I could expand all day so here goes
He installed 2x8gb ddr4 3000mhz ram and he believes the issue arose after that, When he goes to local swedish newsite Aftonbladet.se and uses the mouse wheel to scroll the screen goes green, and he has noticed a slowdown in games as if they are not performing as they used to. He has very little to no experience in building a pc .. i spent 2 whole days over the phone trying to get him to build it.. I have asked him to check the dvi/hdmi cabel is plugged in all the way etc also if the gpu is situated correctly or firmly.
It was working fine prior to the installation of the ram and he had ample performance on his games etc..
It could be the newest nvidia drivers causing the issue or the security updates for win 10 but then i should have seen them if it was the security updates etc ... his spec´s are:
I7-6700k
Nvidia gtx 1070 (blower/reference) Previously in an acer Gx (ryzen prebuilt)
16gb ddr4 3000mhzIm clueless to as what it could be since im living to far away
Did he tried to get new installed ram out of the pc and see if problem still persists ?

Stupid question, but are you still using a 32bit OS?EDIT: never mind, I didn't see it was 10 in the title.
It wasn't stupid.Windows 10 does have a 32bit version of OS.

So I just moved my home and put the pc under the plane's load. And when I arrived and plugged it in to my new home, the pc is somewhat louder than it originally is, like there's this humming coming from the pc that isn't there before. Upon further inspection, i noticed that my gpu fan is always spinning at all time even while idle and it produces a coil whining noise even though i'm not playing game and is just using web browser. What could possibly happen? Did loading my pc under the plane somehow damage the gpu? Also, fyi, in my original home i use a high quality power strip while here i use a cheap one. Could this be that the powerstrip is low quality and does not deliver stable power?
Maybe your PC is running some mining software that you are not aware of. I would recomend to scan your PC if it has some Malware, or reinstall Windows...

Coffee Lake what?
That Coffee Lake is fixed against Meltdown and Spectre.

No this is something old for a minor issue that Skylake and Kaby Lake had with hyper-threading on specific workloads, Coffee Lake comes out of the box with it fixed.
Intel Forcing to update to newest hardware ? And What about server class cpus ? What if someone on VMs or running algorithmic programs that are used to absolute max can see degradation in peformance ?

Yeah it is good. Except it will not work... You can't use coffee lake cpu in this mobo...

And how about you? As a private person, will you be updating BIOS?
Hmm, Because i have intel CPUs on both of my stations No i think not, definitely not BIOS, i'm not using my stations for work, only for gaming so... That is just life a of a IT Specialist at my work. 2 Laptops, 1 Private, and 1 for a work

Yeah, I imagine this must be tough for workplaces. Will you be updating BIOS on all of your computers in the office?
Well, if there will be any Bios update at all... We have new Lenovo stations with I5 6600 vPro, 8GB Ram and 256 Samsung SSD (not Evo , just some cheap ass Samsungs) So i'm not that afraid of performance loss (since they are not stressing it enough anyway) But still, more concerned about security breaches so... yeah. Definitely will be looking for any updates from Lenovo and deploying the update across all PCs.

Asked a friend of mine, he got the update for his windows 7. So yeah, untrusted website from now on.
At least that is some good news from it, because at my workplace we have like 200 Computers just on Windows 7 Enterprise. One step that could went wrong or some update that wouldn't install and everything could go really bad... We are planing to upgrade to Win 10 Enterprise but that is not now, not in near future.

I read that all supported windows version will get the update. Where did you read this?
Nvm, just one of my trusted sites for it news... Well, untrusted now

Just now, spree said:
Well all supported windows will get the update. So that is windows 7 and later.
Can't answer your other questions, hopefully someone else knows.
Well, i read somewhere that Microsoft is taking a gamble and they are updating ONLY Win 8.1 and Win 10. So...
-
Little bit off topic , but what will be happening on all PCs that are not updated on Win 10 ? (Win 7, 8.1...) And what about Legacy Cpu/MB ? Will they get their BIOS updated ? That's Really my question here... As I'm afraid of data loss at my work..

I have been running two 1080tis in SLI for the last several months. I haven't done much tweaking in the way of custom profiles through NVIDIA Inspector, basically just going with the settings in NVIDIA Control Panel. Across two completely different setups (Z270 and a 7700K, and X399 with a 1950X) and two different sets of cards (EVGA 1080ti FTW3s and Asus Strix 1080tis) I see inconsistent frametimes that lead to hitches and stutter. Sometimes I see hitches that happen for a half a second where the game will stop and then continue. Any tips on what I could do to remedy this? I'm using a 144Hz panel with G-Sync running at 1440p and I see people with similar setups do much better FPS wise. Ghost Recon Wildlands, Watch Dogs 2, Witcher 3, Assassin's Creed Syndicate and several other games seem to average out at around 70FPS on Ultra settings without all of the extra bells and whistles. I feel like with two 1080tis I should be doing better.
Have you tried running it with only single GPU ? From what i've read, SLI scaling is very bad on Pascal GPUs... Like 40-50% on GPU1 and the same on GPU2..
**No SLI Expert here

i never had a problem with DDU, and im on a 2 year old windows instal lel
K, will give it a shot, thanks !
Just now, Ryujin2003 said:I haven't heard of it, but Nvidia may also have it's own uninstaller. I've had to use AMD's removal tool in the past.
Yeah, i had too in the past... MSI GX60 Destroyer , full AMD system, i mean APU A10 + R9 M290X. That Laptop is like 2 years old and by AMD , it is a Legacy, so no newer games on it could be played, no Windows 10 because with it, it tried to install newest drivers etc. MESS ! Dont ever buy APU + GPU AMD Laptops ever ! BTW , Thanks for the info

Always reinstal drivers when putting in a new GPU with DDU
Also disable windows auto driver, that could be the problem too
Ok , one small question, heard alot about DDU messing up windows , how much of a risk is it ?

**side note, has anyone noticed there seems to be one or two of these 1070 issues a day? Is there something going on?
Did you have anything installed previously? If so, did you remove the drivers with DDU? And I'm assuming you've installed the required drivers for this GPU?
** Yeah, i have seen it too
I had a gtx 960 4gb , i just throwed in the 1070 , just worked, but when i googled score charts from heaven on 1070s something was wrong, so iam asking, should i DDU / Reinstall whole Windows ?
EDIT: Because i thought when swapping GPUs and going from nvidia to nvidia, you dont need to actually unninstall drivers.

This is just a wondering I have had a few times, nothing problematic and I do not mind if I don't learn why this happens.
So I have a LG 29UM68-P as primary display on my Desktop as many of you should already know, it is a 60hz monitor that through DisplayPort is overclocked to a perfectly stable 80hz through nVidia's control panel, every thing works perfectly fine at 2560x1080p80hz.
Now I do have one question on why is it that this happens sometimes, the majority of games I play on this display, usually only first personal shooters as third person games I go for the TV + Gamepad, will run without issue while others will show this specific issue, I do not know why exactly, maybe it is the game's engine?
Since I'm playing single player games, campaign games and such the delay does not trouble me at all, so instead of using Fast Sync I more often than not go for the in-game's built V-Sync to handle tearing since it'll reduce my GPU usage, being a GTX 1080 Ti right now I can play games at 2560x1080p80hz max out with still considerable low GPU usage allowing me to keep the FE cooler very silent during gameplay, a win win for me.
Now the issue at hand at last, for example, Tomb Raider 2013, Firewatch and Bioshock Infinite are currently installed games I tested on, in-game V-Sync on, i look up to the ShadowPlay FPS counter and 80fps locked, sweet... now, went to try Prey and this has happened before I just don't remember in which game, I turned V-Sync on and...... 60FPS locked? why so? I really am not understanding why is that a few games when V-Sync is on it goes to 60FPS locked instead of the true monitor's refresh rate of 80hz.
Any ideas any one?
And when you turn Fast Sync on with Prey and turn off V-Sync in game ?

Hi,
So, i bought EVGA GTX 1070 SC2 ICX, and in Unigine Heaven i'm getting score 2272-2305 pts.
Everybody else on Overclocking forum of this GPU is getting like 2500+ scores.
I dont use overclock, but when i did the score wasn't significantly higher. (+50-60 pts)
In games like Shadow of war on ultra 1080p iam getting 90AVG FPS, Witcher 3 60fps 1440p on ultra , 32fps ultra 4k.
I bought it second hand, could it be faulty or something ?
I have it paired with Xeon e3-1270 v3 (i7 4770 equivalent) and 32gb DDR3 on B85M-G from Asus.
Thanks for any info.

You could always DDU in safe mode and reinstall the drivers fresh new.
Well, I'm planning to reinstall my whole system, since it's easy on SSD... i think there is some mining viruses and some shizwaz on my pc, because in Precision XOC , the gpu is pegged on Base clock of GPU and even the VRAM...

Yes it is somewhat normal when the game engine can't use the full extension of the CPU, you should download MSi Afterburner to see your GPU usages with a GPU stressing software like Heaven Benchmark to see if it reaches 99%
Tried that, that's why i was concerned about it , because it did it on 960 aswell, so i thought that gtx 960 is just too slow for this cpu

Hi,
I bought EVGA GTX 1070 SC2 With ICX cooler.
When i test some games , i only get like 40-50% cpu usage,
My CPU is Xeon E3-1270 v3 ( i7-4770 underclocked)
Is that normal ?
