  1. @luke_lafr were the tests run with power saving mode in Crimson on or off? Turning it off makes all the difference in the world for throttling, it's basically a stutter on/off switch for whatever card you're running.
  2. You could decrease your multiplier for a bit instead of buying two CPU coolers, you would be able to afford your water cooler sooner.
  3. It's for ln2 overclockers. It's passive, so no moving parts to fail, low profile so it doesn't get in the way (it's even tapered away from the CPU for extra clearance), it outputs DVI and HDMI, it uses motherboard power, so no extra power cables in the way, and it has no sharp edges so you don't cut your hands when you're working around it on an open platform. It's a tidy, reliable, convenient little package so overclockers can focus on their CPU/memory alone and not worry about their GPU.
  4. Are you happy with 80 degrees? 80 degrees is what you'll get with a 212 evo.
  5. A Thermalright Macho X2, it outperforms everything posted so far and it's under $60
  6. Is the red bar on the VRM heatsink (below) removable? My graphics card has a VERY thick backplate, to the point where the slot above it is almost unusable. In pictures like the second one above, it looks like it will definitely interfere. Here's my system with an AC wifi card installed behind the GPU:
  7. 3 S12s have more airflow than two A14s. 140*2=280 vs 107*3=321 m3/h If you go with 3,000 RPM industrial fans it's 540 m3/h for the 140s and 570 m3/h for the 120s
  8. Seasonic SSR-650RM http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151118
  9. @nicklmg Are the benefits from YT Red exclusives good enough to have it there? Vessel's lack of 1440p streaming is a major disappointment, and they must be using lossy compression or something because colors in vessel content look terrible.
  10. OK Mr. random consumer, go make a PC-06S out of 16g aluminum. You have a budget of $50. That includes time, materials, case components, hardware, tools and lawyers to get you a patent. Lian Li cases often put form before function, as well as the fact that aluminum is more challenging to manufacture with. People don't buy Lian Li cases because they think they're priced competitively or offer the best functionality, they buy them because they like them. Did Lian Li kill your pet gecko or something? What's your deal?
  11. With a lian-li case you're getting the obvious and tangible aspect of full aluminum and tempered glass construction. Aluminum is EXPENSIVE to manufacture things with.
  12. So what exactly will 100W into a pair of headphones do, then?
  13. It outputs at line level, it will turn your drivers to ash. Since they're only 25Ω, using an amplifier won't improve the sound anyway
  14. The PCH is actually that little green chip with an exposed die on the bottom interconnect board. The ribbon connector from the interconnect board to the mainboard says PCH on the interconnect board end because the PCH is on the interconnect board, same with those connecting the I/O daughterboard to the interconnect board. Correct, there's an annotation in the video that says so
  15. Great! It looks like your PC doesn't come with any fans, so adding a couple will improve cooling in a huge way. However as far as I can tell only the rear fan is 92mm while for the front you will need an 80mm fan.
  16. Based on the case only being 7" wide, it supports 92mm max with holes for an 80mm fan as well.
  17. CPU: FX-8370 at 4.3 GHz GPU: Sapphire R9 390X at 1125 MHz Memory: 16GB 2133 MHz Score: 8.5 Also /r/Vive already has a massive database of steamvr scores... https://www.reddit.com/r/Vive/wiki/systems
  18. Thermalright Silver Arrow IB-E, it's $80 on amazon and performs similarly to a NH-D15
