Back 4 years ago, i was playing mostly three games: The Witcher 2, Skyrim and GTA V. I will add AC Black Flag as well, and I remember this game was very well optimized on PC, which is a blessing considering Ubisoft history coming to this point.

I spent hundred on hours on each of those games, hell, thousand hours on Skyrim anyway by itself, and i know pretty well how the engine, graphics, looked like. So when i read that
    I laugh really hard, seriously.

Don't assume things because of your own experience. I have the same problem, i just keep playing because i worked hard to pay my hardware, and my games, period. I don't imply to not solve this problem, i'm actually here since the beginning of this post, there even was another one on nvidia forums before.

Whatever this guy says is irrelevant anyway, that have nothing to do with buying expensive rigs to paint cover the problem. I'm simply ignoring him and his corporate capitalists theory.

I said it 4 years ago, i will say it again, it happened overnight for me, that has nothing to do with my eyesight, or electricity. I didn't change any hardware, i didn't buy a new computer, i didn't change anything, it happened suddenly, period. On games i logged hundred of hours. It's not like it appeared gradually, it would have not shock me that bad, just like so many others.

As for happening it on console, tv or smartphones, i don't know, i mean i have an xbox 360 and it's 720p. My tv screen is old af.

It's clearly shaders problem to me, maybe wrong scale too, got no idea. It affects lighting in every game, which render awfully a lot of other graphical aspects.

It's not the AA. Stop with that. It's the lighting that affects those edges, and a broken LOD. You can try SMAA, MSAA, TXAA, TAA, downsampling, 4K, 5K, it's the same, less visible of course the higher the resolution or AA method, but the lighting looks like shit, same as image rendering.

In any semi open or complete open world, day and night is clearly day and night in terms of quality, i have almost little to none aliasing or weird shadows night time, but when i do enter a building or it's sunny lighting, here comes the massacre.

Nobody can explan, nobody can fix it, i always thought it would fix by itself someday, as it appeared overnight on my former laptop,, but i live with it now, and it's been 4 years. And no i didn't change any piece of hardware, neither add one, neither format windows, or use an enb. It was there suddenly, period. Stop repeat the same things over and over.

And ban electricity as well, please. You're going the wrong way.

And you, are you for real ? Those problems started overnight for me, and there were no updates from microsoft or nvidia whatsoever, so stop bragging about them rigging this for gamers to buy expensive hardware, that's ridiculous. Even more ridiculous since it triggered these issues to people buying recent high end gfx and processors.

If he didn't read the last two pages, you didn't read squat from the first post. Nonsense...

As for aliasing and flicker maybe, and i say maybe it always been like this and never really paid attention, but as for draw distance being extremely low on every game, sorry, it's not always been the case. It goes for pop-ins and shadows not rendered properly, that bubble effect rendering everything out of it by a short distance low detailed. That is not normal.

But if you're convinced otherwise good for you, and as I said, this issue is not going to kill my hobby of playing video games, or i would have waste a great deal of money.. and time.

I switched from a ROG laptop with a GTX 860M to a better computer with a GTX 1080Ti, problem remains the same, even thought i can now enjoy gaming in 2K/4K, and to be honest that's good enough for me.

I don't wanna lose my time looking for a solution without knowing where to even start, since it happened suddenly when i booted my laptop one morning, 3 years ago, and tried all i could. I feel bad for people trying to buy new and expensive hardware... and i don't think it's because of electricity either, that's just insane, and would damage more than your rendering.

As annoying as it is, i rather play than complain on something we can't even understand, and someday might fix by itself.

Funny, i started noticing the problem replaying TW2. I actually recorded a video a long time ago showing the magnificent pop-in of vegetation, AA not existing, and shadows being a complete mess, which actually made me figure straight something was off, since this game is a piece of art graphically.

But so many people have this problem different way, i got this after simply booting my computer the next day. I just deal with that crap for 2 years now, don't bother me that much now, but i can understand it pisses people off, buying expensive rigs trying to get rid of it. It really sound crazy thought...

Pretty much what i'm thinking too. Users having the problem who bought a Ryzen gotta test few games, and for few weeks, to see if this "improvement" lasts.

I got the problem too guys, but it really make me feel sad to see you stop gaming because of it. As hard as it was, i actually got used to it. But i respect your dedication trying (and buying) a lot of hardware to find a solution.

You gotta stop bringing this UPS+Stabilizer option, Innex told you already 3 times he tried this with top of the line hardware. If you people have not tried anything else, don't bother posting neither, all you are doing now since at least the last 4 pages is repeating the same thing. Yes it is annoying, for everyone affected by it, no need to push the issue even more.

As I said back few days ago, i'll be going countryside with my laptop, so i could try it in a different house, while i still think it's not gonna change anything. If it actually does, i will record gameplay of several games, then do it back home, to clearly point out all that jazz we are complaining about.

Just play your games, you paid for it (i hope you did), and don't focus too much on the nasty aliasing/pop ins even if it's hard not to.

Yup, the Witcher 3, GTA V, as well as almost every game i have on Steam and Origin. The only ones for now that are actually looking very good are DOOM, Mirror's Edge Catalyst, and Amnesia The Dark Descent, guess it's because it's OpenGL. They don't have that box around the character, which turns everything out sharpened with a weird blur effect, and aliasing 'til you drop. I really appreciate that some people are trying their best (and specially buy specific hardware) to localize the problem, sadly i can't do much, i'm on a laptop. Have to deal with it,  but there must be something that can fix that crap since it's most probably software related. Specially since even watching videos on Youtube or Twitch render the same issues, which is actually really weird, since the guy who's uploading or streaming don't have these issues, or they would rage and asking what the hell is going on. Going to the countryside next month, if its really related to electricity, which i don't think it is, maybe there will be a difference, or fixing by itself. But i'm really skeptical about it.

Gotta agree with you about higher ppi displays. But thing is, i've been since 5 years on 15-inch laptop displays at 1080p native, and it's the first time i see as bad shimmering/aliasing as it can be, but it might be too hard to take notice on a video, even more so on a picture. Games with TXAA feature can get rid of it thought, tried on Splinter Cell Blacklist and AC IV Black Flag.

As for Witcher 2, Witcher 3 pop-in/shadows and such, i really don't know. I'm sure i played both games at first without this issue, but as more patches got released, lod got worse (Witcher 3 for that instance), i notice on some forums that some people had that problem too on Witcher 2, back 5 years ago. Even watching Gopher playthrough of it shows the same popin weirdness, so I really don't know. And no, reinstalling drivers, old or new, don't change a thing, as much as tweaking IG settings, for my case.

Got holidays next week, so I will be able to record some gameplay. I'm replaying since few days Resident Evil 5 at max settings, there's still pop-ins but its way less noticeable than any open (or semi open) world games, and aliasing is still too much pronounced @1080p resolution + 32xCSAA, or x8 AA)

Oh and, here is a video uploaded by a user on the french forum where i'm discussing this issue, he have the same symptoms of bad aliasing and pop ins. He sent his GPU back to the website where he bought it for test, and they claimed everything was normal, so it's definitely not on the GPU side.

Maybe because they really can't see the shimmering and aliasing. Display issue. The only  thing I could actually show was the effed up LOD (and shadows). I might record footages of few games to show why it's not normal to have everything not in 5 meters perimeter popping right on your face. Got plenty of games, old and new, that might do.
