  1. I'd rather not run my server on Kaby Lake. I setup the new list in the OP, that's probably what I'm going to go with.
  2. For sure man! I'll be sure to post pics here when it's complete
  3. For that price why not just go with a 1050?
  4. Going to change out the CPU and motherboard to Ryzen gear once PCPP updates their database with the new stuff. One thing I want from you guys is to tell me what is going to be my cheapest option for a GPU that can output 4K@60Hz. Won't be using it for gaming, just video playback through Plex. Old List New List
  5. For the GPU you should increasing your budget a little bit and getting a GTX 1050. No external power and should only put you $20 or $30 past your budget. Otherwise get a 750 Ti.
  6. I have no doubt in my mind that AMD will compete with current mid-range Intel CPU's but they won't come near anything Intel has on the higher-end of the spectrum. Especially not for $300.
  7. Very possible that the listings on the site are inaccurate, just thought I'd share them.
  8. Found this while doing some research and couldn't find anything anywhere else regarding these chips. If you try searching for these listings on their site you won't find anything, you have to input the URL manually. Curiously enough, this website doesn't have listings for any other 7th generation chips. i7-7800K: http://procesory.heureka.cz/intel-core-i7-7800k/ - Socket: LGA2011-3 - Base Frequency: 3.4GHz - Boost Frequency: 3.8GHz - Cores/Threads: 6/12 - Cache: 15MB i7-7850K: http://procesory.heureka.cz/intel-core-i7-7850k/ - Socket: LGA2011-3 - Base Frequency: 3.6GHz - Boost Frequency: 4.0GHz - Cores/Threads: 6/12 - Cache: 15MB i7-7900K: http://procesory.heureka.cz/intel-core-i7-7900k/ - Socket: LGA2011-3 - Base Frequency: 3.2GHz - Boost Frequency: 4.0GHz - Cores/Threads: 8/16 - Cache: 20MB i7-7950X: http://procesory.heureka.cz/intel-core-i7-7950x/ - Socket: LGA2011-3 - Base Frequency: 3.0GHz - Boost Frequency: 4.0GHz - Cores/Threads: 10/20 - Cache: 25MB
  9. You'd have to have cards capable of pushing just past 5K resolution. There is this guy on YT that has been able to get 4x Titan X Pascal's to scale at up to 8K resolution but it doesn't work on all games. What you're looking to do would probably be best if you didn't game on all 3 monitors. You could get away with gaming on 2 of them and using the 3rd as something for like a twitch chat for example or maybe watching stuff while playing but even then you'd need something like dual 1080's.
  10. It's nice for lightweight gaming too. I had one in my first PC build and could run most things at 1080p (what it couldn't run would be fine for 720p too).
  11. Compatibility mode doesn't work for a lot of games (ex: Halo 2 Vista, King Kong, etc..).
  12. 1080 SLI and the Titan X Pascal are both fine for 4K gaming. Only reason I chose the Titan X Pascal is because eventually I can SLI the Titan X Pascal and get even more performance.
  13. The OC on the gaming version is so miniscule that trying to justify an extra $25 for the OC is a joke. That being said, personally I would go for the gaming version. Not for the OC but because of the rear IO and I think it looks better than the regular version. It's up to you, really. You can very easily OC the regular to outperform the stock gaming version.
  14. With those games even a 750 Ti will be enough.
  15. Honestly you should be fine with a FreeSync monitor however I've never tested this for myself so take that with a grain of salt. Also, can't you force G-Sync in the NVIDIA drivers?
