    Hi there!

Since I'll be sharing my workspace soon I'll be looking for a different keyboard. Currently I have the Razer Blackwidow Chroma V2. I like the tactile switches in this one but they are a bit loud. Especially when you have to work with someone else lol. What is a good keyboard I can change to? Or, should I look for those O rings you put under the keycaps? Before this keyboard I had a Corsair K65 with Cherry MX red. Which I liked but didn't have the clicky feel to it that I was seeking for and the keyboard was too light in my opinion. The main use of the keyboard will be for programming/writing and some gaming.

    Thanks!

For a tactile switch, the browns are tactile but dont have the audible click. Any keyboard with browns will be mechanically clicky, just not audibly clicky.

You missed the first sentence of the quote.

So how is MS supposed to fix DMA if it bypasses the OS...DMA devices are designed to be able to bypass OS items; which is why they have been dangerous for years.  The hardware itself is usually the one that needs to change, DMA devices in general provide a more open window for attack. (Just like how firewire on Macs for a while allowed you full access).  DMA devices are just more dangerous.

In my opinion though, this just seems like an excuse.  Soldered ram and no thunderbolt on consumer laptops to me just says they are making excuses why they won't put it in.

Hi all, Recently i started to dig around the market for some good laptops for programming and general work, and i came across a few laptops, Macbook air/pro, and windows based laptops and i noticed

a weird thing the macbook's costs like 2200$ with I5 and only 8GB of ram unlike the windows based OS which gives you more quality specs for instance I7 with 16GB of ram for only 1400$.

And my question is how's the difference in performance with the windows based OS and the macOS because i heard that the macOS is so much better than windows and it basically gives you more performace

and more long time use for the laptop than other windows OS that has better specs. And do you guys think i should buy a macbook or a windows based laptop and if you can send me a link to something good that you know.

P.S We all can agree that apple's macbooks look way more quality than other laptops and they have better speakers and overall feel in the hand which all those things really matter to me in the laptop.

Oh hear me out, this is what you can do. Get a lenovo yoga 730. 15 inch latoptop, 16gb of ram, an i5 or an i7. Get it with a 512gb ssd.

Next, youll get a wifi card compatible with macos, which some of you might see where i am going with this. The reason why I am recommending it is because I have done it myself and it is good. You will split the ssd into 3 partitions, as followed:
    - 128GB NTFS or FAT32 for Windows Boot
    - 128GB for an OS which I will not name which is possibly made by apple computer inc.

    - 256GB for files which you will use between the two systems.

The reason why I am recommending the yoga 730 is because it has great support for unnamed operating system from apple. Lots of people use it and it has great compatability. If you only want to use unnamed OS from apple, it will work great. If you think this might be a good idea and you get the laptop, you can DM me and I can help you get all setup.

  4. So, before going to bed, I shut down my PC. It has the "Update and Shutdown" button there, and I didn't think much of it. I drifted off into a slumber, relaxed due to the fact that my spring break has come quite early (Covid-19 is peepee and its doing so much harm to my school schedule). I wake up, make some pizza dough, go to Zaxby's, hang out with my gf, get home, build my brother's computer, and then sit down at my desk to finish grinding at the Shattered Web Operation challenges for CS:GO. Hit the power button, select my windows drive, aaaaaannnnddddd "Operating system not found"

    bruh

    Heres my drives:

    Drive 0 - Windows SSD (240GB Kingston)

    Drive 1 - Linux SSD (120GB Crucial)

Drives 2 and 3 - 2 x 1TB Seagate HDDs in Raid 0 (Where my games and personal files are stored)

I have tried booting into linux, that got corrupted between yesterday and today (hmmmmm), tried making a windows recovery tool (doesn't detect shite). Nothing worked. I am currently creating a windows installation flash drive, which will hopefully function correctly, but I wanted to see if anybody had any other ideas of what I can do before this is needed.

I have the 2600 and a similar Mobo (Gigabyte b450) and I think its fine stock. If you want a higher clock speed, you can get up to 3.8Ghz easily in the bios and ive seen some people get over 4GHz on the stock cooler.

so i was planing to go with a 1660 ti strix for my gpu to pair with my ryzen 7 2700x but my frined sudgested i go with a amd gpu im wanting some more input on this because i dont know a lot about AMD gpu's and if i should go for a AMD gpu witch one should i go for?

So the 1660ti is currently $390 online:

    https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-Overclocked-Auto-extreme-Graphics-STRIX-GTX1660TI-O6G-GAMING/dp/B07NHQ5HNW

For the same price, you can get a 5700XT from Powercolor:

    https://pcpartpicker.com/product/68MTwP/xfx-radeon-rx-5700-xt-8-gb-raw-ii-video-card-rx-57xt8off6

According to userbenchmark, the 5700XT is soooo much better. AMD has gotten a lot better with GPUs recently, and they are definitely something to go for. Also, your Ryzen CPU will probably work better with an AMD GPU. I have an RX570, and im more than happy with the performance.

Note: Here is a list of AMD GPUs for the same price if you don't like XFX. Not all of them are 5700XTs, but they are all $390 and below:

I can barely read it to be honest, it's tiny. But I'm going to get a microscope from my dad after I finish work today so I will have a look tonigh and potentially order the part and re-solder.

My main question really is, would this component cause the fluctuation in voltage/clock speeds?

It really depends on what it is, but it definitely could. We'll have to see.

i dont know it wont let me change anything in "memory frequency"

I have the same exact mobo, and I had the same exact problem!. While highlighted over the frequency, you have to type the value in. For example, for 3000 mhz, you would type 30, for 3133, 31, and for 3200, 32. Beware though, as this motherboard doesn't officially go over 2933 mhz, so go with 30. whenever i tried to go over 3000, system would immediately crash

So, I recently reassambled my computer because my CPU-Cooler was Not screwed in thight enough and a few other things. After i was finished I heard a click and it smelled a little burned. That was my RGB-Header but it all appeart to bei fine. When I bootet up my Internet was connectet but did not work. I tried reseting my Network and every rational other fix, I even restored Windows, but my Internet is still not working. Could it be that my Motherboard is broken.

I am using a Network Adapter from TP-Link called Archer T2u, its working fine (tryed it Out in my Notebook). My Motherboard is the AS-Rock B450 M-Pro4.

Please reply as fast as possible I News my PC for school.

    Thanks.

I'm not entirely sure if that would break your motherboard, but it always could.

Try plugging the adapter into another USB port on your computer, like the one for your keyboard. Also, make sure your cpu cooler isn't too tight.

Hi Guys, I am a new user here and hope that you can help me.
I have a Macbook pro 13 2019 and use a usb c Hub from anker (7 in 1 ). My issue is that the cable is too short and I want to extend the cabel. I bought a usb C male to female cable (which says supports thunderbold 3 ) but then my Peripherals wont work so I gave it back to the reseller. is there any cable that could fit my problem

(sorry for my english and grettings from germany )

To do this you would need a male to female *thunderbolt* cable, like this one:

Can you give more information about what phone you are using and what mouse you are using?

  12. Hey everyone, I was a beta tester for ~2 years, and it has help up great. On my old computer, a low end surface pro 3, games held up fine, even on wifi. Getting on an ethernet connection is even better, but 5ghz wifi is still good. Glad to see its finally out of beta and im definitely going to buy it.

    1. Already addressed

    2. No I'm not, but it does seem like the same noise as whenever I had to do that on the old psu.

    3. I know it is my first nice gaming mouse. I got the special edition, because it was ten dollars cheaper and now I'm annoyed cuz it doesn't match the black aesthetic of everything else in my setup.

I think that clicking noise is just your PSU. That click is the sound of a relay opening, so it is probably there to help protect your components if a power surge occurs.

A little while ago I replaced my Powercolor Red Devil RX 5700xt and upgraded my Corsair CX650M to a RM650X, because of some coil whine issues I had. Every since then whenever I shut down/hibernate/sleep my PC the fans rev up and it makes this sound before powering down. Considering my PC hasn't blown up YET, I'm assuming it's not a cause for concern, but I'd like to ask just in case.

    1. Is that clicking sound you pressing a button, or is that the pc doing it.

    2. Are you shutting down with the shutdown button or pressing and holing the power button

    3. Nice mouse, got one of my own just over a month ago ?
