  1. Mostly wanted to get DOOm and CIV 6 since Id'already played them on my pc and liked them, not sure about DOOM yet but for civ I wouldn't need fast and precise controls anyways. Main reason is since this is going to be my protable machine, much less as a home console. I'll be sure to check out Octopath Traveler, reminds me of SNES era rpgs which is nice.
  2. Hey all, planning ot buy a Nintendo Switch next week, and am making a list of games that I plan on getting, so I'd like to hear some recommendations to fill out my list further. Currently I have: -Zelda BotW -Mario Odyssey -Hollow Knight -Smash Bros Ultimate -Mario Kart 8 -Pokemon shield -Mario maker 2 -Dark Souls remastered (is a maybe, probably gonna check it out on pc first) -DOOM -CIV 6
  3. Yeah agree with Constantin, any of the Pixel 3 devices should suffice (though I'm not an expert so more suggestions are welcome :P)
  4. Like jstudrawa said, too many variables. Like how pcs have bottlenecks, coolers also have them and in this case the fans are the bottleneck holding the water cooler back. If they had put the same noctua fans on all coolers, I'm willing to bet water would have won.
  5. It might support 8K, but no way is it going to run games at that resolution (unless we're talking single color puke textures).
  6. Biggest plus for me in Chrome is that I can just log in/sign up everywhere with my google account. If Edge can do the same and support the same plugins I might actually switch.
  7. You probably have already, but if not I highyl recommend Terraria. Cost a few bucks during sales and you can easily sink hundreds of hours into it.
  8. For 400$ I'd probably get a 2200g with a b series board and skip the gpu to be honest, since you won't be investing money in a dead platform.
  9. Depending on the prcing/deals you can find maybe you're better of with a 570. IIRC it's about 10% slower but you can usually find them way cheaper.
  10. Heads up people, AFAIK the 200GE is NOT overclockable unlike the ryzen cpus.
  11. AFAIK sata drives don't take up pcie lanes. You can get pretty cheap B350/B450 mobos with 6 sata slots so I'd do those.
  12. Yeah best you'll be getting is an igpu or REALLY old dgpu. I bought a 200 ish euro laptop of ebay about a year ago, and that has a 3217u. You can still play things like indie games, and there are even some that will run surprisingly good (I managed to get Dirt rally running on mostly low settings at 720p with 40fps or higher).
  13. I would personally spend a bit more on a Ryzen system tbh since you'll atleast be able to upgrade to zen 2 whilst with a 4770k you've really got nowhere to go with you mobo (and the ram will be unuseable in the next build, whereas ddr4 is looking like it'll stick around for quite a while longer.
  14. Yeah it's definitly not a power problem (or atleast I wouldn't guess that it is). I'm running a 1600 and 470 which should be around the same power budget as you and I'm running a 450W PSU.
  15. Yeah should be fine, I have a 450W psu with a 470 and 1600 which would probably be around the same power budget.
  16. If we do they'll probably be watercooled, similair to this card:
  17. What WereCat said, plus I'm fairly certain the 2060 uses less power. Plus, even though RTX might be useless (right now) it'll probably keep the value higher for when you sell the card later.
  18. The thing with fans is that as you increase them in speed, the less and less useful they become in cooling something. Blower style cards, since they only have one fan, need to pretty much do the work of two fans, meaning they have to spin exceptionally faster than normal ones to reach the same effect in cooling. There's no problem with running fans faster, but you start to make A LOT more noise then what you're gaining in terms of temperature. Nvidia probably limited the fan just to protect your ears. PS. look at the graph in the video, as you can see the amount of heat effectively carried away dimishes drasticly with increasi in air velocity a.k.a. air speed, or in the case of fans rpm speed.
  19. Hey sorry for the late response. I figured how to fix it, I had to go to the sound control panel first, then select my mic, and then I aws able to edit it. Thanks for your help!
  20. Nah it's got no drivers, full on plug and play type.
  21. Hey thanks for the response. I've already read that somehwere, yet sadly those settings also don't save when I change them (aka uncheck them). I am using windows 10. I have a ryzen 1600 cpu, b350 asus board and the mic (blue snowball) is plugged directly into it via usb, and using the onboard audio (no soundcard). If there's anything more you need to know just ask.
  22. Hey everyone, lately in discord my friends noted that my mic sounds like utter trash. Since it's a Blue Snowball I know that it's not amazing, but shouldn't be as terrible as they were describing. After going into my sound settings, going to my mic device properties, clicking additional device properties, and then in advanced I found a setting to adjust the default format, which was apparantly on "telephone quality". However this is where my problems arise. After changing the sound quality setting to anything else I get a message saying: "The device is being used by another application. If you continue, that application may stop working. Do you want to continue?" Even after clicking yes the window closes, and going back into the settings it shows that nothing was changed. I've already shut down discord and other programmes that could use my mic, but I'm still getting the message. Any and all help is appreciated.
  23. Might seem like an obvious question, but do you have V-sync enabled? That would limit your fps to 60.
  24. AFAIK it's only the bottom slot that'll have less pcie lanes. Only thing I can think that would lower performance would be the smaller amount of space for airllow
