    KeyCaps

Small tip : Try not to get white ABS. They will turn yellow when exposed to UV rays overtime. http://deskthority.net/wiki/Keycap_construction for short brief. I'm not sure posting ebay stores here is against the rules. Just waiting for an answer before I pull the trigger. Some single keycaps might cost as high as the keyboard price depending on the user decision.
  2. Previously, I bought this keyboard for myself at a special price @ $110. Non-discount was $150 last time. Now I'm going to buy this as a birthday present for my brother. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004Z0XS0K/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A1DBZV5OTKUF0U Anyone can take a look at the current price tag and tell me why is it so expensive compared to the past price tag? My brother has made a decision not to change to other keyboard. But I can persuade him to change if following requirements come to his needs: 1, He's a nocturnal touch-typist player. 2. Numpad(he does a lot calculation on a calculator and got influenced doing calculation on a numpad) 3. Dislikes : a) To see legends in front of his eyes. B) Backlits. c) Macro. d) Large keyboard chassis that occupy the desk space. e) Fancy frills around the keyboard. EDIT : He also dislikes glossy surface that get his hand and fingers stains all over them.
  3. http://www.amazon.com/ASUS-Orion-PRO-Gaming-Headset/dp/B00AYA31P2/ref=lh_ni_t?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER Nice headset, I suspect retractable mic always have funny voice coming out. You can try to mount modmic on them.
  4. http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Illuminated-Ultrathin-Keyboard-Backlighting/dp/B001F51G16 Have backlits and palm rest. One of the speed typist are using them for shorter travel point and acceleration. EDIT : Can't think any of them that comes with while/alu chassis keyboard. It might cost a bomb.
  5. Never shoot them with turned on LED lights before. So, here it is: Full image of the keyboard: I fold up an unused cloth roughly 20mm thick and shove them in a PE plastic and put my heavy Filco on them to dampen the noise of my blue switch. Keyboard doesn't even move while I'm typing. Keyboard weight just make me proud to use the keyboard on any slippery surface. EDIT : I must warn you not to click the image. This is the best view you can get or you can zoom out as out as possible without clicking the image.
  6. Hmm, if the warranty isn't void yet or expire. You could RMA it if you feel it isn't right or malfunction. But whatever you do, don't unscrew or dismantle anything on the GT 780.
  7. You mean you want a keyboard replacement on the laptop? I heard some people do this thingy. You should try it and see if you like it or not.
  8. Reminds me of Justin Bieber hates. No offense, don't shoot me At least I got their large mouse pad.
  9. I have a few membrane keyboards laying at the side of my desk on the floor. All of them abandoned because the rubber domes worned out. I don't think I'll be buying membrane keyboards anymore. But I still consider getting a scissor switch keyboard for typing acceleration.
  10. Filco, Rosewill, Steelseries, Das. In my country, the most common mechanical keyboard are Razer(which is a gaming keyboard). Most of my friends love their product. But for me, I'd like to try something rare and different. Due to lack of wholesaler and resellers, at base price for a ninja blue full sized used to be $150. Now it changed to $200+. I can't compare the stock-ins towards other country. Rosewill is decent here and stocks in regularly. Steelseries and Das are hidden away. Some keyboard enthusiast on the local forum should know them well. Rosewill is your best bet at a decent price. If you want glossy chassis, then go for Das. Steelseries for media buttons(they also have L shaped enter keys which makes some users uncomfortable using their keyboard and some other strange key arrangement).
  11. Finally the thread is pinned. Gonna update my keyboard as soon as those fancy cosmetic arrives
  12. Was wondering, is APEX using scissor switch or membrane?
  13. I second this, if you want a good lasting ones get a hard mousepad. I've been using them for 5 years and abandoned them one side for several week for now.
  14. How about Miami keycaps? If she don't mind about the texture and feeling of the keycap material, go for this http://elitekeyboards.com/products.php?sub=access,cherrymxkeys
  15. I love to type on my Filco Ninja blue switch. After a few months, I realize that my mechanical keyboard is precious. There is difference when you go to mechanical keyboard and switch back to membrane. So far from my experience from using them for several months. It seems like I only go back to membrane and rages when I playing a serious typing game and FPS gaming. In my opinion and feelings, if the money isn't bothering or hurt you each time stabbing the keys down on the metal plate and planning to buy new mechanical keyboard in the future, then go for the rough use. This is only my experiences when using the mechanical keyboard vs membrane. Membrane is just cheap and I like to rage press it freedomly anytime I want .
  16. I guess there's no best of both worlds for headphone + mic sound quality. Anyway, is there a huge difference in terms of voice output between retractable mic and non-retractable mic? I think I rather get a good audio output headset instead of having a mod mic on them.
  17. Budget @ $150(max is $160 if it's the nasty way that it doesn't meet the criteria I wanted). I need help choosing a headset that has 7.1 surround sounds. Using them mainly for gaming, some skype and listening music. I heard some headset allows you to switch to stereo and 7.1, which is good for not just gaming, but overall usage. And also, my friend was using the kraken(not sure which edition), his voice sounds like toad to me when he was skyping with me and some few friends around there. So yeah, I need a good headset that comes with high quality voice out of the mic. I was looking at the ROG Orion Pro and the Vulcan Pro and it's very tempting because of the cushion above your head and beside your ears. I still have no idea hows their output voice coming out on the Orion Pro and Vulcan Pro. Any other brand suggestion is welcomed, One last thing, if it's possible, I need a headset that has 90 degree rotation on those ear cuffs horizontally and adjustable height headband(am I calling it the wrong way?) Anyway, help wound be appreciated. I will comment back if I'm missing something else. Now I'm going back to work.

  19. I owned a few mousepad lately. So far they just went dusty and tends to turn paler as time passes. For now, I'll be throwing them away when I receive the new ones suggested by you guys. Here's what I need " 1. If possible, I want it as large as the razer goliathus extended mouse pad.(Doesn't have to be large, as long as it maxes out the variety option of the mousepad sizes given on the site) 2. Repellent to dust(doesn't affect the mousepad texture after a long time usage.) 3. Waterproof{not necessary, #2 is acceptable) Well, I think that's enough for now.
  20. My whole life was a lie that believing it was real gold and copper and some other colors I couldn't remember on that cinn iron man keycap.

  24. I want something that can feel all the way down each keystroke is pressed, touch-type(F and J marks). And compact(without any large bulge around the keyboard chassis). Well, that's all I need
