this post is me asking for some advice from server support people. i bought this Xeon E7 8857 v2 12 core beast from ebay with just a bit of research. On the intel support page it says its LGA2011, so i just hit the "buy now button". It is, but LGA 2011 has about 4 variants that are not inter compatible and i did not know it. this specific CPU is LGA 2011-1 (R2). can anyone name a few motherboards that support this socket? i searched everywhere, but again, maybe i'm an idiot just like i was in buying the cpu.

Hi. I've got a Dell E5440 laptop with an i5, 12gb of ram and a patriot 256gb ssd. The issue is this: when i press the power button, the led goes on, the fan spins, but the screen is black for about 25 seconds. Then it posts, loads Windows and everything works brilliantly. I thought the issue is caused by the ram... Tried every combination. Same problem. I thought it's the SSD. Tried a hdd. Same problem. Looked into the BIOS. Loaded defaults. Secure boot off, pre post 0, fast boot on. Same problem. Tried to upgrade the BIOS. From Windows it didn't work. Pressing f12 and trying from there... Didn't work. In Windows it starts the process, restarts, takes a while to post and simply loads Windows. I tried various versions of the bios. Didn't work. I'm out of ideas and dell forums don't help. Any suggestions?

Hi guys, my first post here so please be gentle I'm using a GTX 570 as a main card and i got my hands on a GTX 275 so I thought "why not use it for PhysX". So i did. First i installed the 275 along with all the nvidia software, then the 570 without the PhysX (the 341.92 driver for the 275 and the latest PhysX dont like each other). It all worked well until MS decided to update Win 10. After the reboot i cant get both cards to work as before. Windows automatically disables my 275. Any suggestions?
