The best way is to look to companies official websites.
Otherwise you may got installed wrong/corrupted firmware.

I used Iobit driver booter, which also manage to  get my acer laptops firmware too.

However,, I prefer using windows updates for it, or download from Acer itself.

When had my previous laptop (Toshiba) I used app which downloaded firmware, happened so it failed to indentfy right verion, which messed up bios.
So had to flash them  manually.  And it was hard to find 6 years old laptops bios..

The moral of the story,..  Don't use thrid parties apps to downloa firmware

Extract files to  any your prefered folder.

    Now follow>
    1) Press Windows+R to display Run, input devmgmt.msc and tap OK.
this will open Devine manager window
    2) Find  for line named >  Network Adapters .
There should be either unknown device if there are no drivers, or if there is old version.
3)Right-click the device, and select the Update Driver option.
    4) Click the Browse my computer for driver software option.
    5) Click the Browse button.
    6) Select the main folder with the content you have extracted earlier.
    7)Click the OK button.
8)Check the Include subfolders option to allow the wizard to find the correct ".inf" file with the instructions to update the driver.
    9) Click the Next button.

And the rest should be done by windows itself.

If u have other pc/laptop or simply ask friends to download either Dr.web or kAspersky rescue disk or  any other av who have scan on demand feature.. Then coppy it to usb flash memory.> then plug in that flash memory to your pc and run scanning. Virus/malware will not be able to to terminate this process.
Also some antivirus have bootable scanning. Thats mean it start scan system before OS fully boot up.

Or as oliverjrose99 suggest. Boot up in safe mode. And try remove virus manually.

Windows Defender can be disabled in the settings of the application. You cannot have a "best" antivirus as they will not all catch everything. Think of antivirus software as immune system.

My immune system might be able to catch things that yours cannot, or it might adapt faster. Same goes antivirus software. They use different engines, and have different strengths and weaknesses. There is no one antivirus software that can catch everything. It simply doesn't exist - and tests don't prove anything. The tests just prove that the software could stop the chosen samples. That's it.

I pick only ones which I have used,, there are some others which u can find via google. But I know one thing, if u want great/proffesional utility for video editing, u should try adobe after effect, sony vegas and other proffesional paid  video editors... How u get registration data is other matter. I will not tell u how get them, and u do not ask me.. If u smart enough u will find other ways...

Your avast found threat. Ok, u tested with other programs. They din't found threat. So there are 2 options.
    1) this is not virus, but malware, and thats why other av's do not react to it.  for that u need antimalware..  Malware bites is good option to scan your pc.
    2) this is fake allarm.   To make sure that it's fake, scan your file via website https://www.virustotal.com
Disable avast,, upload file,, and read report.. That website use multiple anvirus/antimalware engine..  So if its like 70%  of engines say its safe. Then in your avast put that file as exclusion list..
    Thats how I would do...

Sometimes  antiviruses take other programs as threat. For example I used Kasperky and had lots of fake alarms.   Even fraps from official website where considered as threat..   So I scanned that frap with total virus(multi engine av scanner). No threats where found... Also Had situation when by mistake my av killed my win 7 os.. So if u worry is that stuff is virus,, scan it with total virus website...

Avg is ok, when comes performance.  I mean protection rates and how much pc power he consume..  After all there are non of av/ antimalare which can protect u 100%. Some threats pass through even from top av. even from  most overrated malwarebites.
read comment above.. Its overrated, plus  MB  sucks when comes backdoor virus and mostly on rootkits..  Thats why keep it without other AV  is not good option
most common av can trace some malwares, some antimalwares can detect some viruses..   But when u need good av u pick av. When u need good scan for malware u pick antimalware software...

Windows defender = same as no anvirus... I tested,, removed my current av, and it didn't trace any virus/malware. Even I infected on purpose.  Defender only reacted when I try install some software..
Some guys claim its great av due it is part of microsoft  security essentials,.  But remember that defender is just small portion of that av...

p.s I don't use spotify. Not because I don't like, but because there and in youtube don't have certain tracks which I do have..  And some of them I edit to suit my taste.  Thats include tempo/speed changing, cutting out boring part.

There are some good utilities. But before u start there is question for what purpose u do. If u like short screen recording, fraps OK. But if long videos than recorded file with fraps will be heavy(lots of GB) plus fraps depend on cpu only.
You have nVidia GPU, so nVidias shadowPlay I think would be best solution for your spec PC. After all ShadowPlay use  GPU acceleration and quality also is slightly better than fraps

If u don't want ShadowPlay, u can use Bandicam, Action, HyperCam.  There are plenty of such utilities, just need to check internet via google/yahoo/bing.
