  1. Mostly ok with sacrificing form factor, budget can go as high as ~$300 CAD or so. Maybe a bit higher if they are like perfect.
  2. Hello all, My old razer headset is starting to kick the bucket, audio is fading in and out in both ears, they are well over 10 years old now and are falling apart so its time for new ones. Right now I think the SteelSeries Arctis 9 is the only headset that offers the main features I am looking for: - Wireless with 2.4Ghz for PC - Bluetooth for listening to music on my phone or calls(Ideally switching while still connected to the PC) - Some kind of audio out feature from the dongle so it will switch over to my speakers when I turn the headphones off - Ideally retractable mic rather than removable - Noise cancelation isn't really a must but nice. - Minor water resistance would be great Anyone have suggestions? I am having a hard time finding other headsets that include this in their marketing material.
  3. I guess we are returning it. yea the software support is complete garbage. I am looking at: https://www.duckychannel.com.tw/en/Ducky-Shine7 since there doesn't seem to be an easy to access seller for the Leopold Fc900r in canada. @b emoji Is it possible to actually load the RGB profile into the keyboard so the software does not need to run all the time?
  4. I've ordered the Das keyboard if something amazing gets suggested I can return it and order a different one.
  5. That is a cheap(mechanical) keyboard wow. I may suggest them for the next office people are asking me to help them select machines/peripherals for sure! I also want to prove a point with him that its still worth spending a bit of money on computers, he is one of those guys who spent like 5-10k on his first machine for work(back in like 1993 or so...) and was immediately bit the next year with it being outdated by a large margin and now he just refuses to spend much money on a machine. I only recently got him to buy a laptop that costs more than $1k, an XPS15 and he has been happy about that decision.
  6. Hello All, Long story short, my father has been using membrane keyboards for most of his life and constantly complains to me about it when I see him(Always something like... every keyboard I buy turns to crap or just is unreliable) He has a bit of a vendetta against anything "gaming" and so he hasn't really had a good keyboard since the Model M(unfortunately he threw it out) I am looking for the most "Professional" looking keyboard that has a good warranty and uses MX Brown switches (Quieter then reds/blues since he is on the phone a lot) Ideally with just white LEDs, but RGB is fine. Right now I'm looking at maybe a K70 MK1 if I can find one, but so far I have not had much luck finding one that isn't marked up like crazy. o... and a numpad is a MUST Any suggestions? Price doesn't really matter... as long as it's not crazy... Amazon Prime Ideally. I am going to be buying it for him as a random gift, this has gone on long enough. Thanks, Kyle Edit: I just came across the https://www.daskeyboard.com/p/4q-smart-rgb-mechanical-keyboard/ ... think it may be the one, Ill be ordering it later this evening if No one else has better ideas.
  7. Hello All, I have been having trouble finding a USB type C dock for a Razer Blade 15 I just bought(going to delivered tomorrow hopefully) Basically, I need something that can let me hook up(Ideally a single cable) 2 X Display port @ 1440p/144hz(all 3 displays at the same time) 1 X HDMI 1080p/60hz 4 rear USB3 ports + 1 front ideally 1 Ethernet 3.5mm Headphone jack SD card slot(not that important) Right now it feels like I'm going to have to buy a dock that only has one video output and use the mini display port and HDMI port on the laptop as well as the USBC to get this working. If anyone has a link to a magical type C dock that actually will support this that would be great! Thanks, Kyle
  8. Besides the ThinkPad X1 Extreme, do you have any other machines in mind? (Once they are upgraded)
  9. If you order a machine through HIDevolution and upgrade components. Do they ship you the components they remove as well? And If you have any problems with the machine do they provide warranty service then, or are you still stuck the razer? - Canada - Realistically... up to 6k assuming I can sell my current desktop - Basically, everything from fairly basic machine learning tasks to heavy VM useage and general software development. I will often have at least 1 virtual machine going, maybe 2, my workflow benefits from a high core count. Gaming is still something I will do on it, but if it can handle my work it can game just fine. - Lighter the better since I will probably ride my bike downtown with it, honestly if they made a ThinkPad with a 2070 or something id just go with that. - Longer the better, but as long as it can handle 3 hours of light use that's all I need, I will be plugged in mainly. But from a professional standpoint running out of battery just looks bad. Edit: I should clarify, for that 6k CAD I am kinda expecting a 2TB SSD and 64 GB of ram, but for less, I could work with 32. I know I am asking a lot, but I think my budget reflects that I am looking for something that really doesn't compromise on anything.
  10. Hmm, when I had to RMA my MacBook multiple times they cross-shipped each time so I was not without a machine to work on for that time. Same with when my 980Ti died in my desktop a while back with Nvidia. You would think with a company like Razer with their pricing they would also have this level of customer service. But yea, I had a few MSI machines in the past, but no issues so I don't have experience with their customer service.
  11. Did they cross-ship for you? or did they require you to be without a machine for that week?
  12. Hello all, I am considering getting a laptop again, mostly so I can be a little more mobile for work. But I despise having more than one machine to maintain. For a while, the new Razer blade has been the highest on my list, but I have read a crazy number of horror stories about their QC/QA with people essentially ending up with machines with some crippling defect and they will do nothing about it. especially if you do not live in the US, which I do not. I live in the great white north(Canada) I had a Macbook pro... one of the first Retina models and had to RMA that due to image retention even... So I am not hesitant to buy the Razer Blade 15. But I digress, I am looking for the best build quality and hardware money can buy(within reason) Ideally in an incredibly solid unibody metal frame After looking for a while it appears these are my only options and I want to hear from people who have experience with them and if they had issues how good the company actually was about rectifying it without disrupting workflow(cross-ship and such?) Gigabyte AERO 15-X9 / AERO 15-Y9 Gigabyte AORUS 15-X9 MSI GS75 Stealth 8SF/GS75 Stealth 8SG Razer Blade 15 Advanced Full HD 144Hz 2070/2080(Ideally the Mercury white version) System 76 Oryx Pro(Once they upgrade it) If there are any machines I have overlooked please let me know. Thanks, Kyle Edit: I should also say, Ideally something that wouldn't look out of place at a board meeting.
  13. What I think I will do is continue as planned with the 390X, if the price is right for the next generation of GPUs Ill upgrade then, or just wait for the next generation after that to pick up the 1st gen 14nm at a reduced price. Since the 390X should be fine for 1080p gaming for the time being. I was ready to buy a 980Ti, I'm just not too happy about dropping $1,000 on a GPU that may be ridiculously obsolete within 6 months.
  14. I just setup a comparison of my current setup to the two possible options: http://imgur.com/K5hvP00 It barley seems worth it, I was hoping to buy most of the machine now since the CND is doing so badly, and doesn't show any hope of recovering... only getting worse.
  15. Do you think the integrated gpu would be better then what I have right now?
