Hello. My brother used to have a Samsung Galaxy S4 quite a long time ago, which he later passed to my mother and then my father. Today, an accident occured, wherein the phone was soaked in a bit of water (with concentrated juice). Since then it has been dried, but it still doesn't functioned properly. When you turn it on, you see the Galaxy S4 logo, then TeamWin logo, and TeamWin Recovery Center appears, with options like Install, Wipe, Backup, Recover, etc. I don't know anything about phones, really, the most advanced thing I ever did to a phone was rooting an LG L5 back in 2012, but I've been asked for help because I "know a bit about computers". So here I am, asking you guys for help. I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do (I'm guessing it doesn't detect a system installed or something, but there are no backups available and there's not enough space to do a backup) to get it working again.

Since the problem described in the original post is the only real issue that I've experienced with this software, I had no real reason to seek out an alternative. It works fine, it comes already installed with the OS, it supports the formats I use. It's simple and easy to use. I care about the rating because I like it when everything has 5 stars... it looks pretty...

Hello. I've been listening to a lot of music lately, in particular the first 7 albums by the British metal band Iron Maiden. For a particular project I'm working on, I've set out to listen to each album at least 10 times. Right now I have listened to four albums 8 times in total and the other 3 albums nine times in total. What I noticed, however, is that WMP does whatever it wants with the scores for each track. For example, if I add a track to Windows Media Player and listen to it in full right away, its rating will increase from 3 stars to 4 stars, and if I listen three more times, it'll go up to five stars. Well, for some reason, while almost all tracks on their fifth album, Powerslave, from 1984, got a 5-star rating by the fourth session as expected, the last track, Rime of the Ancient Mariner, required that I listen to it seven times before WMP decided to award it the last star. Now that I've just listened to the whole album for the 9th time, half of the album (that's four tracks) dropped from five stars to four! And another album, Killers, from 1981, has only four tracks on it with a 5-star rating, even though I listened to it 8 times across a relatively short time period (usually once every other day), and I remember all eleven tracks having five stars since the 5th session. When I added The X Factor, Iron Maiden's 10th album from 1995, into my library, it started out with a rating of 3 across all its tracks. Once I listened to the whole album, the rating dropped to 2! Now that's goes against all logic. As I'm writing this I'm listening to their 4th album, and the first track just dropped from 5 stars to 4 stars the moment it ended, but the second track didn't. The third track, however, did. Ultimately, it's not a big problem, and I could always set my own rating for each track and/or stop caring about the rating altogether, but it's just something I noticed that's really messing with my OCD (not actual Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, but you know what I mean). I was just wondering if anyone could offer an explanation or a link to an explanation as to why this is happening.

The sound card I linked is something I've been drooling over and wanted to have for several years now, so I'm probably gonna stick with it even if there are other alternatives.

If I buy this:Sennheiser HD 650 Followed by this: ASUS Xonar Essense STX II I will NOT need an additional DAC and/or Amp to get great sound, correct? (Ignore the audio source for now; I just want to know about the hardware) I'm just trying to make sure, since I saw some people pairing expensive soundcards to external DACs and Amps, but from what I understand, it's rather redundant, since they do virtually the same thing.

I'm not sure what is the context behind this, but there's just... too much of everything. Unless they want to build another Compensator, and even then, this is overkill even for the Compensator. 4 1440p 100Hz monitors? You'd need 3 GTX 1080Tis just to play Minecraft on that.

Looking around the internet for an answer to this question, most sites only talk about what formats it supports, which, as far as I know, is only of importance if you use iTunes as a music player. However, what I'm looking for, is what format does iTunes store its files in. When I bought some music there, I noticed it was in AAC 256kbps, but there was an option to convert to other formats, such as MP3 or WAV. What I want to know, is does iTunes convert the already present AAC file to the other format (which is redundant when trying to get high quality music, as you can't recreate a lossless file from a lossy compression), or does it download some sort of "master file" that's in high quality and converts that to the desired format?

The video is the main reason I consider buying the DVDs/Blu-Rays, as for the most part I enjoy Iron Maiden more on studio albums than on live albums. Also, now that I think of it, I shouldn't have said "great choreography and showmanship" It's just... fun to watch. I have Sennheiser HD 513 and plan on upgrading them to Momentum 2.0s (for outdoor listening) and/or HD 650s (indoor eargasm) somewhere in the next... year or so.

I doubt I will, I'm a headphone-lover and a speaker-hater. At least I'm 90% sure I won't get a surround system in the next... 5 years, and I'm not buying music now and thinking about what I'll do with it in 5 years.

I'm not sure if it matters much; I don't have an expensive home theater system. I'll be listening to the concerts with my headphones, and watching them either on my PC or on my TV. I don't have 5 speakers and a subwoofer in my cans

This is a very good response. It's less about the bit-rate or frequency, since pretty much anything above CD is redundant, but if DVDs usually don't offer audio quality inferior to CDs then it's all good.

Exactly the opposite. Because it's Iron Maiden, I don't want a half-assed product DVD-Video. It's a concert with both audio and video recorded and distributed on a DVD disc.

I did tests myself. I compared 1411kbps WAVs to 128kbps MP3s, and while the WAVs were indeed audibly better, the difference was surprisingly small. When I did tests between 320kbps and 1411kbps FLACs, I'm 90% sure the perceived difference was just placebo effect. That depends on how the audio was recorded, though doesn't it? I can upscale my .wav files from my CDs from 44.1KHz to 96KHz and there won't be no difference. Since the CDs were recorded with professional studio equipment, I'm assured (or at least hoping) that all the space available on a CD has been utilized. When it comes to live shows, though, I have no idea what kind if equipment they're recorded with, so I don't know if the extra KHz and bits even matter.

I plan on buying a couple Live albums from Iron Maiden. However, something I've been wondering about is whether I should go with CD albums or the DVDs from the shows. I know for a fact that shows like Death on the Road are absolutely awesome in terms of choreography and showmanship, but I also wouldn't want to sacrifice audio quality compared to a CD. Is audio quality on DVD movies better than on CDs? Worse? No difference? And for that matter, I'll definitely be ordering their newer shows like Flight 666 and En Vivo, as well as Live at River Plate from AC/DC on Blu-Ray, but since Blu-Ray has so much space, I assume the audio quality is at least equivalent to the CDs from the same shows?

I'm not Norwegian so I can't help you with that specifically, but I think looking for it in Swedish or Danish stores might be a good idea if you can't find them in Norwegian stores; many stores across Scandinavia offer shipping to all of these countries. Alternatively, Amazon.co.uk offers surprisingly decent shipping rates to Scandinavia.

Hello. I started listening to music in the past months a lot more, and with it came a realisation: I need closed headphones. My current Sennheiser HD 513 sound great (I plan on getting a nice sound card and upgrading to HD 650s), but they're open, making them very unappealing for outdoor/public listening. Ever since I got my HD513s, I became kind of a Sennheiser fanboy, and so the Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 (Over-Ear, as I dislike other headphone designs) seemed like a good idea. However, its 3000 SEK (~$330) price tag is quite steep, so I was looking around for some cheaper alternatives. Marshall Monitor are another set of closed, over-ear headphones, but these cost only 1800 SEK (~$200). As I stated, I'm kind of a Sennheiser fanboy and so the Momentums are appealing to me despite their price, but if they don't provide enough difference in quality to justify spending 40% more on them than on the Marshalls, I might give them up. In short, is Sennheiser Momentum's quality enough to justify buying them over something like Marshall Monitor, or another set of headphones (that you might recommend)?

So the aim of this product is to make the usage of Google Translate slightly less clunky, right? It basically captures what you're saying, translates it through Google Translate and spits out the translation on the other end? There are a few reasons why this technology isn't too good: 1. In order for the translation to be correct, it has to capture your voice properly, which requires clear speech, something that might be a problem with people with accents or who have some kind of speech impairment. 2. Even if the voice is captured correctly, Google Translate is far from perfect, especially because of how many words can have different meanings, and how hard these little differences and irregularities are to learn for a machine. Translation between languages that have similiar grammar rules, for example English and Swedish is surprisingly decent, but if I were to, say, translate something from Chinese to Polish, it'd probably be incomprehensible garbage. As for the video: Really funny.

Oh, and it also allows me to go straight to 3.5mm without using an adapter. I guess it was a pretty simply solution, it's just that these cables have a little thingy that makes them click into place and I didn't know if custom retailers had this stuff.

Some time ago I got myself the Sennheiser HD 518 headphones, and they're really good. However, recently school has started and I found myself wanting to listen to music on breaks and stuff (I also recently got crazy over Iron Maiden, buying 11 of their albums just in the past month). I have three problems, though: 1. In-ear earphones are pure garbage. Not that they don't sound good, but that my ear canals are so small that any earphones I've ever tried, even on smallest tips, just pop out on even the tiniest of movements, no matter how I try to put them in. So that won't work. 2. The HD 518 I've mentioned earlier have a THREE METER long cable with a big-ass 6,5mm jack at the end of it, and the 3.5mm adapter that came with the headphones is almost as bulky as my entire smartphone 3. Lastly, these are open headphones. Not a big deal, I don't have to blast the music at 100% volume, I just wanted to say it so that you don't point it out in replies. So! Is there any way for me to somewhat comfortably listen to music outside in places like the bus or on breaks at school without having to carry a 3m long cable around that weighs more than my phone, and without having to shell out 100 bucks for another decent pair of headphones?

I hope that's just that. I just ran Unigine Valley on Extreme HD settings, and with a score of 1695 and an average FPS of 40,5 I did not see a single graphical glitch. I also didn't see any when playing other games, but I didn't trust that observation, since most of the other games I play aren't too GPU intensive (like VVVVVV or Undertale)

Alright, so a couple months ago I had a problem with my R9 270 graphics card, bought back in June of 2014, where I would get intense graphical glitches when playing games and my computer would often freeze and crash within a couple minutes of launching anything graphically demanding, like a modern game or a GPU benchmark. This, in addition to various suggestions by people on this forum and some other tests led me to believe my GPU was dying, and so I had to replace it. I ended up buying an EVGA GTX 1050Ti, and everything was running just fine. Not only did I stop getting any artifacts, but the performance in games actually increased. Anyway, recently I was playing Portal (which is not a very graphically demanding game, in my opinion) and I kept noticing little graphical artifacts appearing for split seconds and flasing on the screen (mostly black rectangles and triangles appearing at various angles, flashing for about 0,1-0,2s and then disappearing, only to reappear and do the same thing about 20 minutes later. It got me worries, as my GPU was still a fairly new piece of hardware, bought new mere 3 months ago. I used HWMonitor, and the temperatures never exceeded 46 degrees celsius. Yesterday I finished getting all the achievements for Portal, and today I started playing Portal 2. In 80 minutes of playing there were 3 different places in the game where I encountered this specific graphical glitch: Both games were run on maximum graphical settings, but in both of them (as you can see from the video), I have good framerate, so my computer is definitely not under too much load. Since I've gotten the new GPU I didn't even try to overclock it, so that's not the case. I really don't know what to think about this, but it's really worrying.

Whenever I play games (I don't recall this happening with Team Fortress 2, but it does happen with Undertale and especially Skyrim). Every once in a while, my game minimizes because some command prompt appears and disappears before I can even check out what it's about. I feel like it might have something to do with NVidia GeForce Experience, since it didn't happen before I installed that. Any idea how to fix that? It's quite annoying, but I don't want to just uninstall Geforce Experience, because it's really useful.

Ran Unigine Valley, and at around 51 degres celcius at Extreme HD, it just crashed. The PC runs fine, but I'll run the program one more time, this time at just Extreme. Okay, I ran it. It was in windowed mode so I could see other stuff on screen, which turned out to be pretty valuable. I barely ran it and already had the screen freeze with intense lense-flare-like spots on the screen, but after a second it recovered and played again. About 10 seconds later, the same thing happened, but more intense. Then there was just constant freeze, and I decided to cut it and close the program. What's interesting is that, every singe time the program froze, Windows showed me a notification saying "display driver stopped responding but recovered" Here's the GPU-Z log from the test - GPU-Z Sensor Log valley.txt What I noticed is that whenever the screen froze, the card jumped from 955 mhz core and 1400 mhz memory clocks to 300 mhz core and 150 mhz memory clocks, and instantly dropped to 0% usage, then after a while recovered and kept going at the proper 955/1400 clocks, only to be cut out again a few moments later.
