  1. Found peazip, i thought Apple built compression utility was ok but damn it actually sucks ass, beside not recognizing split archives and merging on uncompression its actually slow as fuck.

Huh, that's a new one to me. I've been using the Unarchiver and Keka

  2. Just finished Cyberpunk, did all endings. Damn, the last time i was this satisfied finishing a game was GTAV when it came out for PC, its a really good game, still some bugs with all the patches though.

  3. Bought a new monitor, from basic 1080p@60hz to 1440p@165hz Gsync compatible, also its IPS.

Dear god, feels like a new world opened, cyberpunk feels like twice as beautiful that in 1080p, and Gsync also feels amazing, i tend to take the tears over the lag and shit frames but not anymore.

  4. Just got delivered my keychron K8 pro with brown switches retiring my 12 year old MS sidewinder X4 also first mech keyboard, already loving the switch out of rubber domes but damn the sidewinder was like low profile in comparison, and i feel like i'm raising my hands a lot, definitely also buying a wrist rest for it.

  5. I rarely browse lists on youtube, but is infuriating that the default behavior is to show the most recent video instead of the whole list. /rant

  6. Like the title reads. Minisforum is showcasing a six liter volumen case design that allows for a GPU to be mounted at the top of the case, like if it were a hat. A design like this basically allow the user to run any kind of GPU regardless of size including the monster that the RTX 4090 is with ease, and since is just a full length PCIe slot, any other kind of expansion device can be used. On the other side there's the disadvantage that is gonna be on the exterior of the case directly exposed to the environment (though given there's people running open cases and the more rare wall mounted PC, this shouldn't be to problematic) And there's the fact that given that this is pretty much a concept, immediately there's things to question, for one Minisforum didn't address how the GPU will be powered and the other is that the slot is the only thing holding the GPU in place, there's not even support braces like test benches or anything, but this isn't a final product anyways so Minisforum should address this issues if they decide to release this to market, right now they are taking feedback on their twitter X post. As far as spec goes, Minisforum say they are working to support both AMD and Intel platform, on AMD they are using the Ryzen 7045HX and on Intel the latest Raptor Lake HX parts, both are mobile platforms but they're at least the fastest mobile platform of both companies and with unrestrained power and better cooling so performance should be close to desktop parts My thoughts Very promising, that's definitely a way to have a small PC but without the size limits on expansion. I've never really been into programming that much, but I've experienced this more times than I'd like to admit.

  9. browsing motherboards right now, jesus fucking christ when did motherboards became so expensive, i swear it feels a decent basic good mobo is the cost of a mid- high end mobo of like 3 generations ago.

All I can say is ..... Welcome to the current PC building world. 😂

Wait until you see the price of motherboards that have nifty QoL features like accessible PCIE lock/unlock button, M.2 clip instead of tiny little bastard screw, Debug code display, bios flashback button.

Oh wait, that last one actually became common now. But yeah I doubt it came cheap.

  10. Barely 30 mins since the tickets went up and everything except regular tickets is sold out ☠️☠️☠️

I'm in Europe so i wasn't even planning on going but damn people we're more thirsty for it that i though.

  11. i still miss their boards, they were ugly AF and sometime the feature set was odd but they were built like tanks, amazing for budget setups.

Add another one to the list of Windows and Micr…

Up until this i was kinda forgiving cause i understand how fucking hard maintaining a operative system is, never mind freaking Windows, but this is just unforgivable cause integrating an MS account down to the way it is now is just bullshit.
  13. Add another one to the list of Windows and Microsoft idiosyncrasies that just fucks up the user.

This case is about one of Windows most annoying features, forcing the use of a MS account. Well i was one of those that decide to play ball with Microsoft requirement and use my MS account on my install and up to today i did not have problems. (This is without taking into account all the privacy stuff, with MS i just don't care cause I've been using a bunch of their services well before they forced this on Windows, i know is not an excuse but like i said at this point i don't care)

That is until today cause i found out about tailscale, so I'm setting up a tailscape network between my pc and laptop for when i might need to use my PC when I'm out, that went fine, but then i try a to start a RDP session from my laptop to my desktop and i can't cause it doesn't accept my password, look it up and its because i have windows hello pin set up, i then go on my way to disable and i can't, it doesn't let me, its grayed out, once again i look up what's wrong and i found a fix, i do the fix which involves messing with some folder permissions, and this gets me worried cause the times i touch files that Microsoft in their infinite wisdoms blocks even for local admin users, shits gonna go bad, (BTW this guide is on Microsoft answer site to add even more salt to the injury), you'll understand if you ever messed up with UWP apps or very early gamepass games.

Anyways i do that, seems that the changes where applied, and now i go to settings and windows hello pin is disabled, nice, all i have to do is log out and login to make sure i don't need the pin anymore, well, here's where shit hits the fan, i go to log in, instead of asking for my password, it goes for my authenticator login, which i did not know it also applied to windows login, now what happens is if i don't do it fast enough, IT FUCKING CRASHES THE LOGIN PROCESS, WHAT THE FUCK!?!?!?! and it wants to setup a pin every fucking time i log in, and it gets better cause sometime if it doesn't crash, IT DOESN'T LOG YOU IN, FFS.

So login in to my desktop is completely fucked cause i wanted to disable windows hello pin to use RDP and because i do my due diligence with my accounts and use 2FA and authenticators the fucking login system is fucked, FFS might as well sit on the largest fucking dildo Microsoft has around.

Now after writing this and venting I'm gonna get me a shower and dinner, spend the rest of the night moving and backing up stuff so tomorrow when i get home, nuke my install and reinstall everything to fix this fuck up, which is going to take me most of tomorrow.

Even if you do things how Microsoft wants you to do, you still get the shaft, and all of this cause i wanted remote desktop working FFS.

  14. Its already April first in some parts of the world, I see sonic twitter announce a murder mystery game about sonic, and obviously I think its a prank cause of the date, except is freaking legit, its on steam and its free...

  15. THANK YOU! I knew I was dealing with concurrency but i'm new to this so i didn't figured out those conditionals on the table functions for it to do something while its fetching the data, also the labels on dispatch queue.
  16. Basically i can't figure out how to get the data of a datatask() call outside the closure, googling and in a lot of tutorials all they do is process the data (aka pass the data to a json decoder when the data is a json request) and assign that to property of the class, and in most cases an empty array of the object obtained from the request, but everytime i do that i always get nil errors of some kind, right now i'm trying to pass the json object into an array but every time i call the array i get index out of bounds, basically is not in the array. i've already tried passing the data to another closure that gets handled when i call the function where i'm dealing with datatask, i've also tried making the request and handling it in a different object and now i don't know what else to try, i guess this forum may be not the best place to ask about programing on apple stuff but i guess i should try, i'd take any help even if just pointing to other places for help. if need i can add the json decodable that i've made and the table cell class but i've already checked the data is parsed correctly and the build fails before reaching the table anyways.

  18. Just finished Persona 5, so long but fun all the way.

  19. You know, i did not need to be aware that LTT forums is 10 years old now... My account dates from june that year but i've been lurking the forum since it began, first days of the forum were such a mess, i remember the forum was down at least once a day in the beginning, that being said it's been fun all the time, now days i just lurk a couple times after work. Ready to lurk for 10 more years and beyond.
  20. I should have been more specific, but when the game came out it ran like ass on anything that wasn't greater that a 10th gen i7, RTX 2070 and the game installed on a NVME SSD. it got patched overtime and it fine now but it was awful for budget rigs and some mid to high end systems on release, look up the steam reviews when the game came out.
  21. Perhaps, but so far Sony ports have been better than that, after the shit that was horizon zero dawn they haven't released ports that bad. I'm just doubtful that after releasing decent ports and being consistent with their release their gonna crap the bed with this one that bad all of a sudden. Though it is also possible that since this is the first PS5 only game they port its easier for them to screw it that all their previous port which came from the PS4, perhaps all their tooling and work in porting has been transforming a PS4 codebase and its libraries, API, etc. to PC equivalents and they are starting over for the PS5.
