  1. I just ordered a Seasonic Focus + 750W PSU. This is all I can afford right now in terms of good tier PSUs. I hope this can handle the task.
  2. Thanks for the input, I didn't realise it could be just the turbo boost. I've cleaned the CPU fan and the fins of the radiator, but the fan still spins pretty high, around 2900 rpm, I guess it needs better cleaning or maybe a new thermal paste. I'm gonna monitor CPU temps to be sure that is all fine.
  3. Yes, eventually found a cheaper Seasonic Focus+ and went for that. Thanks.
  4. Hello, My i5-760 is overclocked by default. Is this related to ram frequency? I have an old Asus P7P55D motherboard and 4 sticks of 2gb DDR3 ram clocked at 1600 mhz. I've noticed the CPU fan spins a lot faster than the first few seconds since boot so I've checked with CPU_Z and noticed its overclocked. I've attached a printscreen. I've reset the bios to default and the CPU still overclocks, do I have to do the settings manual? Thanks, ukw
  5. Asus Strix GTX 1070 MSI GTX 1060 3GB KFA GTX 1060 3GB
  6. Which PSU is better for 3 gpus system (asus gtx 1070, msi gtx 1060 3gb, kfa gtx 1060 3gb):Seasonic Focus+ 750worSuper Flower Leadex II Gold 750W?Thanks,ukw
  7. On what PSU you'd run such hardware? Price wise +30 usd more than CS650M
  8. Because I got them on best offers. I can't really afford a full price so bought them when I could at discounted price.
  9. I feel you, I fried a PSU before with 2x gpus, but it was a cheapo one, not even close to this PSU from Corsair.
  10. Efficiency wise seems pretty spot on the 80+ Gold certification it has (I'm running on 240 VAC):
  11. Hello, I've a dilemma with what to do with my video cards. Right now running an Asus Strix gtx 1070 and a MSI gtx 1060 3gb with a P7p55d motherboard and i5 760 on a CS650M PSU. All running fine. Now I want to make the following combo: ASUS STRIX B250F GAMING, Socket 1151 Intel® Celeron® Kaby Lake™ G3930 1x ADATA XPG 4GB DDR4 Asus Strix gtx 1070 MSI gtx 1060 3gb KFA gtx 1060 3gb PSU CS650M Can I run all these components on that PSU? Following a quick math that cpu has around 50w, 1070 - 150w, 1060 120w, 1060 120w, MB+others 100W = 540W which means a headroom of 110W The system will be used for mining, running at maybe 85% TPU for each GPU. Is it safe enough to run them in this combo? Thanks, ukw. PS: Oh and I've also ordered an XFX RX 580, but this one will be used mainly for gaming with the old i5 760 and that P7P55D motherboard, looking for a good PSU for this as well.
  12. Yeah, you are right, I'm more familiar with intel nowadays and didn't even realised there could be such an old socket still out there to buy. I just thought AM3+ its something new, like intel haswell or something. Ok, so i5 to the rescue. Thanks to all of you for your info!
  13. Hello, First of, forgive me for asking something that's being asked before: Fx-8350 or i5 6400? Ty
  14. If I'll go GTX 970, should I go Gainward Phantom? I found it to be cheaper than Asus or others.. If R9 380 what manufacturer you suggest? And would they work with a 550W psu? Thanks.
  15. Hello, I'm ukw. I need some help with getting the best bang for buck graphics card. I have an old desktop with: - Asus p7p55d motherboard - i5-760 processor - 4 gb ram - 120 gb ssd - 1 tb hdd - Sapphire Radeon 5830 graphics card - Power source: Rasurbo SilentPower DLP-55.1 550W I wanna swap the graphics card for something capable of running 1080p in high details with the current config without leaving me broke. So around 230-250 usd mark should be good. I'm open for up to 300 if its better bang for buck. Thanks for help. PS: I'm from Europe, Romania.
