  1. AAA Gaming? Emulators? Indie games? And oh shit, I thought you mean won't upgrade until HE dies, not something dies. My bad.
  2. You don't say what the person is using the computer for, but if they're never upgrading then it's probably basic surfing and spreadsheets. So based on that, you're aiming for a low-end, super basic "future-proofed" pc. Ranked the most important parts are: SSD Monitor CPU (Ryzen is exploding the market so prob worth it to wait) RAM (b/c Chrome and millions of tabs) Keyboard and mouse PSU Case GPU if any ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  3. The paper thin LG W7 Series TV used a concept I've been thinking about for a while: external display sans mobo (or nearly) connected to a beefier cpu kept somewhere easier. Basically a backpack pc with a tethered handheld touchscreen. But crazy ideas aside, What are the cable specs for the tether between the display and the soundbar/PC? Better or worse than thunderbolt 3 in terms of speed and bandwidth?
  4. Just put a blanket over your hands. If you don't have it memorized you could sketch up or print out a picture of your keyboard. So yeah bundling up and maybe doing some fitness training would definitely warm you up. Also there are those hand warmer packets that are a chemical reaction so probably not banned.
  5. These are basically quotes the from the references in the videos. Non Tech as in the amazon things people bought through their affiliate link. Shill Quickie would basically be a joke, but make them money. Do I need to put quotation marks around honest and reviews?
  6. LMG has talked about making new channels in the past month, so I figured that a thread to vote and organize the ideas was in order. I'll update this post after we have a few ideas. Or before. We'll see. Suggested Channels Honest Tech Reviews: Quickly unbox it and give a quick honest impression no BS exact opposite of Shill Quickie. Where they just point out some obviously bad and good parts and show how it was packaged. Source: WAN show via michaelocarroll007 Shill Quickie: Reading exactly what the company wants LMG to say with zero actual opinion to purely make money. Source: (https://youtu.be/HdDnpXRh29s) Not Tech Stuff: A place for LMG to post videos that wouldn't fit under CSF and not piss off subs of the main channel. Source: (https://youtu.be/227fgWPPPNU) Video Gaming Channel: Kinda CSF, but 95% gaming, not like 1 battlecouch episode every 3 weeks. 7. Is there a GIS group or thread somewhere on here?

Yeah I actually posted here because of that one post.  I've used stackoverflow but haven't seen too much in terms of hardware, macros and peripherals.

Well, for hardware its really close with 3D rendering. Except you gain from more RAM and fast drive for files. Macos idk, I'm thinking of learning Python as it seems I'll be using more GIS software in future. Peripherals is also kinda hard.

Python is definitely the way to go.  Be warned that ArcPy is a little different though, so after you learn one you have to adjust to the other.  I wish I could experiment with the CAD mouses, but they're pricey to experiment with.

  8. Hey DutchTexan, I don't want to cause a flame war because it's literally over in <a week, but do you have pictures of that of him with prominent activist leaders of the Asian Indian community, Muslim community, LGBT community, Hispanic community, or American Indian community? I don't love Hillary, but I don't think getting support from the KKK is a good sign and I want a President that doesn't like so much of the US population.
  9. A good point mentioned in the comments is that a separate channel could offer the less Tech or PC related stuff without enraging the trolls/hoards. Lol Though honestly I watch everything, including the non official LTT channels.
  10. This sounds like a good idea, but I don't see any real prototypes on the page. I could see this being real if it was only had bone conductive bluetooth headphones integrated into glasses, but it's unlikely that they could fit this, a microphone and fitness tracker tech into a pair of glasses. And that's not including the battery to power all of this. Though I would not be against IRL gargoyles from snowcrash by any means.
  11. I've been watching the Know lately on youtube, they use RoosterTeeth.com which could work as a vessel alternative. I know it's a separate media group but from what I can tell they're hosting others too. edit: maybe they aren't hosting beyond their huge group idk..
  12. Aux is best for analog, but headphone jack would work too for the mixer I just shared. The cheaper way would be to use a mini-usb to usb cable like this video shows. Or just do as ByAlexadnr says and plug an analog cable from the aux to your pc's line in.
  13. What's your amp model? Pretty much every amp has a line out of some sort be it RCA, 1/4", 1/8" or XLR. I'd recommend an unpowered mixer because they're cheaper and you don't really need a big expensive one. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00102XUX6/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Though you could have a send from the amp to your computer...
  14. Breaks and bruising never hurt me that much, but I'm pretty sure that you can't tell the difference without x-rays. I'll look up how to do it at home lol one sec. http://www.popsci.com/diy/article/2012-04/you-built-what-portable-x-ray-machine http://www.sciencebuddies.org/science-fair-projects/project_ideas/Phys_p083.shtml http://technabob.com/blog/2012/01/02/diy-x-ray-machine/
