1. Hello! So, due to some issues with my current motherboard* I was thinking about changing it, however, seeing that my CPU might be old and needing a change, I thought it would be an opportunity to upgrade it as well *(somewhat faulty, still works, but Ethernet port stopped working out of nowhere and I had some BSOD now and then that seem to be related to power distribution, which I'm pretty certain it's the motherboard and not the power supply, however the Ethernet port is a really big downside, I'm currently using a cheapo TP Link Wifi card on the PCI-Express slot but it's pretty bad) Currently this is my very cheap computer build: CPU: AMD FX 8320 MOBO: ASRock 970 Pro3 R2.0 * RAM: 2x Patriot Viper3 4gb 1600Mhz GPU: Asus GTX1060 Dual OC 3GB Case: CM Storm Scout 2 HDD: WD Blue 1TB harddrive SSD: Corsair ForceGS 120GB COOLER: Stock quick edit: PSU: XFX Pro 550w (forgot this lol) I don't plan on overclocking so usually the stock cooler does it job. My budget is currently 200 euros (no plans on raising it, gotta save up) for the CPU + MOBO, but in case it's not really worth ditching my 8320, I'd still like to know what would be a worthy motherboard, because I don't feel like this CPU would deserve an expensive motherboard at this point of life. My usages are mostly gaming, and eventually streaming. If upgrading, I'd like to have more single-thread/single-core power since I also play Vindictus (very unoptimized game, runs on an old version of Source Engine, and is single threaded and very CPU intensive). As for the other games I play, I don't feel like the CPU is bottlenecking them, but those would be LoL, Overwatch, CS:GO and Black Desert Online. So, tldr of all of this: Any worthy upgrade on the FX8320 for 200euros or less (mobo price included)? If not, what would be a nice motherboard replacement for my FX8320? I'm not an heavy user of the forums, I'm sorry if the thread is not perfect and sorry if I perhaps posted in the wrong section, I hope not Also sorry for the bad english, I'm not a native english speaker, but I do my best And thanks in advance for any answers
2. I just compared the specs between the 4 of them The Samsung has the worst Sequencial Write and both Corsair (ForceGS and Force Series LS) have the best Sequencial Read and Write. Also the ForceGS has the bigger MTBF I guess I might be going for the ForceGS then Edit: There are people complaining about the Sandforce controller SSDs failing, is it a real problem of the controller? Or is it just general failling?
3. Thanks for the quick answers! So the procedure is right? Good! It seems easy then, I was afraid it had more complications. The intel is the most expensive one and there are various Corsair models. Is there any difference in between them? Like the controllers, performance, the quality, etc? If they are all OK I will probably go for the Corsair ForgeGS or the SS 840 EVO then
4. Hi guys My system is currently running with 1TB Western Digital Blue drive and I want to put one SSD drive for my OS and my most used games for faster loading (currently I came back to W7 but will be using W8.1U1). I already read a lot of stuff about SSD's and I am very very confused. They all have diferent specifications like controllers and stuff and I am confused on how I can run my SSD and my HDD both at the same time without compromising the performance of the system, and I am also confused on how I have to set up the drives So before asking stuff about the drive I want I will just ask a few questions about the setup. If I got it right what I should do is: 1 - Run a LiveCD or so and errase my HDD (because it has already the Windows bootloader and OS) 2 - Disconnect my HDD 3 - Connect the SSD to a free Sata3 port 4 - Install Windows normally 5 - Connect the HDD again, boot up the pc and in Windows format the HDD 6 - ??? 7 - Profit? The questions here are, the drives will appear seperatly? Can I have like Local Disk C: for the SSD and then 2 other Local Disks for my HDD? I don't want to have one Local Disk using both SSD and HDD at the same time, I wanna know what I have in the SSD and what I don't have there Also, there are any diferent procedures for installing Windows 8 or 7 in a SSD? I know formating it does require a different procedure (I dont know what but I know). And the RAID things... I don't want any shadowing of my files, should I worry about any RAID setup or any thing like that? Or just install the drives as I mentioned? And now to the shopping thingy! I don't really know what the controllers you guys recommend, it seems there are good and bad controllers deppending on the situation, I'm not an hardcore user so I would like to know what drive of about 120gb you recommend me that performs well in a max of 100euros. I've saw already some from the store I am planing to buy them from so I will drop here a list and you could please tell me which you recommend me? 5. Could you please name a few of them in about the price range and quality of the one you said earlier? About 80€ is ok for me and maybe I can get one. But the one you mentioned isn't being sold anywhere near where I live and I don't trust on Amazon (don't kill me please ). I also have some headphones, but I don't use them a lot. I have the 5H-v2 for gaming (they sound poor but they are so damn comfortable for long sessions of gaming!) and some cheap Philips headphones that I just know they have a nice freq range, 32ohms and nice quality for listening music for the price (they were like 30€ or so and they have a good detail on the sound). Edit: So you can see, I can ear more details in the mid range with my phone than with my desktop. Its very noticeable. Also the bass is more aggressive on the desktop. This can be corrected by using the DAC instead of the onboard audio right?
6. I see, but the problem here is that they sounded better on the laptop so I was thinking that maybe the onboard audio in the 970 Pro3 is a bit trash.. But yes, this speakers are not the best of course, but they cost me like 35€ some years ago, they were quite a good deal by the time I bought them. Edit: I saw you pointed me at a DAC, I don't quite know how they work. They work as an external soundcard right? There is any advantage from a soundcard to a DAC or vice-versa?
7. So you think it is not worth the money for the upgrade I will get? Well you are the specialist here so I will accept that! Thank you sir
8. Hi guys. I built a desktop by this summer. My very first one. I came from an Acer laptop. (Aspire 5742G if its worth mentioning) On my desktop I am using the onboard sound from my Asrock 970 Pro3 (rev2.0). I noticed that my sound is kind of bassier on my desktop than on my laptop. Also, the laptop has a little more audible mids than my desktop. The sound is imho more "crisp" on the laptop. Sooooo... because I don't like the "downgrade" and I do tend to use a lot more my desktop now than my laptop, I would like to know if it's worth upgrading my desktop with a soundcard or if I should buy some new speakers (my actual ones, that I am using for this comparison on the sound inbeetween both computers, are the Logitech X-210, they are old but still rocking some amazing sound). I don't have much money available, so it should be like about 60-70€ if just one component or about 100€ if both, but I don't think it is needed to buy a soundcard and speakers... I guess maybe one of them is just enouf? Since the sound is good on these speakers with my laptop and not with my desktop, maybe it should be better to buy the soundcard because the sound quality issue prob comes from the onboard sound. So I would like to know what you recommend me. In case I should buy a soundcard, do you know any good one for a budget? I don't quite need those sorround features and stuff, just one good quality one for my speakers. I listen to a lot of different musics from Rock and Metal to Dubstep and DnB, if that is important. BTW, the bigger PCI slot is with the graphics card and the very tiny one with the Wifi. So the soundcard should fit one of the remaining ones. Sorry if I'm a bit newb in all this things and sorry for my big text and my mistakes (I'm not good in english). Thank you for your patience and help I hope I didn't miss any detail, you can ask me anything tho
9. Well, thank you all The money I'll save with the VTX3D instead of the 7950 I'll just save it till I have some more and hopefully put an SSD on my system, because I really went for a better use performance than for system/app loading speeds for the start, since my money is a bit tight.
10. Oh I see... The shop I was searching on shipps at a very low price for portugal, specially if I chose top pick up on the phisical store (because they don't have stock of most of these stuff on the small phisical shops in Portugal, so they sent from France, I already ordered some stuff there and it's very safe and fast.)

Can someone compare that Club3D card to the VTX3D I've shown up? It seems that they are quite similar, but I can't get that things translated very well, and I don't speak that language EDIT: From what I've understand, the memory on the Club3D is clocked higher than on the VTX3D.. does that take any great advantage? Because I'm not quite fan of buying in other countries and on websites that have strange languages..
11. Hm, that Joker isn't like that VTX3D I've shown? It is a 7870 Tahiti and the specs look about the same. Does it really perform like 7950? Also that shop ships for portugal?
12. Well, I think it isn't, so then I'll go with the 7950.. Thank you for the fast answer mate
13. Hey there. I'll be buying a pc component by component soon. I'll go with an 3570k if that is a matter and 8GB ram, etc.. But I'm undecided in which graphics card should I buy. The monitor I have is a Samsung 24' Full HD LED, it plugs via HDMI and VGA, if that matters. I already have the monitor for a couple of time and it's gorgeous. The shop i'll be buying in will be Pixmania. It's the shop with less expensive cards here in Portugal.. You can check the site, it's in various countries and languages and the prices are globally equal I think so. For now I have these ones in mind: 186.99€ VTX3D Radeon HD 7870 Black Edition - 2 GB GDDR5 204.11€ ASUS GeForce GTX 660 DirectCU II OC - 2 GB GDDR5 249.90€ VTX3D Radeon HD 7950 X-Edition - 3 GB GDDR5 249.99€ MSI GeForce GTX 660 Ti - 2 GB GDDR5 Basically, I wanna know if it's worth to go with the more expensive ones or if the 7870 BE (is a Tahiti LE) is good enouf.. I don't wanna be paying 50€ more for the 7950 if it doesn't get any real advantage.. The reason why I'm asking here I because I can't find any 7870 Tahiti LE benchmarks and comparisons... I can only see the standard 7870 benchmarks.. I also put some Geforce graphics cards because, well, I'm not a very advanced user, and I heard that Geforce drivers are way better to configure than the AMD ones. My actual computer is a laptop with Nvidia graphics and I can say, the drivers are very user friendly, and I did like the new GeForce Experience thingy that helps getting the best configurations for my games. Also, for reference, the games I mostly play are CSGO, LoL, DayZ, and Dota2. I also like to try some other games and I'll be probably buying some of the new popular tititles like Crysis3 soon. Also I'd like the graphics card to handle live streaming while playing LoL, since my Laptop can't live stream without lagging. I hope you can help me getting the right graphics card for me. Sorry for the long post but I wanted to have the most information for you to help me with the most near perfect choice in this limited price range. Also sorry if I posted in the wrong section, I'm new in the forum.
