUR therefor i was thinking https://goo.gl/fMvbGN (LG 34UM88-P) OR LG 34UM95 34" https://goo.gl/p4dETO Please feel free to recommend any item to replace any of the above, any alternatives i would be pleased to read. I really need help with the MOBO, RAM and the MONITOR! Thank you.
  7. Hello, I have been gathering information to build a gaming and creative work PC, and i came up with this build so far: CPU: Intel® Core™ i7-6700K Processor (8M Cache, up to 4.20 GHz) http://ark.intel.com/products/88195/Intel-Core-i7-6700K-Processor-8M-Cache-up-to-4_20-GHz MotherB: MSI Z170a tomahawk AC, DDR4 http://www.msi.com/product/motherboard/Z170A-TOMAHAWK-AC.html#hero-specification GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GD5T OC Armor 2x https://www.msi.com/product/graphics-card/GTX-980-Ti-6GD5T-OC.html#hero-specification CPU Cooler: Corsair Hydro Series H60 (120mm fan)x1 http://www.corsair.com/en-us/hydro-series-h60-cpu-cooler RAM: Kingston Desktop DDR4 8gb KVR21N15D8/8 (x2) http://www.kingston.com/dataSheets/KVR21N15D8_8.pdf Case: Master Cooler Pro 5 (3x fans 120mm) Storage: Transcend SSD 2.5 256GB & 2TB HDD DVD: DVDwrite 24x Sata Now after calculating my PC's Consumption online http://outervision.com/b/PJjx3L getting a 750W PSU is not a bad idea, although i know that with an 850W it allows me to have an upgrade path towards and SLI .. BUT, i live in a country where we experience power-cuts everyday therefore having a UPS is a must. A 1200Va UPS is affordable at around 150$ and a 1400Va+ UPS is much more expensive. Therefore my choice for the 750W is justified. (not 600W, which will be caused to run at maximum capacity). But my supplier's "Engineer" recommended the 1000W PSU saying that this GPU requires 600W minimum (written on the back of the box) also here https://www.msi.com/product/graphics-card/GTX-980-Ti-6GD5T-OC.html#hero-specification. Under the recommended PSU (W) So my question is "Does this GPU run at 250W? or is there anything i dont know about Wattage calculations? while at it which PSU do you recommend and why" Thank you in advance!
