  1. I came across this device, too ! However, for my needs, I largely prefer simply sompromsiing on the "one device" part. It's simpler and way more cost effective. Nevertheless, I should have mentioned it, thanks.
  2. Short answer : Yes ! Long answer : Technically, yes, but the only one I've found costs 800€+. i've been researching into this matter on and off since August 2018, likely around a week of pure time, but I've come up short. What I'm looking for is a single device that has at least 4 HDMI 2.0 inputs, 2 HDMI 2.0 Outputs, and an optical audio output. At a reasonable price, that is. No matter what, I'm always finding myself compromising on at least one of these criteria. The above example is expensive, and does not include an optical audio output. This product checks off all the boxes ... Except HDMI 2.0. However, and I will be verifying this once I get this month's paycheck, I've finally found a setup that only compromises a single, minor criteria : It's TWO devices instead of one. Here they are : Switch/Audio Out Splitter Not many people will need this kind of information now, but I'm putting this here just to have it somewhere in case anyone else is looking.
  3. You could try adjusting the tint in the monitor's settings or in your computer's graphics settings, but that's more of a temporary solution.
  4. Evening ! Earlier this month I posted a thread asking for some advice on an HDMI matrix.. I've lowered my expectations since then, after having bought a matrix that seemed alright, but turned out to work great, but not at the refresh rate I wanted. What I'm looking for is 1 or 2 devices that can collectively switch between at least 4 different HDMI inputs and split that into two different HDMI outputs, Everything has to be able to handle at least 1080p at at least 120Hz. I basically need a matrix that is HDMI1.4 compatible, but the most recent one I tried WAS 1.4, yet WASN'T able to go above 60Hz. I've done more research since then, and there's a LOT of misinformation and inconsistencies. This product looks great ! But then the user manual states that the bandwidth is up to 2.97Gbps ... That's not even enough to do 1080p at 60Hz, so something in the documentation is wrong. I've tired myself out on this, and am thus delegating the task to forum members here. TLDR : Looking for an HDMI setup that can handle 4+ inputs and 2+ outputs, everything @ 1080p+ at 120Hz+. Thank you in advance !
  5. @ Jon, yes it does !. Unfortunately, the matrix and monitor don't. I wouldn't be here asking about them if they did, tbh. I do kinda need HDMI for the setup to be as simple as I want it to be. I can make do with what I have now at 1080 144Hz, which is great and fine. @Glenwing That's basically the limiting factor on this entire thing, so thanks ! I'm guessing it's not really going to happen any time soon ,either ? If they existed, I wouldn't mind using a 4 x 2 DP matrix and adapters, but I'm pretty sure I won't have much luck there.
  6. Evening ! I posted 2.5 years ago when finally making the move form a labtop to a custom assembled desktop computer for advice. I've moved on to having 3 computer screens, a G910 with the keycaps rearranged to be in DVORAK format, more storage that I'd likely need, but still wanting a NAS, ideas for a triple computer setup, wanting/needing more RAM, and, the topic of this post, an HDMI matrix setup. So here's the juice : I recently got a ROG 1440p 144Hz display, looks awesome and smooth you know the deal. Works great, too. I already have an HDMI matrix and all it's cabling set up, too. According to the following forum thread, HDMI 2.0 is needed to support 1440p 144Hz. Therefore, I have a couple of 4th world problems. 1 : I don't think I have any HDMI 2.0 cables. This is fairly easy to remedy and is already shipped. 2 : The monitor's HDMI input is HDMI 1.4. (It has a normal and mini DP 1.2 input that both work.) 3 : The matrix itself is HDMI 1.4. I've done a bunch of research and have found a couple matrixes that should do the trick, but most of them have WAY too many outputs and puts for my 'needs'. They weer, therefore, REALLY expensive. I only need 4 inputs and 2 outputs. There's one candidate that I'm seriously considering, but their single 1 star review on amazon.fr doesn't inspire confidence. https://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B01JKO9CYG/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A1X6FK5RDHNB96&psc=1 Now, I realize I could use an HDMI 2.0 switch into an HDMI splitter, but if the baller technology exists, I want it ! The main problem would come from trying to push 1440p 144Hz from the matrix to the display. I was thinking about an HDMI 2.0 to DP 1.2 adapter, but can't really seem to find anything reputable. Anymays, thanks in advance ! tldr; I need shopping advice/help. 4 x 2 HDMI 2.0 matrix and a HDMI 2.0 to DP 1.2 adapter
  7. Booting without the GPU does the same thing as when I have it in. It does everything normally, except the GPU doesn't work.
  8. Tried this out. Connected my PSU to the case fans to make sure it was actually working, then tried connecting to my GPU. The GPU fans don't turn on, even though the case fans do.
  9. I unfortunately do not, no.
  10. Got all the parts for my first build today. The process went well, put too much thermal gel, like most first builders probably do. At some point, I managed a computer that turned on, but had it's GPU act up. The GPU (or at least it's fans) : 1 Starts normally with other system parts. 2 Doesn't show any video output (tried all ports) 3 Stops abruptly, unlike any other system part. 4 Starts up again a couple of seconds later. 5 Repeat 3,4,5 Unsure what's going on, possibly PSU power shortage ? 11. Project officially disbanded, a friend of mine is helping me and they have the french equivalent of pcpartspicker. (Waaay cheaper shipping and some parts are cheaper.)
  12. I mean, I've already done the groundwork, all that's left is pretty much creating a shitton of verbs to be able to talk about more and more precise stuff. Not sure how strict we should be going off topic, but just to keep things neat, go here to talk about Ækrozæ.
  13. Ækrozæ is a language I am creating out of my own amusement. The main focus of this language is to be simple in conjugation and gramatics, which is done by basing everything off of verbes. There are a few references here and there, mostly in the verbes. For example, the verbs "to be demonlike" and "to be godlike" are both based off of my two best friends' names. I've done next to nothing for the past two years on this language, other than add around 5 verbs. It's boring, compared to doing stuff on the internet, but whenever I don't have the internet, I'd work on this. A note, I've copied this from a post I made 2 years ago, I'm different from then, I'm sure. Ækrozian History : V1 : 11/2009 : Simply a modified latin alphabet I did in a particularly boring french class. V2 : 04/2010 : Pronouns/simple conjugation created V3 : 08/2010 : Punctuation and phrase order created V4 : 10/2010 : Something happened here that I no longer have, it was most likely a change in the alphabet and creation of a few verbs. V5 : 10/2011 : Ækrozæ was named. I consider this the moment Ækrozæ officialy started developpement. V6 : 05/2012 : Alphabet was redone, organized, and simplified. V7 : 07/2012 : First logical/meaningful phrase created. (subject, verb, ect.) V8 : 10/2012 : First logical/meaningful paragraphe created, Alphabet changed (added lettres), Numeriques started. V9 : 03/2013 : Major ideas made, Grand Reorganization I, dates created, conjugation organized, Alphabet organized, pretty much everything was organized. V10: 08/2013 (literaly the day after my birthday) : Creation/Application of "Version Organization (by date)", Alphabet changed (added a lot of lettres, at least 10) Verbs Changed, Conjugation Changed, Created the "Beyond" Tense. Alphabet : The alphabet can be organized in two different ways, phoneticaly and by writing form (what the lettres actually look like : |ah| is a small circle). The writing form will come when I have photocopied a picure of the lettres, as they are not found anywhere on the internet.Phonetically, the lettres are organized in two forms (think of it like upper and lowercase, except the sounds for each are different), then in three groups : Vowels, Consonants, Functional Consonants. Vowels : |Form 1| :: |Form 2| |ah| :: |æh| |ih| :: |eh| |oh| :: |üh/ooh| |uh| :: |euh| |ayh| :: |yh| |awe| :: |e (as if there was an 'r' after the e)| |eeh| :: |eyeh| Consonants : | :: |d| |l| :: |ñ| |f| :: |th| |r| :: |w| |k| :: |krih| |n| :: |m| |p| :: |prih| |t| :: |trih| |j| :: |g Functional Consonants : |h (silent 'h')| :: |hh (hard 'h')| |yih| :: |yihs| |krah| :: |krahs| |v| :: |x/ks| |s| :: |z| |sh| :: |zh (pretty difficult to pronounce this one)| |tsh/ch| :: |tzh| |twawe| :: |twawes| Pronouns : (lettres separated by ' | ') |L|eeh| = Me |L|ooh| = You |L|eyeh| = That (person, like saying him/her, but without gender) |L|oh = Him |L|oeeh| = Her To make any of these plural, add an |x/ks| at the end.|L|eeh|ks| = Usect. Conjugations : Time Related Tenses : Present\Past\Future Concept/Idea Related Tenses : \Passive Adjective\Active Adjective\Passive Feeling\ \Active Feeling\Physical\Objective\Possessive\Beyond\ The difference between Adjective and Feeling is that Adjective is longterm, almost forever.Adjective is saying someone is always a bore, while Feeling is saying someone's currently being boring.Active Feeling can also mean what you do for a living. to teach -> Active Feeling = Teacher Physical tense takes the verb and makes it an interactible object. to habitate -> Physical = House/Habitation, or a Town if plural. Objective is like french's 'Subjontif'. It is the obligation to do something. Beyond is technically a Time Related Tense, but is special because it basically combines past, present, and future into one tense. to luminate -> Beyond = always has, is, and will luminate (somehwat like the sun) [How to conjugate comming soon !] (Basically uses different functional consonants at the end of one (or multiple) verb(s). |krah| is used in present tense) Verb List : Note : This is where a LOT of work needs to be done. There are so many different verbs than mean so many different things, and each one has to integrate into the conjugation system in a unique way, phonetically and meaningfully. It's time-consuming work, and it's the reason why this language is taking so long, other than me working on it around once a month. [Not true since 01/2015] Verbs are organized into two groups : Regular and Irregular, both of which have the same two subgroups : Vowel Ending and Consonant Ending. Each of these four subgroups conjugate differently from each other, but no single group conjugates two different ways, in the same tense, that is. An 'X' marks a Regular verb and a " ^ " marks an Irregular verb. "V" means Vowel Ending and "C" means Consonant ending. '%' means that the opposite meaning of this verb is made by placing |ih|t| in front of the verb, with |ih|t| meaning opposite. Ex : The opposite 'to attack' is 'to defend'. (Not to be confused with the 'contrary'. 'To not love' is not necessarily 'to hate') ^V |s|oh|r|eeh| - to have ^V |s|eeh|k|uh| - to be XV |t|ih|h|uh| - to see XV |b|n|ooh| - to hear ^V |k|ooh|j|eeh| - to touch (reference : kooche koochie koo) ^V |hh|æh|g|oh| - to smell/taste ^V |J|ah|ks|ah|n|eyeh| - to sence/understand %XC |ah|r|g|eh|m| - attack (Reference : argue) %^V |k|eeh|m|ooh| - love (Reference : French slang verb "kiffer", meaning like a lot) %XC |hh|ah|l| - like XV |eh|t|ooh| - desire XV |p|eh|r|ooh| - be able to (can) %XV |k|ah|r|ah| - rush (Reference : 'Kars' go fast) XC |uh|n|ah|ks|J|ih|n| - think %^V |æh|th|eeh|ks|oh| - inspire/imagine (This is one of my internet pseudonyms.) ^V |v|oh|s|uh| - go ^V |v|ah|d|oh|m|eeh| - do %XV |d|eeh| - thanks (Reference : I once said this instead of thanking someone by accident and it made quite a joke.) %^V |æh|s|p|oh| - hope (Reference : Éspoir) (This is one of my internet pseudonyms.) %^V |m|ah|n|d|oh| - play (Reference : Youtube channel 'Mando Media') %^V |v|oh|s|uh| - live/create %XC |z|æh|L| - excite (Reference : zeal) %^V |n|æh|z|uh| - fix/improve %XV |eyeh|k|uh| - hunger (Reference : 'eye'k'andy) %XV |oh|p|æh| - thirst %^V |z|ih|k|ooh| - hunger and thirst %XV |b|ah|k|ah| - demature (Reference : 'baka' means 'idiot' in japanese) %^V |hh|ah|ks|oh|r|ah| - desrestrict/liberate (Reference : Hacker) %XC |eh|t||ooh||m| - fear (Reference : I have a slight fear of tombs) %^V |J|ah|r|ah| - organize (Reference : I somehow find 'jars' very organized.) %^V |n|æ|k|w|oh|m|ah| - comfort (Reference : Resembles name of a comforting friend.) ^V |m|uh|n|t|e|r|n|ah| - mount ^V |v|ah|l|oh| - desend (Reference - A username I vauguely remember having fallen in a very funny way/place) %^V |z|eeh|v|ah| - habitate XV |s|ah|t|oh| - agree XC |oh|f|eeh|tsh| - disagree %XV |ñ|ah|z|æh| - explain %^V |s|eh|d|eh|r|ah| - sleep (Reference : I thought the sand you get in your eyes from sleeping was seeds (sehd) when I was younger) ^V |m|ooh|g|eeh| - count (I think there's a reference here, but I forget it.) 14. Vâhnyomi sounds weird, doesn't it ? (Right clicking suggests Hominy, ) I'm in the process of creating a language called Ækrozæ, and vâhnyomi is simply the infinitive tense for the verb 'to do'. It's not on my 'to do' list, though, it's named this way because it's the closest nice sounding verb to something that 'does things well.' Meh It's my first build, and I've learned a lot just researching into it. Anyways, my build has changed a bit since my initial post, the core components are still less than my €1200 budget. Since I'm being reimbursed for the monitor and keyboard to a certain extent, so I don't count those. Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2016-01-24 03:00 CET+0100 I've made some seemingly standard but precise choices, notably the choice of a SSHD as a secondary drive. When doing research on this build, I came across and have become interested in SSHDs, Hybrid drives. But doing additional research had lead me to the conclusion that SSDs are still generally better for boot drives. I've opted for an interesting alternative. SSD boot drive with a SSHD for general storage. Hybrids cost pretty much the same as HDDs, and seem to only have advantages compared to them. For 4TB : 0.030/GB HDD 0.037/GB SSHD I haven't actually bought the build yet, so tell me if I'm wrong for trying. No ethernet in this room, so wifi's a must, unfortunately. Also I already have a monitor with it's only HDMI slot connected to my WiiU, so I'd like to hook up my build with another cable, and since it has VGA, had to go for a motherboard with it. Really want to know what it's like to own a mechanical keyboard and see how a high fps monitor pleases me, so since I'm being partially reimbursed on those two things, I decided to go a bit more over the top there. DVI-D needed on the motherboard because of this. I got worried, however, that my GPU couldn't handle the extra FPS. I ended up doing too much research into video cards, got worried video cards generally suck, then realized that The Witcher 3 is a good benchmarker BECAUSE it's hard to run. lol Still actually not 100% sure, though.
