Yeah I had not known of any issues with this lens model at the time I was looking at this copy of it and just by being unsure made me back out of purchasing. After going home and researching it, it does appear that others had the same issue and is involved with the focus assembly and quoted a repair tag just as much as yours.

In a sense, it's similar to seeing HDD failure rates where Seagate tends to come out on top as they are the most popular due to their $/GB. I have a 6DMkII, 1DXII, 5DSr and a 7DMk.II and I haven't had them break. I have seen a broken 70-200mm f/4L IS USM where the manual focus ring does not work when bringing the focus closer when I was in the process of buying it used and took a hard no on it as the seller was trying to say it wasn't broken. As @vf1000ride said, these are precision instruments that don't take drops/falls without really screwing something up internally.

What is using my RAM???!!
CommanderAlex replied to agent z's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
You're playing a game that is clearly taking about 8GB already. What does the system use when you first start up or let the PC idle without any programs open? That is most likely the rest of the other 8GB being used by the system and other programs. -
Try going into the BIOS and enable XMP/DOCP to get them to run at 3200MHz. If this doesn't work and your BIOS hasn't been updated in awhile, try updating the BIOS to the latest non-Beta version and then try to enable XMP/DOCP as updating the BIOS helps improve memory stability.

That's part of the problem. Ryzen favors higher memory frequencies so the system will feel snappier and can increase performance. What RAM stick configuration are you running and what is the RAM kit rated for in terms of frequency? i.e 32GB 2x16GB DDR4-3200 Corsair Vengeance or Crucial Ballistix etc etc.

In general, Internships are worth more than a college diploma. With community college, you're looking at spending 3-4 times less on a semester of tuition from CC versus a 4-year institution. Keep in mind loans are not the only option to pay for college, with scholarships and grants helping. States also tend to have programs to pay for tuition at a community college while the student only has to pay for the fees and books. Getting a part time job helps pay for college too if you didn't know that. Going into a humanities major is not worth it for anyone since they pay less than any STEM field will ever.

Community college is always a great choice to start...that's where I went first and transferred to a four year institution. Significantly cheaper than if I directly went to a four year institution after high school.

Yeah I'm basing it off of when the product support ended by Amazon on Jan 5 2024, so that tells me purchase date was Jan 5 2021 (since OP stated it was purchased then as well and if it's only two years of product support, well it can't have been purchased in 2021 then!).
-
Warranty checker is kinda worthless if the manufacturer requests a proof of purchase receipt and if he purchased it January 5, 2021 (since Amazon only provided 2 years of support which will be from the date of purchase...meaning it expired January 5, 2023), then they are out of warranty as ASUS manufacturer warranty of 3 years passed on January 5, 2024. The OP is then SOL.

Whether that is illegal or not, I can't see the picture besides it being deceptive.

That really sucks to hear it's defective: especially that avatar cooler which looks sick imo. I cannot believe that AMD won't warranty the card. Maybe @LinusTech can help you out?

Uninstall through Control Panel or Settings application on Windows.

Technically, wiping is the best case scenario to ensure no driver conflict from the previous system on the OS. However, you should be fine by uninstalling all previous Intel motherboard drivers and installing the new drivers for the AMD motherboard.

You're gonna have to tear down the PC and determine if there are any burnt connectors or burnt marks on PCBs (printed circuit boards) such as the motherboard, graphics card (at least on the back where the backplate would be). Use your nose and waft your hand through the air the smell (as if your smelling cooked food) on each component to try and pinpoint where the smell, and possibly damage, is located. Also, please be sure to use the quote button located at the bottom left corner of a post so that we know you replied.
