Actually won't. At least not very badly.
You can't have better performance if the computer sets on fire.

Like above said, yes. Here are benchmarks to back them up:

mcfloxxx reacted to Low_Battery in Difference between z170 Pro Gaming and z170-a
There are various differences and would be best to just compare their feature set side by side on a site like newegg, or by doing a product comparison on the manufacture's website. In all honesty, the difference are pretty minor, and you probably wouldn't even fully utilize them or notice. For example, one supports slightly faster RAM, different PCI/E slot configuration, audio chipset version, etc etc...
And, yes, USB 3.0 is backwards compatible and 2.0 devices will work on 3.0 ports.

mcfloxxx reacted to tbsgbhrdt in Difference between z170 Pro Gaming and z170-a
Both are REALLY good motherboards (ASUS FTW!). The A has got an additional PCI slot (yes some folks, me included, still use those), the Pro Gaming has got 2 more CPU power phases, the A has got one fan connector more, the Pro GAming has got the better sound chip and 2 USB 3.0 more. I think the Pro Gaming is the better one but those differences are just minor.

The Pro Gamings Sound Chip is a bit better. It has got more capacitors and it't is shielded a bit better. All USB plugs (except type C) are backwards compatible.

Thanks, I think that I will go with the pro gaming because i don't think i am going to use the additional PCIE slot and for Fans I've got the PWM hub included in the NZXT n450. Also it's good to have better sound and you can't do anything wrong with 2 extra USB ports.

mcfloxxx reacted to crystal6tak in Searching for good 650 or 700 Watt PSU
Refer to this thread and this one
Any from tier 1 at the lowest price will be best! (Tier 2 if you're on a budget) Also, you can check JonnyGURU for in depth and thorough PSU reviews.

Big update for you guys
The airbrushing was actually a lot faster than even they thought it would be, and so i already have it back. Yay!
Here's the design i decided to go with.
So there you go. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out overall. Only thing though is the Aperture logo.... Not actually being an Aperture logo? But that ones on me. I apparently forgot to send the picture in the email, so they just looked at my rough sketch with a circle in place of the logo and painted on a circle. No big deal though i actually have some pure black and white Aperture stickers i can put over that and it'll fit right in. If it looks off i could always have it redone but i thought i'd do it this way first so i don't have to pay for it if it looks perfectly fine. Well i hope you enjoyed this update I'm excited for more to come!

Hello again everyone!
So I got some stuff in the mail and I've built the system. Well, at least the first phase of it. So far it has a 5930k, 16gb of DDR4 and a GTX 960. The 960 I bought for another PC in the house, but it's what I'm using until i get my 980's. Everything is just air cooled as of now until i get all the water cooling parts. Well anyways, here you go
That's all for now. Hopefully I'll have another update for you soon! Thank you all for following

mcfloxxx reacted to Mug in Mug's quick suggestions
Just a quick one really. I've been around here for ages, since early 2013 when Linus finally persuaded me to get an account after persistant nagging on the livestream.
As the years went by, I keep noticing the forum getting less and less attractive for veteran users and these are my suggestions for revitalising the forum in a move to preserve its core community.
Off Topic posts should come up in the recent topics box. Sometimes people ask important questions in off topic and sometimes don't get any replies. This doesn't help. Off Topic should become central to the forum rather than an after thought as veteran members like it. Fewer choices in "Forums". Why do we need so many choices? People just get confused and don't put their topics in the right category. Then people don't see the topics because they're only browsing certain subforums. Consolidating them into a few groups would mean that people can get to the posts more easily, resulting in more satisfaction. I'll give you a few examples that you could do that would do no harm and help users of the forum. Everything in Consumer Electronics could easily be merged into one PC Gaming, Condole Gaming, Esports, Star Citizen, Mobile gaming and Looking For Group could be merged into "Gaming" Programming and Programs, apps and Websites could be merged New Builds and Planning, Build Logs and Case Mods could be merged into simply "New Builds, Planning and Mods" Storage Devices and Servers and NAS could be merged into "Storage" Peripherals, Displays and Audio could be merged into "Peripherals" Air and Water Cooling could be merged into "Cooling" That's all really. Thanks.

6700K and 980ti
I think i'll go with the XFX TS 650 because its 80+Gold has enough wattage and the not used cables will live behind the Psu cover in my n450.
Thank you all for helping!

PSU whitelist in my sig is helpful. What sort of system are you powering?

mcfloxxx reacted to Takadi in Searching for good 650 or 700 Watt PSU
Seasonic G650 (650W) or G750 (750W)... 80+ gold fully modular and it's made by Seasonic, so quality is assured. 5 years waranty too i think
