Macronus got a reaction from SaladFingers in Safe temps for HDD's
Its the sensor, I've seen it happen with different kind of hardware.

Macronus reacted to Silyy097 in Safe temps for HDD's
Just to let you guys know, the temps in the 60-70Deg range is actually the "Temperature from 100DegC", not the actual hard disk temp itself. The hard disks temps itself are around 30-40.

Macronus got a reaction from TheRomanSenate in $3400 build about to purchase some last min advice would be nice
You are aware that most of the games especially older ones have 1 or 2 second boost from using a ssh (Csgo) but thats not the point. You really think it fusable for consumers to hold 1, 2, 4, 8, 16 TB of data on SSD's? Even for enterprise that is still costly and in majority of case does not provide what they need.
I'm not saying its the future, but we are living in now. Future is still far ahead.

Macronus reacted to mijhamilt1 in Helped needed!
I did a speed test and I am doing 80 up and 80 down with a single hard connection from my Verizon modem to my computer. If I were to connect 4 Ethernet cables from my modem from Verizon to a 1 gb switch, would my output theoretically be 320 up and 320 down?
thank you,
Mike

Macronus reacted to Djole123 in Memory clock speed different than listed?
Probably the photo is wrong. They are too lazy to capture all the RAM models/speeds
-
Macronus got a reaction from Djole123 in Memory clock speed different than listed?
Oh wow, sorry for overlooking that, you should contact/inquiry Amazon about that product if you are planing on getting it just to be sure now. Someone made a mistake when listing it.

Macronus reacted to Jade in Commands for internet measure
...what? You can't measure an internet connection in percentage because speeds frequently change... and command for what? Linux/bash? Java? C++/C#? Python?

Macronus reacted to Kirky2k15 in What is causing my PC to bottle neck?
Let's see what reaction this gets...
Funny... I'd say the exact opposite... personal preference and largely your own experiences... IMO branding is irrelevant.
Things to consider are:
Price
Warranty/customer service
Features
Aesthetics
Brand
In that order
After all some brands offer better warranties than others...
Mr. Sony had his TV for 6 months and it blew up...
Mr. Matsui had his tv for 10 years and still going strong...
It's all pure luck how long any electronics product will last...
From someone who worked in electronic retail for 7 years...

Macronus got a reaction from Tjubes in Skylake Build Or Haswell ?
I'd definitely go with future proof setup and that is Skylake. If you were upgrading then haswell would be a good option for sure for lower prices and even sometimes better preferences. Going with Skylake now gives you an option to update in the future and have DDR4 now instead of 1-2 years in the future with your next build.
Other then that with the performance and value bang for buck I wouldn't know.

Macronus got a reaction from r1Ns3 in Swiftkey Bought by Microsoft
No that is actually good they are a primarly a Software company it make me much more confident in their products. As a software company they have some really good software under the portofolio like Next Lockscreen and so on. I am much more for open Microsoft that focuses mainly on the software they provide for all the platforms instead of push a new platform in already saturated field!

Macronus got a reaction from Cvdasfg in Best length for this youtube video?
I personally prefer 8/10/15 minutes long videos as they can be watched during any kind of brake, plus gives the content creator a bit more run by spacing them out in few days even thought the actual recording might have been 60 minutes plus gives you ability to cut it down bit in those boring moments
Plus attention span on youtube is decreasing unless you are a loyal fan. With longer videos you might get more fan appreciation but less conversions. Both thing are good but I'd say go with the smaller segments. Try have it ups and down. Have a moment before the intro and leave something funny but not worth the cut at the end after the 'outro'.

Macronus got a reaction from iamdarkyoshi in What's in this file?
It is obfuscated ( http://searchsoftwarequality.techtarget.com/definition/obfuscation ), but I'm more then certain its malicious. Install a VM and try it out.

Macronus got a reaction from sissj in What's in this file?
I was more thinking about a full installation in VMbox or something similar but without as someone body else mentioned internet access.
I personally haven't used sandboxie, so I can't vouch.
BE WARNED.
Googling the link does show that user spammed that link so it is certainly malicious. Please remove the link before someone downloads and runs it.

But disconnect any network drives from the VM
-
Macronus reacted to 2FA in What's in this file?
I opened the link in a VM and it redirects to a website call etsy which apparently is a marketplace for items like antiques, supplies, stuff like that. It also says at the top that the invitation has expired. Likely the scripts install some sort of malware while redirecting to that site as to not seem malicious.
