senpaidev's Achievements

  1. I have a laptop and a workstation. Both have wifi in them. I have connected both on the same wifi as well as connected both to each other using a single cat 5 ethernet cable. Both have gigabit internet NICs. The way I have connected them using ethernet is by assigning ip address of one machine as the gateway of the other. Say Laptop has IP 192.168.1.2 & Gateway 192.168.1.1 Workstation has IP 192.168.1.1 & Gateway 192.168.1.2 This way both the pc's can see each other on the same network even when the wifi is turned off. The problem arises when I'm transferring files between them, either windows switches to wifi mid way or when file transfers happen using the ethernet I'm unable to use the internet. I have also tried changing the metric. IP should be not an issue as for the wifi I have assigned them IP in the range 192.168.1.1XX What should I do inorder to make windows use ethernet for file sharing and wifi for internet.
  2. Sorry, I accidentally pressed enter and couldn't post my entire query.
  3. I have a workstation with the following config, Lenovo D20 board 2x Xeon X5670 16 GB RAM Quadro 600 And I know Quadro 600 is a bad choice of card for the setup, but thats what I could really afford. I recently started using Unreal Engine 4 to learn game development and I've noticed that most of the times the memory is filled up. The 1 GB memory is less and since I run a monitor off it, some memory is used there as well. I have an old spare Quadro FX 1500 (actually a bunch of them) lying around. Can I use it to drive my monitor and Quadro 600 to render/ do the rest of the work. I have a dual boot setup of win 10 and ubuntu 16.04
  4. I did have an earlier system image, but then it was overwritten during my recent schedule backup. To make matters worse, I had choosen to keep only the most recent system image backup. I'll give @george357's solution a shot. I had already done a sfc which returned no errors, so I guess I'll give dism a shot now.
  5. Are there any solutions besides clean installing win 10. It is a pain to install drivers and the rest.
  6. So I have a Dell Latitude E5430. It worked quite smoothly on Win 10 AE. Boot time was like 15 secs ( I have an Samsung 830 Pro SSD). Apps opened quickly and overall it was quite cool as well. I got the Win 10 CU update notification and so I updated it. After the update I have been facing a couple of drawbacks, any solutions: List of Issues No Windows Ding Sound on changing the volume Overall higher system temps even when idle Boot time is over 1 min App loading times are more Game loading times significantly increased, even with game mode on.(I have turned it off, since) Task Manager takes a really long time to start (10 -15 secs) After every shutdown I get a system error sound, but on checking the error logs there is no entry. My system specs Intel Core i5 3320M @ 2.6GHz 8GB DDR3 @ 1600Mhz 256 GB SSD SAMSUNG MZ7PC256HAFU-000H1 (OEM) Intel HD 4000 I have also attached a CPU Z summary if that helps. SENPAI-PC.txt
  7. I'd like to win one of those cool mice because my mouse the trusty Logitech RX300 is almost dead. It doesn't register clicks these days and requires paper (none of the fabric I tried underneath it works) surface. A mouse as awesome as Sagitta Spectrum will make a great replacement for this dying hardware. FPS games like CS:GO are almost unplayable and so I have been playing games like Undertale that don't require a mouse. Thanks a lot for this opportunity. I'd be really happy if get this mouse.
  8. I'd love to have a Roccat Kiro. Reason: I built a new system and all the stuff is pretty cool, except the keyboard and mouse. Though I don't believe much in precision/ gamer grade keyboards, I'd certainly appreciate the versatility of a high precision mouse. You can not only use it for gaming but also for graphics and designing purposes. And that is what I do most of the time, at least I think I do Roccat Kiro would be pretty useful for my application and so I'd like to win it.
