I like the idea, but the PSU and Dual Core Processor isn't exactly ideal. But I like the rest.- 21 replies

So I've been recruited to teach a tech class to upper level elementary students which involves building PCs for the library to use. However, the people in charge haven't given me a concrete budget for the project, and I decided to pretty much low-ball the crap out of it. So I got a PC build that would turn on and run Internet Explorer for about $170. It's definitely not worth the price, but it's a possibility. I then put together the idea of a $250 build that would be much better (still not that great) But it would last for a long time and still run pretty well for what they want it used for. If you guys could help me with other options, then that would be awesome! It's just that they don't really give me decent information on the structure of the class. Prepare for updates!

Is Collecting Dumpster PC parts worth It?
ptcgplayer replied to Cepheus_001's topic in General Discussion
I feel like the garage-sale type scenario would be kind of fun -
I mean, I've had mine since 2006-07, and it isn't quite dead. However, when I do use it (as I have a PC now) I have noticed some pretty dramatic performance hits in more demanding games like BF4. Things like frame drops, god-awful texture loading speeds, and just unholy loading times. I'm probably gonna replace it with a HTPC build soon enough. Goodnight sweet prince

Now that I look at it, you might be right. Thankfully this was about a month ago and I don't think we've fought since, So that anger must be gone. And I can plug in my PC without getting yelled at

When I plugged my PC into my TV so that my friends could play some games at my house, and my sister enters the room and screams at me because apparently I could break my television because it is meant for watching TV... I tried to explain how monitors and TVs are kind of interchangeable if it has HDMI but she only got more angry! It was a struggle man.

Lol my side panel used to bulge because my cable management was absolute trash

In my first build, I had trouble with a WiFi Card that's expansion port plate (idk the term for it so that's what I'm going to call it) was to long to fit in my case, so I had to use a Dremel tool to cut it to size .
