  1. oh if that's the case, that's awesome ! less stress for me to plunder over tonight, if the software can help itself
  2. Hello Everybody i just bought a gtx 770 on a sale (400 danish off regulair price) which is alot btw for us in Denmark ! now it's an Evga Sc ACX 770 and i think it's an major upgrade to my 660 i currently hav in my rig ! (old gpu is going into my brothers pc as a SLI setup) now, when i get the card tomorrow i can easily replace my old card with the new card - physically atleast but what exactly do i have to do in the software ? do i have to remove the old drivers from the 660 (beta version: 332,21) then download the new one after i've installed the card into the pc ? or will The Drivers automatically find that i've inserted a new graphics card into the motherboard ? (just downloaded the newest update to the board aswell) Regards Kaarmaa - all the way from Denmark p.s - notice that english is not my native langauge, so srry for any miss spells or any of the sort !
  3. Hello Everybody Now i'm new into assembling computers, esp because i bitched out and got 1 preassembled with the "interior" i wanted. now my current case is a: Corsair Carbide 300R Midi Tower OEM Now it's and Oem, that's no inside the case paint, no rubber grommits for cable management, and all in all just a dissapointment (didn know the diffrence between Oem and standard, so just chose Oem case) Now i've always loved Cube cases, but never really saw any good ones that i would like to own myself (Denmark don't get all CASES home, we don't have the market for it) But now the Corsair air 540 is launching in Denmark at a price point im comfortable with and i really liked the overview of the case, therefor i've decided that when it comes out imma upgrade to that, with a new Motherboard aswell, and start a Color schemed build, using a MSI m-power mobo (got yellow on it) with a Lightning gtx 770 and some Decent Yellow painted Ram modules (haven't seen some yet) Now that was teh story behind my reasoning. Is there anything you guys would Recomend me to do before i start dissassemble my pc and putting it together in the new case? do i have to downclock my Cpu again ? from 4.5 to stock ? before putting it over into the new Mobo and do i have to buy some new Thermal paste for the cpu after i've taken my Water cooler of it ? Like you guys know, i need some General tips and some guidedance on how to, because i am as said new to Pc assembling. Regards Kaarmaa
  4. *The Samsuing 840 evo is out doing next week - their a pretty damn good deal if u ask me - a little more expensive than the 840 (non pro) but less than a 840 pro
  5. okay many thanks - i've just changed my order to be a: WD Desktop Black 1TB and i am opting to go with two SSD's for games ?
  6. Hello Every body. a few months ago i bought an new pc - where my current specs is: Corsair CX 750M, 750W PSU MSI Z77A-G43, Socket-1155 Samsung SSD 840 Series 120GB 2.5" OEM Where the 120gb SSD from Samsung is my only storage drive, and with all my games now installed on it (where i still have some to install, but missing storage place) now - with my current mobo i can have two SSD's installed and i am looking at upgrade with 1 more SSD from Samsung. but as i am also gonna edit and make videos for games for youtube uplaods. so i've added in a ekstra normal Harddrive for mass storage. my new upgrade list from my online retailer is: Samsung SSD 840 Series 250GB 2.5" OEM2x Akasa SATA3 Kabel 50 cm Right Angle and a Seagate Barracuda® 2TB now since i've only used SSD's is there anything speciel i need to know about the standard hdd's or are they pretty much the same speed all of them ?
  7. My plan for the next 24 hours: Let Prime95 run overnight total of 24 hours in all Run Prime95 in blend test for a total of 6 hours? .... Profit ? can any1 approve this newbies, newly set plan for the night? ;)
  8. define a while :)? got work at 15:00 (eu time) and will get up at 9:00 in the morning because im thinking of letting prime95 run the night over (total 17 hours)
  9. so turn of Prime95 (stop it) and then start it again with Blend instead? this is my very first overclock and i really don't want to mess it up at all. and what exactly is dram voltage which i configured under the bios aswell - thou it had to do with core voltage, but i am only using 1248 core voltage? :/
  10. Hello everyone. recently i made a post about worth of overclocking when i play at 1080 only, the respinses was a clear yes. so i watched tech tips (ncix) guide on overclocking a 2600k intel i7 cpu, and i watched it carefully several times on my laptop besides me, while i was in the bios (Msi z77a-g43 motherboard) and i began, first at 4.2ghz and my pc started perfectly no problems at all and my temps was looking good (25 iddle and 62 unbder full load for 30 minutes). so i started to turn up the pace a little, and went straight at 4.4ghz, (iddle 28 and load 65) and ran prime95 for 45 minutes here, my result made me feel comfortable and i restarted the bios and turned my oc up to 4.5ghz, due to a respons in my previous thread - where a fellow member said that with my watercooler (Cooler master seidon 120mm) i could probally sqeez about 4.2 - 4.5 ghz out of my cpu. so i left it here and went on to work for 7 hours. now after 7 hours of stress testing with prime95 im looking this: 4500mhz 1248 core voltage (sometimes going to 1256 core voltage) Temperaturs, using Realtemp gt 3.70 im looking at these numbers: for 7 hours of prime95 with real temp gt open: 54 (with 57 maximum) 62 (64 maximum) 62 (64 maximum) 59 (62 maximum) am i safe to proceed the test for another 18 hours ? Regards Kaarmaa
  11. Well when you put it that way - not that i'm a broke kinda fellow, but free performance is free performance :P
  12. you my fine sire is a real Hero i play skyrim - Stracraft Crysis 3 on a regular Basis (3-4 times a week) now i've brought some Noctua fans to reduce noise (girlsfriends influence on this one) and to maybe improve from the standard fan on my water cooler - will it aid anything towards the oc or ? and ty for the 80 degree tip - because i was also a little unsure about that part :D !
  13. My Cooler atm is liquid Cooling: Cooler master (Cooler Master Seidon 120M Køler BULK) i've went Wc for the reason of overclocking, but i got a little tweaked around if it was worth for a guy playing at 1080 pixels and then i've seen alot of guys (and girls) saying that it's worth it for games that uses alot of your Cpu - then i go like, but which games is that ? :/?
