  1. honestly, I would pass on it and just get something more trustworthy but in the end it's your call
  2. Your memory will be working at 2133 instead of 2400. If it's cheaper go with a slower ram or upgrade your board for something faster.
  3. 500 watts should be more than enough, you should probably go with either EVGA or Corsair since a bad power supply can ruin your whole system, don't cheap out but don't get more than you need
  4. FIrst of, welcome to the forum. Secondly, that's way more info than we really need to be honest. Just listing the CPU, Ram, and Model should be enough also your budget and location, which I assume is Canada. I'll show you: Windows 10 Home HP-Pavilion Processor Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz (RAM) 6.00 GB under $150 CAD Just so that in the future you don't have to write that all out. here, try this http://www.ncix.com/detail/gigabyte-geforce-gtx-750-ti-3b-116410-1209.htm from NCIX a canadian company
  5. LTT made a video and proved that it doesn't really matter how you spread it, it all pretty much comes out the same performance-wise, just don't put too little on it.
  6. you could try setting up a network server like a NAS. You could use unraid or freenas
  7. it shouldn't hurt it but you'll be limited to the slower speed
  8. I have a 16GB rig that I use to run VMs but I have one with 8GB even with the 16GB rig, I don't usually get over 8 if I'm not running a VM
  9. I'm curious how internet factors into this. Isn't it all locally connected?
  10. It would probably be better to use teh PCIe ports if you're going to go SLI, this way you can use a bridge and connect them both together
  11. It's usually better to upgrade rather than SLI due to compatibility issues with games and such. Might I suggest a 390x or 980ti?
  12. check your connections and make sure everything is seated properly
  13. Us PCpartpicker.com, it will help. Also budget and location/
  14. I don't think it would be too hard to program a computer to better use it's resources in a game. I have little knowledge of coding but I would assume you would just give it instructions on what the best move would be based on what the user could do and get it to think maybe 5 steps ahead or something.
  15. You might be able to find something on Kinguin but I can't say for sure
  16. Hey forum, So I just got a free T3400 from work. It's got an Intel Core 2 Duo 4600 Processor, LGA 775 socket, 8GB of RAM, Quadro 600, and it looks like it has PCIex16. I'm debating what I should use it for, I was thinking of making it a file server or throw a semi-decent GPU card in it for folding or Boinc. I might also upgrade the CPU, and GPU, if so, any recommendations on what I should get? Thanks for the help
  17. I use Nexus mods, they are easy to install, I only have 10 or so activated atm so I can't say what 100 or 150 will look like.
  18. It's useful if you like to watch videos and such but for gaming I would go with an actual monitor to give you less lag.
  19. Does task manager show what's using all the ram?
  20. Check and make sure the CPU cooler is making full contact and if it's been a while, replacing the thermal paste never hurts
  21. My computer drops the internet connection when it's asleep so that doesn't work well, I just lock it locally then unlock it when I'm using it. The program also locks it when you disconnect.
  22. 2500?! there are 11 people who dropped 2,500 dollars on this, wtf
  23. RDP? Teamviewer is pretty cool there's an android app and I'm sure Ios app as well. Can't power it on though, might be able to do a wake on lan though. But teamviewer is nice, check it out.
  24. still, they're a part of the internet as much as nobody wants to include them.
