Perhaps this is a nice reference point. This is the pc i'm planning on building the end of this month. https://tweakers.net/gallery/784245/wenslijst/?wish_id=980371 Do note, it's a dutch website. But the prices are in €. But it shows the cheapest prices in the list. And it also gives calculation on the best option to buy the items at certain stores.

Perhaps the one from skunkworks from jay, but it has a hefty price. http://www.caselabs-store.com/magnum-sma8/

The power brick (PSU) converts 220v or 110v AC to 19V ish (mostly sometimes around 10V ish or 13V ish) DC and inside the laptop there are components that can lower the voltage even more when needed ( 5v usb).

i'd like to have 40 PCI lanes for expandability later on extra 1080 and pci based SSD and some extra things later on. And more than 3K for a PC without screen and without peripherals is just to much. and the cables are just because i like the color combo and they are available in the Netherlands. as i mentioned above, i don't want to order stuff from abroad because of warranty and such (and lazy, if i order i want it next day delivered which is the normal delivery rate).

my colorscheme is a bit minimalistic black with some red. the case and MOBO are black, the cablemod kit is zwart/ rood (black/ red) and i will use the LED's on the MOBO and GPU to give is a bit more red. I didn't choose a led strip because i'm not sure i want one. if the LED's on the MOBO and GPU give enough light i.m.o. I won't get one. and the PSU will be covered by the PSU cover of the case.

budget is around 2.5K max 3K. But currently i don't have that kind of money either, but i'm saving and i just started at a new job recently which makes saving a lot easier.

Hey guys, I'm currently planning my build but i would like some suggestions from you guys. This PC is supposed to be a replacement for my laptop, and will be used for programming, gaming and creating 3D models (or create code which generates a model) And i'm limited to a WIFI connection. i'm not able to get a cable to my room. Below is my current selection of parts from http://www.tweakers.net http://verlaak.xyz/pc-parts/ # Product Prijs Subtotaal 1 Intel Core i7-5930K Boxed € 598,90 € 598,90 1 MSI X99A GODLIKE GAMING CARBON € 555,95 € 555,95 1 Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1080 G1 Gaming 8GB € 730,50 € 730,50 1 WD Red WD30EFRX, 3TB € 110,50 € 110,50 1 Corsair Carbide Clear 600C € 139,30 € 139,30 1 Cablemod Corsair AXi, HXi & RM Cable Kit - Zwart/Rood € 92,- € 92,- 1 Corsair Hydro H110i € 126,99 € 126,99 1 Kingston HyperX Fury HX421C14FBK4/32 € 144,99 € 144,99 1 Corsair HX1000i € 204,- € 204,- 1 Samsung 850 EVO 250GB € 91,95 € 91,95 Totaal € 2.795,08 All the hyperlinks go to http://www.tweakers.net which shows a list with prices and shops. Unfortunately it's only in Dutch. Please note i live in the Netherlands and don't want to deal with importing the parst from the US. I hope you guys see something that might be better or you notice something that i missed.

i'm in the process of choosing pc parts for my first build. Not sure if i should save for an i7 -4790K ish cpu or save a WHOLE lot for x99. Currently i'm playing games on my laptop can't even play gta 4 because of weird glitch with my HD7670M but i'm able to play cities: skylines on high (cpu intensive). So to win a gpu would help a lot.

I need a new keyboard because i only have the integrated keyboard in my hp g6 laptop

I have the 840 120 GB ssd and a 750GB hdd and my ssd is full with only windows and visual studio 2015 (6GB free). So i recommend a 240 / 250 GB ssd as primary (for windows and some read intensive software).

Perhaps this one? it's 750 Watt for around 64 USD http://pcpartpicker.com/part/corsair-power-supply-cx750m or this evga 750 watt PSU for around 70 USD http://pcpartpicker.com/part/evga-power-supply-110b10750vr

I'd like to see a review of the msi x99a godlike. https://www.msi.com/product/motherboard/X99A-GODLIKE-GAMING.html it looks awesome, has a lot of features, and the ability of using the 2 gigabit lan and wifi as 1 connection with the DOUBLE SHOT-X3 PRO function. and the audio capability's -
Dual Socket Motherboard for Gaming?
dinnozo replied to arleslie's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
i don't know what kind of socket your machine has but i found this lga 2011 dual socket MOBo https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Z9PED8_WS/ In the netherlands it starts @ 458,- euro and supports 4 xay sli / crossfire " 4-Way SLI™ and Quad-GPU CrossFireX™ Support Both SLI™ and CrossfireX™ architectures work flawlessly on the new Z9PE-D8 WS motherboard, with PCI Express slots designed to accommodate the power of up to four graphics cards. Whether for professional graphics work, heavy duty multimedia or dedicated gaming, more than ample graphics power can be applied whenever needed. " -
Now we need 1 gamer 7 GPU's. No VM's, pure performance. All 28 cores, 256 GB RAM, 7 GPU's on 1 windows install then play 4K. To bad the machine was dissasembled.
