  1. Kinda, for what I have seen ppl buy for the looks. I remember tweaking my 980 but tbh eventually pressed the factory reset and left it like that for years. Gonna check if temp benchmarks, that might solve it
  2. Alright after sleeping on the matter, I have come to the conclusion that the 7800xt is the better choice for me. The only game that has a big difference in performance in 4070/ti is cyberpunk with Rx on. With that said do you guys think I should get the nitro version over the pulse? I don't care about LEDs at all. It consumes 40W more which I don't like but has better cooling system (supposedly better performance as well) The nitro is 40€ more.
  3. My target res is QHD which I forgot to mention. I know that native resterization is still preferable and I haven't used any ray tracing tech since I have a 980 but don't you guys think that the feature suite from nvidia is still worth the less 10% perf? Typing that kinda makes me realize that I'm coping with the amd preconceptions :s
  4. I would agree if not for the focus being on the 7000 series but I will definitly ponder a bit more.
  5. You guys are both right and if I hadn't come across those posts I probably would go for the 7800. The main issue I have found on those posts was something about driver timeout and black/green screens!? If I were to still consider it, a sapphire pulse 7800 would cost me ~ 440€ with the 20% off Eventually what got me to change to nvidia was better driver support, feature suite and power efficiency
  6. Hello everyone, So I'm finally upgrading GPU from my 980 At first I was decided on getting the 7800 xt but while I was researching through LTT and Reddit I found quite some people with issues on this card. I then searched for those issues and sadly it's not that uncommon. With that said, on that performance tier I have the 4070 by team green. Now the thing is I have a 20% off discount on this shop which would get me a Asus Dual 4070 for ~510€ ... or a Zotac trinity 4070 ti for ~ 640€ I'm from the EU and I don't know how Zotac is here. What do you guys think about those prices? Should I stay away from Zotac? (heard that their costumer support is not that great) Or should I get the 4070 ti for that price independently of the brand? Your opinions are kindly appreciated Eddit: Didn't express myself quite well. What I meant to ask was: If I should get the "better" brand 4070 or the "dubious" brand 4070 ti? And the target res is QHD
  7. Thank you everyone! Here it is the final build: Case: Fractal Design Meshify S2 Preta TG Board: MSI Pro Z690-A WiFi DDR4 CPU: Intel i5 12600k CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D15 GPU: old MSI GTX 980 PSU: Corsair RM 750X (2021) 80+ Gold RAM: G.Skill Kit 32GB 2*(2 x 8GB) DDR4 3200MHz Ripjaws V Black Ver. B CL16 Storage: Samsung 970 500GB | WD Blue 1TB | Crucial MX500 1TB Total cost: 986€ (without storage and GPU) EDIT The case is so big that everything inside looks underwhelming. Love the no RGB element of it
  8. Yo After checking all of those cases I really liked the Fractal Design Meshify C (can get it for 80€) and was looking at the Lian Li Lancool II Mesh and found out the performace variant (110€). Might go for the fractal one since it seems a really good deal (it's on sale), just need to check if it can fit the beefy noctua D15. Thanks EDIT Sorry the actual case is Fractal Design Meshify S2 not the "C" one need to check if it is as good:)
  9. I was using a Corsair GTX110i (I think it is the correct model) but somehow it seemed that pump was working more the fans. I don't know if I set it up wrong or if it was just like that. After watching some videos, mainly linus's, It appears those gigantic coolers from noctua seem not only more silent and somewhat more efficient. Do you think otherwise? I have heard about those cases before, gonna have a look then. (My main objective is performance, don't really care about glass panels or rgb). Thanks
  10. Hi mate It is basically 2 kits of 2x8GB. I can't find any 4x8GB anywhere. I will use my old storage which is; Samsung 970 500GB NMVE, Crucial MX500 1TB and WD Blue 1TB Thanks
  11. Budget (including currency): 1000 Country: Portugal Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Tarkov, League of legends, Anno 1800, Intellij, Vidual Studio, some VM Lab testing With the help of another user I think I came up with my next build. CPU: Inter i5 12600K Cooler: Noctua NH-D15 (Need to check if it comes with a compatible mount tho) Mobo: Motherboard MSI PRO Z690-A DDR4 Wifi RAM: G.Skill Kit 16GB (4 x 8GB) DDR4 3200MHz Ripjaws V Black Ver. B CL16 PSU: Corsair RM 750X (2021) 80+ Gold (would keep my previous one rm650i but it only has 1 EPS 8pin connector) GPU: My old GTX 980 I kinda need help to choose a good case (good airflow and cable management) What do you think?
  12. So by now I have this: CPU: Intel i5 12600K - 316€ Mobo: MSI Pro Z690-A (Recommended by Dr0idGh0sT) - 200€ (might go for the wifi version for more 20€ since I quite need bluetooth.) RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws V 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4-3600MHz CL16 - 80€ Cooler: Noctua NH-D15 - around 90-100€ (I would even use my old AIO water cooler but I'm afraid that it has become too old) Now, I might have to get a new PSU for future proofing (GPU Upgrade) and a new case. I saw that this mobo has two 8pin connectors, my old Corsair RM650i might not have enough connections. Any suggestions for these last two?
  13. Yeah the ram was just a thought, so it wouldn't get wasted. It can also be used for spare parts or to troubleshoot in future. Any thoughts on AMD or just go for Intel? I'm gonna edit the post to add more info that I forggot. Thx mate!
  14. Budget (including currency): 1000€ Country: Portugal Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Escape From Tarkov is probably the most demanding game I play. Visual Studio and other IDEs. So my previous build died today. Either it was the mobo or CPU (I'm guessing it's the mobo). And since I was thinking on upgrading my 6 year old PC, I might as well and go for something new. This was my previous build: CPU: intel I5 6600K Motherboard: Asus Maximus VIII RAM: Gskill Ripjaws V DDR4-2400MHz 16GB (2*8GB) GPU: MSI GTX 980 4G Storage: Crucial MX500 1TB / WD Blue 1TB / Samsung 960 500GB NVME PSU: Corsair RM650i Cooling: Corsair H100i GTX So I built my pc before AMD new era and now it appears Intel is taking some ground again. I was thinking on going for intel i5 12600K (Should I go for the i9?), I'm openned for AMD, what do you guys think? I don't know if I should go for DDR5 or not (I'm afraid of the "too soon") I don't know which brands to go for the mobo. Should I reuse my old DDR4 2400 and get an aditional 16GB (2*8GB) and call it a day? I think I'm going to reuse the storage. Now the important question. Should I keep my loyal GTX 980? With GPUs being as they are I wouldn't mind staying with the 980 (that's why the budget is at 1000€) I game at 1080p and won't be changing that any time soon. The budget can be changed. My main two concerns are new mobo and new CPU What do you think? (Any opinion is welcome) *EDIT* My case is completely trash, what case do you guys recommend (Main concern is air flow.) In general, I don't care about aesthetics. One last question, Noctua NH-D14 or D15?
  15. Hi, Guys sorry to reopen it so soon, I just found out that the ducky one keyboards are on sale in my country. this model: DKON1508S Is that model good for 98€ comparing to the cooler master one? thanks, Daniel
