  2. I am using a Display Port to HDMI adapter not DVI. Does this matter?
  3. Hello All, So recently I have acquired a 3rd monitor from my brothers old PC. I wish to set up a 3 way set up however am having trouble doing so. I have had 2 monitors working for over a year but when adding the third and attempt to save the settings it is unable to. I am using a Samsung Sync Master BX2450 as my primary monitor and two older BenQ FP71V monitors as secondary monitors. My graphics card is a MSI R6950 Twin FroZr III. Operating system is Windows 7 Home Premium. When in the windows settings all monitors are detected and working, however when I set the displays to extend or duplicate accross more than 2 it says "Unable to save Display Settings". I have also tried using AMD's Catalyst program and am still unable to do so through that. Now I know that my graphics card supports a multi monitor set up but only using Display Port and 2 legacy ports. So I have used a Mini Display Port to HDMI converter with a HDMI cable for my primary monitors, a HMDI to DVI cable for one secondary monitor and a standard DVI cable for the second. I have also tried using 2 standard DVI cables and that doesn't seem to work either. Is it that all three monitors are not running the same resolution? This is the reason I believe it is not working. Help would be much appreciated. Regards, Sam Alevizopoulos
  4. Well for some reason now it has all sorted itself out and started working again. Im not to sure what was happening, but i completely reset the modem and also updated the router and then everything seemed to work. My theory is that both devices we attempting to assign an address to the connected devices. Thanks all for your help though. Regards, Sam Alevizopoulos
  5. Hello All, So earlier in 2013 I purchased an Asus Wireless AC66U Router and the Asus PCE-AC66 Networking adapter. Now ever since installation into the network there has been various issues with devices losing connection to the network or losing internet access but not network access. Firstly it started with my HTC One which I has set to use both the 2.4GHz and the 5GHz bands. That issue was resolved by simply changing priority to only using the 2.4GHz band. Also arising is the issue of my PC losing connection. The Asus utility software states that the PC is connected to the network, however the Windows networking solution says that there is a "Limited Network Connection" which basically means network access but no network access. This over time eventually resets and I can again use the internet. Lately however I have not been so lucky. My computer has been inaccessible for the last 4 days or so. I have tried updating the router firmware, updating the Network Card Firmware and resetting all devices on the network including the modem and router in an attempt to update all the IP addressing. I assume that the issue is that two devices are being assigned the same external IP which in turn hinders either device from connecting to the Internet. Since then at other random times, other devices have lost connection and unable to access the Internet with the same issue but this usually fixes itself with a reboot of the device. I have run IPCONFIG and all devices seem to have separate IPs yet the affected devices at the time all say that the 'media is disconnected'.. So basically i have come to the conclusion that the root of the problem lies within my PC. Whether that be the network card or something else. I believe it is the connection over the 5GHz band and some sort of interference with that as two device have been triggered with the same issue while using that band. So i plan to connect the computer over Ethernet for a week and see if anything happens. However would one issue from one device trigger a domino effect towards other devices on the network? If so then why have other devices been able to resolve the issue? Does anyone have any ideas as to how i should approach the next phase of troubleshooting? Would be much appreciated. Also to note, when I search my devices on my homegroup it appears to be missing, yet when i type the specific address of the PC I am able to connect through. Weird i know.

  11. Hey everyone! I have been looking at some of the latest and greatest laptops that are coming out to market and have taken the plunge into wanting to buy a Laptop for school. I want it for Word Processing, Web Surfing, Light Gaming and Light Graphics work. Now the computers at school are quite old and anything really would be an improvement but i really want the best that i can get. I want it to be fast, light and sleek. So really an Ultrabook is the way to go. Also to completely harness the Windows 8 experience, it would be great if it was a touch device, Here is something that I have found and so far seems like its going to be the final choice: http://www.asus.com/Notebooks/Superior_Mobility/ASUS_ZENBOOK_Touch_U500VZ/ Also I quite like this from Lenovo (Full Spec, on the right): http://shop.lenovo.com/SEUILibrary/controller/e/web/LenovoPortal/en_US/catalog.workflow:category.details?current-catalog-id=12F0696583E04D86B9B79B0FEC01C087&current-category-id=1A4B81C8AC677A5FB11849005C1752B5&action=init I would love to see what everyone's perspectives and thoughts about these new 'convertible' devices are and would love to get some feedback.
