  1. I love your suggestion for the case, it's a real stunner (and the wife approves!). I have an RM750x with custom sleaved cables in my current rig so I love this idea. It'd fit in perfectly with the aesthetic I want in the room too! Also, that RAM is a thing of pure beauty.. After reading further comments, it looks like it may be more ideal to get an Xbox for UHD Bluray content. It'd completely passed my mind that they can play them too. I'd ideally love to take advantage of my storage array (probably should have mentioned it's SSD based and can saturate bandwidth). I've also just had a look at the Roccat Sova. This is exactly what I'm looking for, and I love the idea of the USB hub under the couch to reduce wire clutter (should be able to hide them well by feeding them under the carpet). Seen as I'll be getting an Xbox One for the UHD stuff, I'll just get one of those Microsoft adapters to use them as controllers for PC games. I guess the standardization will help when it comes to games too. Would it make sense at this point to just go 1080Ti? Or is the difference not really warranted with the stuff I'm planning on playing? Thanks for all your comments!
  2. Hi all, looking for some advice on an upcoming project I have in mind. Moving in to a new apartment next month so we can finally split our bedroom/living room/office (gaming area) apart. We're also getting an LG OLED55B6V for our living room and are finally looking forward to some good ol fashion couch gaming. Basically what I'm looking for is something that's small (and quiet), somewhat powerful (enough to drive low intensity games at 4k, like Lego games or other local multiplayer games), watch HDR 4K BluRays, stream from my Plex box without issue and passes the wife test. I have a storage array at the moment, so mass storage for games etc would be handled from that, so no need for big hard drives. Ideally would like 10GB networking on the box to complement that and speed things up. I've used ex server Intel cards in the past, but maybe there's better ones available now? Ideally I want to keep it under 2000 USD, but willing to extend that if it's suggested otherwise. I'm up for any suggestions at all on what might be a good fit. I've never really built anything quiet/small before so I'm in unknown territory! Also looking for controller suggestions/mouse and keyboard suggestions that work well for couch gaming. Thank you all ever so much for your time! EDIT: I should also mention, I'm planning on doing the build once we've settled in, so around December time. I know 8th has just released so I'm happy to wait for stock etc.
  3. In that case have you tried plugging the drive in to different ports on your machine/trying other usb storage devices? If you haven't already then try it in a USB 2 port on the back of your motherboard.
  4. Have you restarted your machine? If not/you're on Windows 10, try doing a full restart (Hold the Shift key whilst clicking the restart button, then click Shutdown this PC). Then see if that makes any difference.
