  1. But you have to state roughly the amount you would like to spend, saying no budget means people can just find the absolute best option for you even if its realistically not what anyone would buy, and most external cards are not that large, I am curious to know how little of space you have that you cannot fit a box.
  2. yeah afterburner should work, and turn it down to like 80% to start, then try 60% if thats not working
  3. you can turn down voltage, around 60C is good for mining
  4. that is pretty high, is it overclocked? and just look up 6 gpu h97 anniversary
  5. 1 keep your current rig, take the psu out and the hdd out, only really need the ssd for a mining rig, you can buy more gpus and risers and put the gpus on risers, then start it all up and run, you really dont need 8 gb of ram or an i5 but if you already have it might as well use it, for gpus i would recommend 480s/580s but they are overpriced right now so 1070s are a good investment, your motherboard choice was lucky, as its one of few that can support 6 gpus with some tweaks, look it up its a thing, if you want to sell the 390 go ahead but its still a good mining card for the most part, software you can do windows or linux, if you do 6 gpus i think you need linux, not sure though, i run windows and use nicehash as its easy to run and i get paid in bitcoin
  6. oioioioioioioioioio, this over and over sounds hilarious
  7. better yes, but nvidia isnt bad, its like an old car vs new for gas mileage, if you have the old one it works great but its helps to have the efficient one, in the current time amd cards are jacked up in price so im going nvidia
  8. well im already mining with a few nvidia cards and they are going strong so no, im not wasting more power, where are you getting your information
  9. cool, thank you, what if i were to jump to 6? what size psu then.
  10. Looking into building a dedicated mining rig but was wondering what kind of psu i would need for 5 970's in one rig, 1000? 1200? what kind of numbers are we talking
  11. you can sell outright and then buy both of them, lots of people would buy your 1080 and monitor off of you on hardwareswap, it isnt just swapping
  12. Please check your information, a 970 is worse than a 1060, 980 is slightly better than a 1060 but worse than a 1070, and a 980 ti is about even to a 1070
