  1. Yes, i could reach a stable 4.3, i have not tried to push it further since it started BSOD'ing on me after 4.4. I thought of that as well, seems like the used market in Sweden is kind of "meh", but that sure is an option, I wonder what how the 7700k compares to a 9600k, they are close in price in Sweden.
  2. Hello friend, I've been thinking of upgrading my current build since I've been seeing some less than optimal performance in some games.I feel that the CPU and likely the RAM is bottlenecking the 1080ti, in some games, I'm having a hard time hitting a stable 80-144 FPS in 1440p.Games that don't hit FPS targets / Show low performance*Battlefield V*Assassins creed origins / Odyssey*Hitman 2*Most CPU Intensive gamesCurrent PC: So far I've been thinking about a few ways, those are:1. Buying a new or 8600K/9600k, upgrading my mobo and either trying to OC my ram to 2666Mhz or buying new ram altogether (hard part to upgrade since I purchased the ram back in 2015 for under 60$)2. Trying AMD's 2700x with new Mobo, but I have heard that Ryzen requires high MHz ram to be effective, in that case, I will have to upgrade the ram.3. Open for other suggestions, I know that option 1 and 2 are not the most cost-effective options, therefore, any advice, also I'm afraid that I will spend 700$ for a 20-30% performance increase at best. Thanks,
  3. I thought the test was supposed to run for about 15 secs per restart, it was this unresponsive for about 30 minutes did that happen to you as well? maybe i'm too eager? Quite honestly thinking about that (manually clocking that is) just need to do some research i guess Those are some promising results!
  4. My base clock is 3.5ghz, heard of people getting 4.6 - 4.8 overclocking, im thinking that this must be getting me a bit better performance. Ima call asus today and if this does not pan out i guess ill try it the good 'ol fashion way.
  5. Bought and built a new computer this holiday season, just now had the time to try overclocking my CPU. The specs are: ---------------------------------------------- I5 - 6600k with hyper 212 evo. 16bg ddr4 hyper x 2133mhz Asus z170a EVGA SuperNOVA 750 G2, 750W PSU MSI r9 390x Cooler Master MasterCase Pro 5 ---------------------------------------------- Used the 5-way optimization to try and overclock. the settings are as follows: http://imgur.com/a/1Hd2f The 5 way optimization starts just fine and then restarts my computer, once the computer is rebooted into windows i run in to problems. The whole computer is running super slow, nothing can be opened (programs, start), opened task manager after 5 minutes of loading and found that CPU is running at 100% and can't even reboot using windows, has to press the power button. After reboot into windows again still slow, i have to boot into BIOS and change to default settings (see picture). http://imgur.com/KACyigW Once i restart with default settings and boot up Asus AI3 i get this screen. http://imgur.com/wPZzd3P I know that ya'll will probably laugh about even using 5 way optimization, but does anyone have any ideas as to why this happens? Thankful for any tips and tricks.
