Earnhardt reacted to Lurick in Is liquid metal worth it in my case?
Plus liquid metal can/will move which is another reason why it's also done under the IHS and then the IHS is sealed back up to prevent it from leaking out onto other parts over time. I would definitely not recommend just slapping it on the IHS and hoping any amount doesn't leak out and into the socket or onto the GPU.

Earnhardt reacted to Skiiwee29 in 3 different new PSU's won't turn on my computer, but the old one does every time.
The PSU cables are not cross compatible. The pin outs are different from brand to brand and will cause damage to the PSU and components.

Earnhardt reacted to 8tg in Petitioning Graphics Card Manufacturers/Retailers?
This isn’t how businesses work.
Toyota can’t decide, “oh we’re only going to sell our cars to people who will only use them for sub 20 mile a day commutes because people don’t like that we sell to rental car companies”.
They sell a product, the product sells to whoever can buy it. As much as it sucks that these video cards aren’t selling to the market who “deserves” it, the business is not obligated to care in the slightest.
Nvidia is here to make money, the AIBs are here to make money, the outlets and stores are here to make money.
Corporations are not your friends and they do not care about you as a customer, because at the end of the day, as long as someone buys their product, they’re making money. And money is what any business is all about.
These companies in particular are in a pretty powerful position where demand means they really don’t have to care about your business because their products will sell anyway. Even if like EVGA decided all RTX 3090’s are now 3000$ and screw nvidias msrp guidelines, they’ll still sell, their reputation will tank with the gaming community but people will still buy their cards.

Change.org? Seriously? For your entertainment and gaming purposes?
What are they going to change, how economics work? How supply and demand work?
You are in 3 hour conf calls, so I assume you're an adult. May want to start acting like one 😛

It does not say it is not returnable on the Website, you always have 15 days. What does the receipt say?
And If you live on modest means, what are you doing buying a $700+ CPU?

Nope, have been stable for months now. Mine at least are working flawlessly.

Earnhardt reacted to pstarlord in Thinking of getting 5700xt, I have a few questions
I've had mine for about 7 months now. And have experienced very few issues, and that was months ago.
-It's on par with a 2070
-The Drivers are fine enough, but with AMD they typically get better and better and optimized more and more over time.
-2700x won't bottleneck

Earnhardt reacted to Vodad in Thinking of getting 5700xt, I have a few questions
I am running a 5700xt right now. My system specs are in my signature. I have been playing games all day today and running a couple of folding@home work units. It has been sitting at 90%+ pretty much all day and not a single glitch or slow down.

Earnhardt got a reaction from BTGbullseye in Thinking of getting 5700xt, I have a few questions
Running the ASUS STRIX RX5700XT OC with a 2700X and runs like a champ.no driver issues whatsoever, and am extremely happy with them both.I have had 0 black screens and 0 crashes, plays everything I play with no problems, all benchmarks I have done are stable and great. My complete system specs are below. Wouldn't change it for anything.
I haven't played to many AAA games lately, but everything I have played has been flawless.

Earnhardt reacted to SkilledRebuilds in Windows 7 lossing support next week.. what should I do?
I've used "totally legit Win8.1 key" for my main rig W10 key..
Its about 2 years old now... never an issue.
I've used MANY previously installed Win7 keys for Win10 upgrades,..
Simple as, install Windows 10, either use these keys at the start of installation or later when activating manually...
If all else fails, buy a cheap $10 key.

Earnhardt reacted to vanished in ok so will a 5700XT work on pcie 3.0?
I don't have an exact test to show you but I would estimate that the 5700 XT would be roughly a 50% uplift over the 980 Ti, though this will vary by game and I would say that answer is at best +/-10%. As for value vs the Super series, you are correct, the 5700 XT is a better value unless you need the nvidia specific features like NVENC encoder, RTX, etc. or want to exceed that performance level (2080+).

Earnhardt reacted to LIGISTX in AIO recommendation
Anything by corsair is usually a solid bet. I haven't kept up with all their new models, last I knew they were like h110i or h100i, but corsair support and cost is usually a very compelling option. Not the cheapest, but corsair support I have found to be phenomenal over the years.
Also, no real need to change thermal paste. What they come with is totally fine.

Earnhardt reacted to Streetguru in Are 5700XT drivers as good as nvidia
If 3 graphics cards had issues, I'd probably start blaming the motherboard or the power supply.
There is nothing wrong with AMD's drivers in general, especially now with crimson.
