    That's just not true.
#1 He'd only have to swap out the CPU instead of having to change out the motherboard and reformat his SSD.
#2 He'd only have to spend one fifth the cost if your suggestion.
#3 Swapping out a 990FX motherboard for an h81 is a massive DOWNGRADE.
#4 The performance benefit is actually quite significant, easily above 30%. This is dictated by math, 8/6 = 1.33, 4/3 (FPU) = 1.33.
#5 Because the 8350 has 4 FPUs instead of 3, gaming performance does scale up with the two additional cores, even if the game doesn't use the 2 additional cores at all.

Go on Reddit's HWSwap. Sell that FX 6300, you should fetch about $60 for it. Grab an FX 8320 from the same place. Should set you back $90. If you have a decent CPU cooler you're pretty much set. And all you spent would've been $30.
With that H100i you're easily looking at 4.8-5.0Ghz.

I don't want to sound rude but in this particular case I just don't think you know enough about this particular subject to make such a statement.
FX CPUs are nothing like Intel CPUs in terms of overclocking, the "lottery" margin is extremely thin, a golden chip would overclock better than a mediocre chip by 200mhz at best on the same cooling. 32nm SOI is just far more overclocking friendly than Intel's 22nm TriGate.
The 990FX Sabertooth has the best VRM cooling and power delivery, second only to the Crosshair V Formula-Z. In fact the highest overclocks achieved on Vishera CPUs were either on Sabertooth or Formula boards.

I know full well what I'm talking about, nothing of what you mentioned above is false. What is false however is your statement that "Greenland gpu will be a Fiji XT with memory and node improvements"
Greenland isn't Fiji, they're two different GPUs.  Just like Hawaii (290 series) and Tahiti (280 series) are two different GPUs.

Greenland as reported by Fudzilla is an entirely new GPU and not a die shrink of Fiji. It will succeed Fiji as the new flagship GPU in 2016. Please edit your post accordingly as it contains false information as it is.

If anyone probably AMD has it now lol, ATI was founded as Array Technology Inc in 1985 and started producing GPU's in 1987 with the release of the EGA Wonder and VGA Wonder card lines. Nvidia wasn't about until 1993

With all of these patent lawsuits, you must wonder who the heck just passes them without bothering even to use common sense, or some reseach to see if that patent is valid or not.
It seems like this patent office or this person just signs it off no matter what the patent is. You can even patent oxygen, just use some fancy terms to it, and it will pass.

This NEVER happened, look up what Nvidia is suing Samsung and Qualcomm over. They don't want them to make and graphics processors at all, because Nvidia claims it exclusively owns the rights to make graphics processing units. I'm not even making this up, please look it up.

This topic is horribly misleading. Samsung AND Qualcomm which is also involved in this did not use any of Nvidia's IP. Nvidia is suing Samsung over fundamental graphics building blocks necessary for any GPU, including AMD's ARM's and Intel's GPUs.  This is the worst kind of patent trolling.

This is from Nvidia's official website !
    http://blogs.nvidia.com/blog/2014/09/04/nvidia-launches-patent-suits/

Nvidia invented NONE of these, these are industry standard fundamental graphics building blocks. They're basically suing Samsung and Qualcomm for building any sort of graphics processor at all ! In fact by this logic AMD can sue Nvidia for the exact same things, since AMD's graphics division which is based on ATi was founded 7 years before Nvidia's inception. That's seven long years of patent filings for fundamental graphics IP. It's like claiming to have patented the letter N in the English language and then suing Samsung and Qualcomm specifically for using it.

There's something deeply disturbing about what Nvidia is doing and people need to know the facts.

I don't think many will opt for refunds but I certainly believe that Nvidia's reputation has been irreversibly damaged by this scandal.
Either way you slice it, it looks awful for Nvidia. Because it either means they deliberately lied bout the specifications of the GTX 970 or that their marketing team is so hopelessly incompetent as to make such an "error". And frankly I don't know which is worse.
