ExplodingTNT reacted to BiG StroOnZ in Nvidia says 'something super is coming', any guesses?
Only thing that comes to mind is that the RTX 2080 is technically not a fully enabled die or a "full fat" chip. It "only" has 2944 CUDA Cores, whereas the TU104 GPU that the RTX 2080 uses maxes out at 3072 CUDA Cores. So perhaps, they are releasing an RTX 2080 Super with all the TU104 SM's enabled.

While this alone only provides about a 4-5% increase in performance, if it is also coupled with 16GBit/s GDDR6, it could be around 15-17% faster than the RTX 2080 "standard"; this would make it a viable alternative to the 2080 Ti (assuming it is priced competitively) since generally the 2080 Ti is around 20-30% faster than a 2080 (but costing 60%+ more).

There's also the possibility that if this new "Super" 2080 is released (with more CUDA Cores and faster memory), they update the 2080 Ti additionally with the 16GBit/s GDDR6; providing another 10-12% performance increase to it. This then could have the whole Turing stack be shifted, both price and performance wise. Making Turing readily competitive for whatever AMD is planning to debut.

@LinusTechkinda disappointed that you weren't on the show tonight to talk about the NCIX thing, as you (were) probably the highest profile NCIX employee. Do you have any comments to add from your perspective?

Own a Surface Book 2, DDU and reinstall Nvidia drivers seemed to fix it for me. Using Display Driver Uninstaller was the secret sauce to making it work.

There's some great stuff on XDA: https://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6p
Also, the nexus 6p has official Lineage OS downloads: lineageos.org (Lineage OS is the successor to one of the most popular custom roms in android history, Cyangenmod)

Probably because iPhones allow for carriers to control cellular-related settings remotely, I believe they can change things like APNs and other stuff, including the phone's carrier lock status.

Well, in the slides it says "UNDER NDA UNTIL APRIL 1ST, 2017, 9AM EST", so it's either fake or totally official, since it is currently 12:36 AM EST on Saturday, April 1st.

EDIT: I just realized it would be April Fools Day, and the second picture with the picture of the card looks kinda off, with some weird aliasing that probably wouldn't exist on a real photo, so yeah...

Verizon has announced that they will be buying video startup Vessel (used by LTT, among other popular channels) and shutting it down.

I wonder what Linus will think of this...
Well, it's bad for LTT because they won't be able to make money from Vessel subscribers anymore, but it also marks the end of the one-week exclusivity that messed with Youtube viewers.
Well, at least Vessel subs will get refunds...
