  1. G600 user here, side buttons seems useful to me especially binding alt+tab, ctrl+alt+delete(never use this for windows 7/8(have both on them)), and some other special buttons. Nothing much, if you can find a way how to use it then it would be useful :D
  2. Not sure if it relates but you can find out here . If it's not related, you can find other methods in his channel.
  3. I game with my membrane keyboard while the blue switch mechanical keyboard for typing. And I don't see the advantage there when playing games with mechanical keyboard except for the NKRO. Most of the time, the max keystroke I press is 2 to 3 keys. Unless I'm playing a combat fighting game which needs me to press many keys to combo...but meh, I stopped playing combat fighting games long time ago. From my point of view, keyboards have many keystroke and I don't see the need of using them to game because most of the time I'll be holding W all the time and some additional keystroke to make them run faster etc etc. Long story to short, honestly, I personally use my old membrane keyboard to game while the blue switch mechanical keyboard to type and lastly I admitted myself, I feel orgasm when I use those blue switch mechanical keyboard :D.
  4. I'll bump this thread whenever it goes down :D Good luck for making the video
  5. First thing first, do you prefer keyboards with macros or a compact ones? The browns has a tiny bump feedback to let you know that the keys are registered. Always test out the switches you like before buying them. Well, my place here allows me to buy them but it's not returnable. So yeah, find customer reviews before buying them or you can ask some Ducky shine II owners here to find out. Lastly, there is a reason for choosing mechanical keyboards. I'll go for it because of the anti ghosting/NKRO(which you need to have a PS/2 port). Some brands out there comes with a USB to PS/2 adapter which allows you to use PS/2. Here's what I can suggest, Ducky, Filco, Cooler Master. I strongly suggest to get a wired mechanical keyboard because if it doesn't take good care, it will die just like the Rosewill keyboard I owned last time. You can check some reviews on them if you curious. Good luck.
  6. Last time I was drooling to get a Rosewill keyboard. Fortunately, I heard some bad reviews on newegg.com. Many complaints about the USB just slip off and died after some time. Then I try to search a keyboard design looks like Rosewill, compact and just what I need. Then I stumbled upon Filco, wired, and solid looking. USB prevents NKRO and up to 6 keys maxed to press down. So they provide a USB to PS/2 adapter in the package with it. And now, I'm falling in love with it eventhough there is no backlit under those keys. I'm going to force myself not to see the keys while typing, so I get the Ninja version. :)
  7. Filco has provided a PS/2 adapter which converts USB to PS/2 which prevents keyboard ghosting. Anyway, there is something called PS/2 to USB adapter in computer shops. It looks like this : USB vs PS/2 Some keyboards like to use PS/2 connectors instead of USB, bundled along with these keyboards is a USB adapter, but you lose the NKRO feature, why? In most cases, a standard keyboard will use the standard driver on Windows, which is not designed for high end gaming keyboards. Manufacturers can create their own driver that allows for more key strokes, which is why some keyboards have NKRO using a USB connector. It is easier for companies to simply use a PS/2 connector, it may have a tiny amount more overhead on the system, but allows for a simple NKRO experience. If you are unsure whether your keyboard has NKRO, simply look at what connector it uses, only a few gaming keyboards feature a USB connector with NKRO, so identifying what you have should be easy. Filco USB to PS/2 adapter can be found here :
  8. I would do like this : https://www.google.com/#hl=en&sclient=psy-ab&q=azio+levetron+gm2000+issues&oq=azio+levetron+gm2000+issues&gs_l=serp.3...2312.10031.0.10449.28.22.2.0.0.3.181.1392.18j4.22.0...0.0...1c.1.7.psy-ab.laquZhchIB4&pbx=1&fp=1&biw=1280&bih=899&bav=on.2,or.r_cp.r_qf.&cad=b before buying them. So far so good, no complaints. From my experience using a high DPI mouse that allows to set the DPI, I'll go for 2000 DPI (if beyond will be 2500 max). Unless I'm using a large screen display with 2560 x 2160 and beyond, I will increase the DPI of the mouse beyond 2500. I would say, it worth to give it a shot. EDIT : Currently using the Logitech G600 Gaming mouse and I totally love it. DPI range gap customizable 200~8200DPI (Originally sticks at 1000dpi).
  9. Try resetting your router to default gateway? I'm a lazy guy so I go for that :). If you're hardworking enough, see if there is someone touch the QoS section or not. Nevermind just check the activity logs. Hope it helps.
  10. Try to find the profile file location of the software and delete them then try to change again.
  11. As title says, since Razer Orbweaver exists. There are macro keys just like the size of a numpad. I was wondering, is there any way to make it primary and secondary keyboard? Primary keyboard has normal keystrokes while the secondary keyboard(membrane keyboard?) is a full customizable macro keys. Mechanical on PS/2 port and membrane on USB port.
  12. Have a bad feeling on detachable wire mechanical keyboards. Anyway, it always good to see some customer reviews first before buying them.
  13. To me, if my mouse already have macro buttons, I rather go for the expensive Filco blue switch. Just a suggestion though, if there is macro buttons on the other side, that's already enough for me. :)
  14. To me, I always wanted to try something new. Example, the clicky feedback sounds each time you type on. They're extraordinary feedback sounds compare to membrane keyboards though. That's my opinion. Again, I always asked myself, if I use them for gaming, I'll go for brown. BUT, will I go for hybrid typing same time playing and use every single key what I've paid for? Yes, I'll go for it. But in my mind, I always wanted some extraordinary feedback sound that membrane keyboards doesn't have the sound on them. It's not just the sound, the tactility feels right compare to the browns. Well, not forcing to choose blues. It depends on the individual. Try various switches from the shops. Eventhough there's no shop selling mechanical keyboards in your area, try them from your friends. Good luck
  15. Wired or wireless? AFAIK I heard many reports on the detachable wire from the keyboards. After some time they died. Nothing much, they just died somehow. Don't know why.
  16. Yesterday I was reading this article http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=11640.0. Similar to what you did there excluding the opposite spacebar and some other methods I didn't bother to read. Anyway, I do realize if you put any firm rubber materials under the keyboard, it feels quieter compare without rubber. Just like the hard disk racks from one of the CM CPU cases, rubber at the sides prevent vibration and noise. I saw Linus made a mouse pad review here . Best way to reduce the sound when you're typing. :)
  17. Which do you prefer? Mechanical keyboards w/ macro keys or just a compact mechanical keyboard. I do have a thread I made and still no answers yet. Maybe you can find the answer there.
  18. I'm confused here, I do know someone said because of build quality and armor durability. The cherry mx switches are the same sitting on every boards. If you were given 2 option to choose a (compact, expensive and no macro keys on the mechanical keyboards) and (pad resting, cheap with 20 macro keys on the mechanical keyboards) which one do you choose? EDIT : Both are cherry mx brown :)
  19. 20% gaming and 80% typing for me. Quitted some MMORPG/FPS due to gambling features(usually happens few months after the CBT) Maybe blues suits me. I have alternative keyboards for me to use for gaming :). Heavy offline FPS games like Crysis, AC3 and others maybe I can take time to learn how to play them with blue switches =P.
  20. Mouse - Logitech G600. 200~8200 adjustable DPI with 20 buttons with some programmable buttons at the side and the G-shift button also allows me to custom it. Its like heaven to me because I can bind 3 keystrokes on 1 button on the mouse eg : ctrl + alt + del. I'm having a hard time to decide which cherry mx switch for my keyboard. Maybe I need some time to think before buying them. Either blue or brown. :(
  21. Dude. There's no reason AT ALL to save your mouse like that :P Let's say you clicked a 1000 times a day. Which in it self is more than most people click. And also you might be clicking less or not even at all on some days. It'll still last you 8000000/1000 = 8000/365 = 21 years. I promish you that something else will break it before the switches wear out. :) Was my birthday present though. Cause it really impresses to me if a gift is gifted by someone.
  22. Still don't get the question. Mind to elaborate it?
  23. Okay so I purchased the G600 and it finally arrived today and some questions also answered in what-is-durability]this thread before it arrive. So here's my question, is there any harmful effects, conflicts etc if I plug 2 mouses or keyboards at the same time? Doing this because I'm trying to take good care of my G600. Sometimes I do play some offline FPS which needs you to spam click to shoot and reload. And yeah, my Filco Cherry MX Brown will arrive soon around end of this month. Some experience from y`all will be appreciate :)
