  1. You guys really want governments to have total control over infinitely programmable money? Think about that one for a minute. Nothing good will come of this and it should actively be fought against.
  2. been waiting for monitors like this to come out. As soon as one of those comes out from a reputable manufacturer i'll buy it.
  3. still on 361.91 which is the last driver that is fully stable for gaming and folding for me. Anything newer does not work well with my 980ti sli setup. Was hoping this release would fold properly, oh well. Fortunately i'm not currently playing any games that require sli profiles from newer drivers. They must be too busy getting drivers ready for pascal to put out something that works right now.
  4. works for me. I'll be ready to replace my n6 in the fall.
  5. here are some crappy phone pics i took yesterday. In the middle of another tear down currently. build log here http://www.overclock.net/t/1591335/build-log-the-edge-of-sanity-caselabs-s8-delid-6700k-sli-980tis-ek-bp-ac-and-more/0_20
  6. i live at 10,500ft in elevation on the side of a mountain. My fans move roughly half the volume of air through my rads as i would at sea level. Kinda had to go nuts with rad space to achieve what i wanted.
  7. i doubt it, delidding a cpu voids the warranty. They shouldn't lose any money over it but theres always that person that will attempt rma fraud...
  8. 1320mm of radiator, ek supremacy evo, and all fans at idle. Stress testing on just the cpu might raise my water temp 1c or so with the fans running around 750rpm.
  9. absolutely. There are some other liquid metal compounds that work well with a delid too. Do a little research and you might find one that works a little better than clu.
  10. the tim intel used on the ivy cpus was extra terrible so those results aren't that surprising since you were really pushing it. I got a 18c drop on my 6700k at the same clocks/voltages of 4.7ghz/1.376vc with clu. The amazing thing though are my temps at 1.5v+ and 5ghz. Still in the mid to upper 60s with x264 and upper 60s/low 70s with IBT.
  11. was planning on doing that exact same thing. That thread will never fall off the main page until he makes a new vid with the delid and testing done properly.
  12. yes, but using anything but a liquid metal TIM such as CLU between the die and the ihs basically defeats the purpose. See linus's 6700k delid video and read the comments about how poorly he did it.
  13. i have two 980ti g1s. The first one was awesome. Did 1520mhz on air with very small voltage bump and i live at 10,500ft in elevation where air cooling doesn't work for shit. Could have gone further at sea level for sure. I put it on water and it does 1595mhz. My second g1, pos. 63% asic wouldn't even do 1500mhz on water. Got pissed and put a custom bios on it and it now limits my oc to around 1525. Never bothered to find out what it'd do with the stock bios. Their binning process leaves something to be desired imo. These were my first non evga cards. Will be going back to evga for pascal simply because of their warranty.
  14. You shouldn't make blanket statements that are false. You are correct in that the only people who really should be delidding their processors are those with the means to take advantage of the increased voltage headroom and are willing to accept the risks associated with delidding. And yes, Linus is pandering to his target audience.
