  1. Hey there, I happen to have a hardware dead Radeon VII I wish to repair, I have never done any small electronics repairs but I have nothing to lose + I think it's interesting. I was wondering where to get started. I have a multimeter and some tools, do you guys know of any guides or begginer friendly content that can point me in the right direction? I believe I have to look for shorts? All help is very much appreciated.
  2. I don't think that's a thing here in spain though
  3. A shop in Barcelona, they just said that the manufacturer declined the warranty
  4. Hey there, Last summer I bought a Radeon VII for my PC, after less than 3 months the card bricked, can't get it to post with a display attached, and error 43 without the display. I tried to RMA the card but gigabyte refuses to give me a warranty because the IO shield had rusted a bit (just because I live next to the sea, card was never wet). I tried flashing the vbios with the older and newer versions of the bios, nothing works, tried on 3 different computers. I don't know what to do now. Anyone help? Thanks
  5. What do you mean when you say Amazon won't care or won't service it, it's not like they have choice (right?), this PSU has a warranty and they have to do something about it (right?)
  6. Yes, it is my second computer and I don't have a case for it right now, so it's basically the motherboard resting on top of a cardboard box on my desk and the PSU next to it, and as I have no power switch connected to the motherboard I set the bios to power on after ac restore so whenever I wanna use it I just turn the PSU on and everything powers on.
  7. Hey there, so this morning I went to turn on my PC and as soon as I flipped the PSU switch there was a fairly loud noise comming from it, didn't see any sparks or smoke and nothing smells weird, but my computer won't boot now, the LEDs on my motherboard kinda turn on and then off repeatedly, I turned everything off and let it sit there for the day, then I check back later and still no boot, so I unplug everything and try the paper clip thing, nothing happens, I plug in a molex fan and still nothing, I get my multimeter out and measure voltage on every pin, no voltage on any pins other than pin 9 (standby +5V). The PSU was bought 8 months ago and was currently running an i7 6700K and and RX 480 (I know it's overkill but originally intended to use it for something else). So the question is what can I do with this now and has this happended to any of you before? And if in the end I need to RMA should I send it to Amazon or to Corsair?
  8. Hi there, I've recently been working on some convolutional neural networks and they take a massive amount of vram (16GB+) so I was thinking about purchasing a new GPU, I was thinking: -Tesla K80 24GB, for 400€ second hand, which is very good value however I'm worried that as it is an older Kepler GPU and uses and older version of CUDA it may give me trouble or incompatibilities or some sort of error. - 2 x RTX 2080ti as I've heard I might be able to add their vram together using NVLINK to pool the memory together but I am unsure about that. I am aware that the performance of the 2 RTX 2080ti is much greater than that of a single K80 but im mostly interested in the vram rather that the speed. So what would you recomend? Has anyone managed to add vram using NVLINK? Has anyone used a Tesla K80 card?
  9. But then why does it work perfectly when windows reboots but doesn't work at all when starting from the power button?
  10. Hey there, I recently bought an Asus Prime Z390-A Board and the M.2 drive does a really weird thing, I won't detect the drive in the bios and it won't boot, however, if I press on the drive while it posts it will absolutely detect it and work perfectly, then I can stop pressing on it and it will work perfectly and Windows won't crash or do anything strange, even if I reboot from windows it will work just fine, but if I boot from the case button it won't. This doesn't really bother me but I was wondering if someone else has experienced something like this before. This is certainly the weirdest I have seen (and yes I have tested it, you can try to boot 43 times and it won't work until you press on it). Pd I live in Spain so the temperature is always about 20- 25C at this time of the year. Pd 2, yes I did try tightening the screw. Anyone has any idea of what could this possibly be?
  11. Hi there, I have a managed chromebook which I am unable to unenroll, I have been checking forums for 3 years now, so I need to get into developer mode but it doesnt let me in, however, I am able to install distributions of chrome os, so the question is.... Would it be posible to modify the OS image to force it to always be in dev mode? Or eliminate the funciton of forced enrollement, or something similar. Many thanks. (it's a Lenovo N21)
  12. Hi there, I have succesfully installed mac os on my PC, however I am not able to get the integrated soundcard to functon, I have an Asus Z170 pro gaming aura, I cannot find any compatible drivers. Can someone help me? Thanks.
  13. What a cool device, It would be amazing for me to have one as I have tons of empty space where I could put one of these.
  14. Yes, you type the adress which looks like C://Programfiles/Labview etc. and the graphs appear just as if it was an actual website. It's just as the actual program, you can go through the tabs, graphs and charts but without being able to do any changes or access the settings.
