first of all you need ddr4 ram. You have listed here ddr3. I would recommend at bare minimum 8gb but 16gb if you can spare it. Ryzen prefers fast ram as well so the faster you can get the better. Your CPU already comes with a CPU cooler so there is no need to get a different one especially when on such a tight budget. Get a ssd, drop the hdd to a 1tb and get a 250gb ssd. Trust me you will thank me later. And finally, try and get a bit better of a psu. Im not saying that its bad but you really should try and get one with at least a bronze rating. Make these changes and you should be good to go. Best of luck!

xdeathshot20 got a reaction from LIGISTX in When do replace liquid in water cooling desktop PC
i do mine personally every 6 months. I drain it, run distilled water thru it to get rid of anything and then put in fresh coolant. I do a deep clean every year and a half to 2 years.

Need to build up a tolerance start by licking a 9v battery each morning and over time use bigger and bigger batteries, I'm up to using the car battery each morning now.

xdeathshot20 got a reaction from Peika in CPU very hot after reapplying thermal paste and I have no idea why
possible that you are not making good contact with the cpu, basically your mount aint that good. Take off the cooler and see if the paste spread out over the cpu and that will tell you how good of a mounting job you did

preform the bios update and make sure its plugged in. Even if it isnt charging. If the battery is below like 30% i woundnt do it only because if the machine dies during the update, it kinda gets bricked

@Rikere lenovo support is garbage. Unless you have premium care which is what they offer on there thinkpads, dont bother calling them. My company that i work for is contracted by them and when i have to call them its a hassle. I have worked on your particular computer before. It isnt that hard to do a lcd cable replacement on just takes time and you have to be careful. If i remember correctly its like 8 screws in total besides the bottem panel and some tape. You just need to make sure that you have a torx t5 bit as that is what the bottem panels usally use. If you plan on doing this repair your self, make sure you get new adhesive as without it, the display will just fall out. Use this manuel as a refrence and if this isnt your model, then search your model on google and type in hmm after it.

xdeathshot20 got a reaction from Hairless Monkey Boy in Water Cooled GPU: Replace Air Cooler vs Native Water Cooled
well in terms of the pros and cons, really all that i can think of for pros for getting one thats already good to go is that there is no room for error at least when it comes to installing the block. Water blocks on gpu's are really easy to install in the first place. I cant really think of any cons to going with either or besides maybe the air one being a better built card maybe. What i mean by that is like taking the gaming x with a water block already installed where u could get the gaming z which would be a faster card and just slapping a block on it. Reusibilty, generally the block is made for that specific card unless nvida does the same thing with the 1070ti and 1080 back when where some of the blocks fit both cards but otherwise generally the block is only good for that one and only card. Hope this helps you at least somewhat

pretty much all ssd's for the most part are gonna last the same amount of time. Go by reviews and then make ur decision.

i dont personally have any m.2 drives in my system. Other companys that i would say would be either wd with the black series, crucial or even intel with the 660p

i personally have never had any issues with my Samsung ssd's. I have 2 of them and they still run like they did when i first installed them. So i would say yea they should be pretty reliable

the 3700x has 24 pcie gen 4 lanes. Like i said earlier, you only have so many lanes. If a gpu uses 16 lanes, then ur left with 8 from the cpu which would be used for drives or another gpu. Here is a video i found that explains it a bit better. Its a bit older but still relevant. Dont worry about it being about intel as it still applys to amd.

i personally really like my opseat. Wasnt that expensive compared to the major brands and comes in a wide variety of colors. Was easy to assemble and have not had anyissues so far in the little over a year that i have had it. I have the master series as well.

xdeathshot20 got a reaction from Fasauceome in What makes it "Your (X) PC?"
for me it would be my boot drive which is now being used as a drive for linux but it is still in my rig and the other would be my case fans actually. I upgraded them shortly after my first pc build and they have been transferred in all 3 of my case revisions. They are corsair ml pro white led fans

xdeathshot20 got a reaction from Praesi in Recommended GPUs?
pretty much anyone is going to tell you to wait for 3000 series gpus from nvidia that are rumored to come out later this year along with the new amd gpus that are supposed to be pretty powerful. If you needed a gpu at this exact moment, then if you wana spend the money on a 2080ti then sure go for it, atm it is the fastest single card for gaming that you can get

xdeathshot20 got a reaction from AshRiver in Questions about getting nvme m2 ssd for my custom build desktop
ok so to answer your first question, you can install it on any m.2 port that has the right key. Most likely that particular boards m.2 slots are both for nvme drives so your fine. The reason why m.2 ssd'd disable sata ports is becasue it uses pcie lanes which you have a limited amount of. If you install it in the higher slot, your using the lanes from the cpu, if you install it in the lower slot, you are using lanes from the chipset. I would install it in the top one so that it takes lanes from the cpu and not the chipset. Sata ports run of off lanes from the chipset so if u install it in the upper slot you shouldnt have any sata ports disabled. Second question, yes if you install the ssd in the lower slot you will not get the full theoretical preformance from your drive as it will be limited to 2 lanes instead of 4. One last thing since this may sound confusing, your gpu takes 16 lanes, your cpu has x amount of lanes, onces the lanes run out from the cpu, thats it your out, you then have to rely on the chipset for lanes. Sorry if this sounds confusing, im sure there is a video somewhere that explains it a bit better then i did.

xdeathshot20 got a reaction from ohhhlogi in Rtx 2060 super cooling/ overclocking
what case do you have? also in terms of overclocking install msi afterburner, crank up the power limit as far as it goes and begin increasing the core little by little like by 25mhz at a time and run a benchmark like 3d mark, heaven or something similar that will push the gpu, once you begin to crash move onto memory and do the same, memory will generally go higher but do the same as for the core. Once you have both those things set in and your not crashing in the benchmarks, then move onto the games you play most frequently and see if it crashes in them, if it dosent then your good and successfully overclocked your gpu. Congrats but keep a eye on temps as they will rise the more you push the speeds
