OddlyShapedTree reacted to ShearMe in What amp should I get for Polk Audio TSx220B?
Lol, that's a car amp.
If you want to use the speakers for a long and loud party, you might want a more beefy amp, but it is really hard to beat price to performance of the Lepai for most regular use.

OddlyShapedTree reacted to prodigydoo in How to run higher than the maximum resolutions on your display
ok so im now at 2560x1440 and things are smaller, but for regular desktop use, everythings just more blurry.. also I noticed since doing this that every now and then a faint 'scanning' sort of effect is going on on my seccond monitor which is not downsampled and is runnin off dvi a to bga..
text is blurrier.. everything is blurrier... im gonna give games a shot now since that seems to be what this is targeted for

We'll see.
Nothing Is final until the end really so if anyone has any input or suggestions please let me know!
I have two ideas in mind on how I am going to place everything. I will be ordering the case soon and before I have all the other stuff so I will take measurments then and have a more clear idea on what I have to work with.
Idea 1
Idea 2
I kind of like the first one better but like I said I will make a decision once I am able to see the case in person. Any sort of ideas would be very appreciated thank you.

OddlyShapedTree reacted to dizmo in What sort of subwoofer should I get for Audio Engine A2+?
An audioengine one seems like it'd be a good match.

OddlyShapedTree reacted to brownninja97 in What sort of subwoofer should I get for Audio Engine A2+?
dont audioengine make a sub, it assume that sub is tuned to accompany their satellites

Good subs are very expensive. I think the audioengine sub is a good one. I believe it's $300 though.

OddlyShapedTree reacted to jacobffeldman in What Speakers should I get for $300
I generally listen to Rock, Folk, Country, Random Access Memories (the only electronic music i have ever liked). Just to be clear by the way, i am not saying the bass is bad, i am saying that it can sometimes overwhelm the other frequencies because of how punchy and realistic it is. On a scale of 1-10, 1 being etymotic er-4 neutral and 10 being just a sub woofer, i would give it a 3.5.

OddlyShapedTree reacted to NannerBeans in What Speakers should I get for $300
Those are quite highly rated and often the speakers to beat. Can't go wrong with Audioengines. However, there are Swans on Massdrop for a really good price but those are bigger speakers. What size are you looking for?
SP2500 lose to a lot of offering from real audio companies in that range and a sound card won't do anything since the speakers themselves are powered.

I'm really satisfied with the 750D. Though I didn't end up using any of the SSD mounts in the back I just threw it in the HDD cage to make the wiring simpler. I would use them if I only had SSDs in my build. Other than that once I measure everything out I will order the Water cooling parts!!!

OddlyShapedTree reacted to Zeal in Project Zeal
It's been about 2 months since my last update. Been a bit busy with stuff (and throwing money at keyboards/keycaps) and due to holidays, it took a while for online ordered items to arrive.
I started making custom cables & sleeved half of my 24pin yesterday. Forgot to take pictures yesterday though!
My Silverstone TD02 cooler I ordered off Amazon.com took 22 days to arrive due to holidays and such...Decided to cut and recrimp the CPU pump cable as well and swap out the disgusting sleeve...
Removed stock intel heatsink... The heatsink's retention screws literally cracked into pieces upon unscrewing it! Fitting the 45mm thick rad in the front of my case as there won't be any room for the fans if I were to mount it on the to of my case. Debating whether I should use it as an intake or outtake.
Fitting the heavy rad upside down on my front panel. Luckily, the AMD screws fit perfectly in the fan spots!
Original loose black sleeve & horrible heatshrinking:
Cut the wire, removed heatshrink...opening her up!
PCB and pump inside. The pump screws were pretty tight so I didn't open it up to look at the pump.
If anyone's curious, here's the inside of the TD02
Slipping a tiny amount of heatshrink to give the pump the "heatshrinkless" look to it!
Pump wire pretty much complete!
Sadly, the black and red wire still show a bit. Shouldn't be too noticeable from a distance though. Can't really tug on the sleeve too hard either with the small heathsirnk holding it in place. Having 3 28AWG wires in one sleeve also doesn't help with making the sleeve tighter since the sleeve is flattened instead of being round.
Will update tomorrow with 24pin completed hopefully

This looks like a potentially interesting build. I would go with the second configuration.
