  2. The Asus Q501LA is good. Great RAM, Good screen size, touchscreen, thin, and its Asus. So its meets all the requirements and some. I also know someone with this laptop, so I have used it and have experience with it. Which is also good. and all that for $650. Its going to be hard to beat that I feel.
  3. That's not bad, I'll add that to the list of considerations. Thanks
  4. Okay so I am a former PC Gamer and I'm now getting into Hunting so I no longer need the beast gaming PC I currently have.(Specs below) So since I don't use my computer for gaming anymore I fell like I no longer need such a powerful/big PC anymore so I was planning on down grading to a laptop since when I do use a PC now I just researching, browsing the web and watching YouTube videos/Movies & TV Shows and such. Basically your average PC user. So I'm now in the market for a laptop. Now my current monitor is a 2560x1440 so I need something with a least a 1080p screen. I was thinking since I wont be gaming anymore I could even get a Macbook pro since it has a 2560 screen. But I would have to fork over $1500. And that might be over kill since people edit on those computers. I would like to use the money i would get from selling my PC parts to get the laptop. I would like to spend around $500 but I can flex to $700. I don't really have a hard budget but I don't want to get another over kill PC ya know. Thanks for all the help guys and I might still watch the WAN show every once and Awhile since they talk about all kinds of news but i think LinusTechTips might be a rap for me. It was fun while it lasted but I honestly I just don't like gaming the way I use to 2 years ago. I mean just 3 mouths ago I was a hardcore gamer then one day all my priorities and everything changed..I guess I wanted to something productive in my life instead of playing video games in my spare time..Its hard to explain but yeah. Ill miss you guys:) P.S. I can post pics of my guns if anyone wants to see them, I doubt it tho. Also i don't know what the forum rules say about posting such pics. Current Specs: CPU - I7 4770K GPU - R9 290 RAM - 8GB BM - ASUS MAXIMUS VI IMPACT CASE - Corsair Obsidian Series 250D Laptop min. requirements: 1080p RAM 4GB
  5. Okay so my friend just ordered a PowerColor R9 290 from Newegg and It should be here this up coming monday from Newegg. I told him to wait for the non-reference but there is no release date for those and the release dates people keep say keep getting pushed back. (He kind of has a point). Side Note: He had order a 250GB Samsung EVO SSD from Amazon but he canceled it at the last minute to buy the R9 290 He has been researching online and looking into buying a waterblock for it. The waterblock cost $118.99 (EK Water-block ) then he will need to buy a water cooling kit which cost $209.99 (Ek Liquid Cooling Kit) So now hes looking at $399 for the card, $118 for the block, and $209 for the kit. Thats $726, with that he could just buy the 780ti. So the questions are. Should he buy the water cooling stuff and what not and pay the $726, Is it worth it to pay that much to have watercooling. Or should he use it with the stock cooler until the non-reference release and return it to newegg and swap it out for the non-reference and and pay the difference. or should he wait until he can buy the GTX 780ti. He said he doesn't really have a budget but he just wants to get what is smart to get at the end of the day. Any helpful advice is welcome. Also what things do you think he should change about his build in order from important to least important. He plays games like Skyrim, Battlefield, Star Citizen, just about any game that comes out with a 70 or above metacritic score. He doesn't do any video editing but he might in the future. [EDIT]: He said that he would upgrade his CPU but the new Intel CPU's release soon. so he was waiting for those and use what he has until then since it doesn't really change the FPS all that much. His current build: CPU - Intel Core i3-2105 3.1GHz Dual-Core Processor CPU Cooler - Corsair H100i 77.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler Motherboard - ASRock Z77 Extreme4 ATX LGA1155 Memory - G.Skill Ares Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-2133 Storage - Seagate Barracuda 3TB 3.5" 7200RPM Video Card - EVGA GeForce GTX 650 1GB Video Card Case - Fractal Design Define R4 Power Supply - Antec EarthWatts Green 650W 80+ Bronze Operating System - Microsoft Windows 8.1 Professional (32/64-bit) Monitor 1 - Dell U2312HM 23.0" Monitor Monitor 2 - Dell U2312HM 23.0" Monitor Monitor 3 - Dell U2312HM 23.0" Monitor Any helpful advice is welcome.
  6. Its funny how the "Moderator" delete my post but not everyone else. lol I wish Linus saw some of the BS that goes on on this Forum.
  7. Plus its going to date your PC. Even if you upgrade it, in a few years Battlefield 4 will be old news.
  8. lol 'Harsh outback'
  9. Maybe you should Google the word. "figure" because it seems like you don't know the meaning. Anyways I'm not going to sit here a argue with you. If you don't like the post then move along. No one is forcing you to read this nor is anyone forcing you to agree with it. Plus I have better things to do then argue with some guy on a forum. God bless and have a good rest of your day.
  10. I told you I factored that in. Why don't you read before you post. For some reason that sounds like a good idea to me. You should try it sometime. Bud
  11. Newegg said themselves that that is just a place holder price.
  12. Those were guesses. This is fact.
