Dioneyesos got a reaction from Mister Woof in Safe overclock?
I'm not sure how much power mine uses. But if I'm being honest, I don't care. I know my setup (got 3 monitors and a bunch of speakers & a amp connected) will use a lot of power. But I live with my parents so I'm not the one paying for is  Maybe when I'm a bit older and move into my own place I'll be more careful with how much power everything consumes but probably not ?

yup fan curve is on silent, takes a bit before the fans start ramping up. And I might have done a little more then just YT, no gaming or anything heavy though cuz was through remote desktop and I don't know if you've ever tried it but it's not great. And that is if you can get your game to launch on a remote display adapter.
Mounting pressure should be good, with 78C I don't think there is a cooling issue if you consider what cpu is being cooled

To put into perspective, I have mine at 5ghz 24/7 at 1.355v.

At idle, it's still at 5ghz but it's doing nothing and according to hwinfo, is only doing around 33w.

With a killowatt meter at the wall, at idle with my whole power strip (3 monitors + accessories) total wattage is around 140.

So at idle even at 5ghz there's not a whole lot of power going through it.

Just to add to the good vibes... I run 5GHz at 1.32v, haven been for almost a year.

I've used the Auto OC feature that only boosts to 5GHz on all cores when under load, and also a static 5GHz.  Either way is fine for the chip when running those temps and voltages.

The issue was very specific to other software installed on my PC but I'll explain how I fixed it anyway.

It was trying to stream through a virtual network adaptor that ran to virtual bot so I changed it back to my Ethernet card that I normally use.

I have both the LG 34UM68-P and 2x LG 27MP68HM-P. Both models run 60Hz default and are both IPS. I have them overclocked to 75Hz and this is absolutely fine. I've never noticed any ghosting whatsoever. I must admit that I normally don't game on either of the 27" but I do watch movies and other videos on them, would have noticed something if it was ghosting. When moving the cursor around the trail is really short maybe not compared to a 144Hz, 1ms panel but I'm happy. I would defiantly check them out. I know they are a bit older so you might have a hard time finding them for the right price.

You're not taking the calculation into account.
11 Mbps is 11 000 000 bits per second. Now let's divide it by 8 to get it in Bytes per second. 1.375.000. Now let's get KiB/s from that by dividing by 1024. 1342,77 KiB/s.
    Now, to get MiB/s divide by 1024. That's right, 1,311 MiB/s.
Guess what, you're using your full speed you can get, and while doing so the surfing becomes impossible for the others on the network.

Dioneyesos reacted to BiG StroOnZ in windows update? or cooked MB and CPU
Generally speaking, anything over 1.4v daily is really pushing it for pretty much any Intel CPU. Trust me I know... this 2600k used to do 5.0GHz @ 1.425v daily, now it does 4.4GHz @ 1.3v daily and literally nothing else higher, no matter what, regardless of voltage.

As for the GPU, try a different PCI-E Slot.

This sounds familiar. Too familiar ?
I agree with @BiG StroOnZ try overvolting at stock speeds. Or even at lower then stock speeds. If you can get it stable, you know where the problem is

I'm just reading that it might be because of a custom Windows theme.
    1. Open the Settings app and navigate to the Personalizationsection.
    2. Pick Themes from the menu on the left. In the right pane, select Windows from the list of available themes.

Check writeback cache. If its disabled, enable it, if it's enabled, disable it. See if that helps.

I think the IRST is a good option, not slow, updated (also security) and a good compromise I think

Yeah you are right. Anyways both of these options are wayyy better than the 30K IOPS I was getting earlier and there is a difference that I felt between 30K and 67K. Not so much with 67K and 82K. So I am thinking of going with the IRST driver just for the added stability it might bring. Thanks @Dioneyesos for helping me out. I really do appreciate it. Anymore suggestions from anyone are welcome.

    I don't believe there's any 1080p60hz monitors that features G-Sync.

If you have a decent computer with a GTX 1660 Ti on it you're likely not to need G-Sync either ways, just play your games with V-Sync Triple Buffered.

Regarding the monitor itself, this is the entry level stuff nowadays, buy any that uses IPS panel and you'll be fine.

I would go with which ever feels faster. To me IOPS don't mean a lot. I just want everything to run smooth, stable and as fast as possible. And if that means running a driver from 2006, so be it ?
For battery life, I don't think you will notice the difference, if there is any at all

You can undervolt the CPU. Repasting helps more though, Asus isn't known for good factory thermal paste.

I'm not sure, but to me that sounds like something on your mobo isn't right... At first I was thinking PSU, but you mentioned you tried a different one so that can't be it (assuming that one works okay) I have to be really honest here, not sure how you could check if it's the mobo without testing a completely different one and placing everything on the other board...
