  1. So at work, I have a OptiPlex 7000 12th Gen CPU Intel UHD 770 SFF. https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-uk/product-support/product/optiplex-7000-sff/overview It only accept low profile GPU. All the monitors that I can get can use MST so the GPU doesn't need to have 6 ports as long as it supports MST. Prefer to have regular size DP or HDMI since my work place has tons of those cables. Not so much of miniDP.
  2. I need to get need glasses. Thanks
  3. I am thinking of getting the GPD Pocket 3 with the HDMI KVM. The servers I work with only have VGA out. Can I use any old VGA to HDMI adapter or need to be active? How about HDMI to VGA adapter, are they directional? TIA
  4. I have a problem with NetBIOS on a computer with Realtek NIC. Is Win7 since the application I needed is only on Win7. I used the same Win7 installation HDD with a motherboard that has an Intel NIC and it works. But when I switch the same HDD to a motherboard with a Realtek NIC, it just doesn't work. I tried changing the registry under NetBIOS and NetBT and it doesn't work. Anyone has an insight on this?
  5. Hi I am looking for a bluetooth keyboard with mouse control, can be either touchpad or the nipples. It must be bluetooth, as it will need to work with my tablet. Having a dual mode is a plus Must recharge via usb-c
  6. According to Noctua, it is not enough for 4770K I think the RAM is like 41mm. But the top of the case doesn't have vents. Only the front and the back has vents.
  7. I am getting a iStarUSA D-416 case (http://www.istarusa.com/en/istarusa/products.php?model=D-416). I emailed their support and they said the max height for CPU cooler is 120mm. What will be the best cooler for this height? I will be cooling a liquid metal i7 4770K. Will redo OC afterward. I am thinking about NH-D9L and NH-C14S. Most likely the NH-D9L since it will go with the airflow.
  8. Is there a minimum requirement for the CPU and RAM? I am thinking using an old netbook as one. Most of the time will be only one computer will be download from it and at the most will be two.
  9. I am looking for a $300-ish 2-in-1 Chromebook that has Android support. According to Google page, only these are within spec Lenovo Chromebook C330 ($279) Acer Chromebook R11 (CB5-132T) ($279) HP Chromebook x360 11 G1 ($299) ASUS Chromebook Flip C101 PA ($299) Lenovo Thinkpad 11e Yoga Chromebook ($349) Acer Chromebook Spin 11 (CP311-1H) ($379) I plan to buy it around black friday (Nov 29th) or cyber monday (Dec 2nd) so hopefully the more expensive model get discounted to around $300. If so any recommendations? The requirements are $300-ish 2-in-1 with Android support. I believe most, if not all, chromebook is charge via usb-c. If not, then prefer usb-c charging. Of course bigger screen is welcome but at this price point 11 inches is fine.
  10. Is company's money so they have a lot unlike me where I have so little. Anything under 1500USD they dont usually take a second look. But it seems the only prebuild one that HP has for less than 1500USD is the HP ZBook 14u G5, which is a 14inch
  11. Oh okay. And you wouldnt recommend the hp zbook? According to the spec sheet the HP screen can go to 650nits/700nits (depending on the models) while the XPS 15 only go to 400nits. The screen should be the priority. Cant do work if I cant see what on the screen but it does make a good excuse.
  12. Isn't the XPS line have glossy display? But then the XPS 15 product page said anti-glare. Also is going to work in the sun in the summer. XPS has a tendency of overheating
  13. No more than 6.5lb. dell.com hp.com newegg.com amazon.com
  14. I am looking for a outdoor laptop for my company. So the screen must be as bright as possible (350+nits) and matte screen. 15 (most likely) or 17 inches and 1080p minimum. Battery should be at least 3 to 4 hours with a moderate load like playing an audio files. Weight should be keep to minimum. Budget should not be a problem but keep it as minimum as possible just in case. Prefer Dell or HP as company has preferred account but can open to other. Dont know if possible. Just got this task to find one.
  15. Just slowly move the white part out. Do it side to side a little at a time. The first few times will be really hard, you may think you put too much pressure but you are not.
  16. I have this Cyberpower surge protector for my office data collection computer. We are planning to do a data collection outside in the field. We have this Power Pack and planned to used it with the computer. However, when I tested it today by plugging the surge protector to the powerpack, the surge protector is buzzing. It does not do it when it connected to regular outlet. The surge protector has been using for about an year and a half while the powerpack is recently brought. Is there something with them? Is it safe to use it?
  17. I have a mid 2012 Macbook Air that is having problems. It said the battery is 0% and not charging, but the light on the cable is green. I know the charger is working since it works on a Macbook Pro. I tried resetting SMC and PRAM and made sure there is no debris in the port. The battery has around 550 cycles and according to Apple website it should be around 1000. Is it the problem with the battery or the logic board?
  18. Is really depend on what are you watching. Some have good apps support while some don't. Also do you plan on streaming on TV/projector using the device. Some apps dont allow that.
  19. the blade is 15 inches but you said you dont want more than 14. Aero 14 but they are hard to get. XPS 13 2in1
  20. If you want upgradeability and battery life, go for aero 15x. If not then GS65.
  21. As pasha said, some people have problems with the keyboard. RAM is also an issue if you want to upgrade. Some people on the NBR forum used the RAMs listed on gigabyte's list and still doesnt work. Another problem people complains is the backlight bleed. As Gene said, needs LM, or better repaste, since thin and light dont have enough cooling. btw, I still like the old name better, ZMFong I personally only have the RAM problem. If one stick work in one slot, in theory it should work in the other, but no it doesnt
