  1. I've got a Dell Inspiron 7000 series, I've got an i5 but there were offers for an i7 and it came with 16GB of RAM but I just bought another 8GB stick and stuck it in there. It has a spot for a hdd or ssd and then another spot for an m.2 card so you could go with a hard drive for big data storage and the m.2 for stuff you need to go fast. And it has a 4GB discrete GTX 960. I haven't run any performance tests but it works good for me and I haven't run into any issues with the games I play so far and it works good for school. It cost me about $700 back during black friday. Here's one that might fit your needs: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B015PZ0EHS/ref=twister_B016VLEM5K?th=1
  2. I haven't been here for a couple months so I might have missed something but what's up with the price of the SanDisk Ultra 128GB USB 3.0 (link: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/sandisk-ultra-128gb-usb-3-0-flash-drive-black/9044257.p?skuId=9044257) It's $120! I bought it for $30 back in March. Why the 4x increase in price? Anyone know?
  3. I've seen some sites that sell game keys sell xbox live memberships. I got a 13 (or was it 15) month membership for about $43.
  4. Hey guys, it's been awhile since i've visited the forums but I recently got a Dell Poweredge R610 from my work as they were being decommissioned. It's got two Xeon E560 CPUs and 32GB of RAM. It's only got 900GB right now running off 3 300GB SAS drives ( I plan on upgrading storage later when I have the money). I just sort of took it because it was free and now I'm wondering what I should do with it. I don't need a media server, I've got a USB for that. I can't think of any use for it right now. Anybody have any suggestions as to what I can do with it? I would Fold on it but I still live with my parents right now so overall uptime is going to be limited. Thanks in advance!
  5. Cluster computing isn't really supported with F@H because it's already a cluster computing project. I've been told that there isn't a way to set it up as a cluster for folding.
  6. For personal use, it might not be worth it. Up until last year, I was using office 99 without any problems. I have office 2013 at home and 2016 at work and I don't notice any difference so I think the same could probably be said about 2010-2016.
  7. I personally reccomend the surface book only because the keyboard that comes with it feels more natural than one for a SP4, and it includes an extra battery in the keyboard as well as the tablet. plus it can be detached to use as a tablet if needed. I think Linus did a review on it and he said he liked it.
  8. Have you tried uninstalling the client? Also what graphics card and driver are you using? There was a post I just read about adriver for nvidia, something like 364.xxx that was causing performance issues. That could be it
  9. I'd say go for it, if you're looking for a good dell screen, these are high quality ones
  10. The 1241 outperforms the 1231 but not by much and it seems like the price difference makes the 1231 worth more, performance for cost wise. http://cpuboss.com/cpus/Intel-Xeon-E3-1241-v3-vs-Intel-Xeon-E3-1231-v3
  11. We use the U21414H in my office an we haven't had issues with any of them so far. I think they might be over your budget though, last I checked they were like 349 I think but it might be like 299 now EDIT:I really should to research before I post this, they're selling on newegg for 289 EDIT 2: Edited my edit
  12. Back it up just to be safe. It's always nice to have a back up drive that is connected to your computer only when you do a backup
  13. I'm from southern NH which is the the north eastern US, It's not bad, not too hot, not too cold but we only have three seasons, winter, pothole and construction season. It's pretty hilly and home to Mt. Washington, where the fastest wind speed on Earth was recorded in 1934 at 231 miles per hour(371 Km/h).
  14. I'm not endorsing it but... online, nobody knows how old you truly are
  15. game where you become the pokemon, do you mean like mystery dungeon?
  16. Yea, there's a way, I was able to do it on windows 7 by installing a program but unfortunately that's all I can do, it's been a while since i had win 7 and have forgotten what it's called
  17. Wouldn't it be in our best interest for the FCC to regulate rates this way they can't charge an obscene amount for something simple? So by passing this law, they would be able to do just that and the FCC wouldn't be able to do anything about it? I just need this clairfied.
  18. Thanks for the tag @tobben, Final 11,565,520 Initial 10,756,939 Difference: 808,581 I hope this was helpful. Good luck on the project
  19. did someone say VR world? -Matrix intensifies- I'm not even sure if that's relevant, I do think that PCPartpicker will tell you if a radiator or cpu cooler won't fit in the case, but I can't say for certain
  20. I actually thought you were going to build a computer aided design pc and use it to play WoW...I guess a r9 380 or 390 with an I5 would work
  21. I can't say for sure, my experience is limited with PSU but if PCPartpicker says it'll only use 712 watts, 850 should be good too. I wouldn't go for a 750 though, that's really pushing it
  22. either way, 1000 Watts should be more than enough for two GPU and a bit of overclocking
  23. Dude, that double post though. I would wait for pascal to be released and then grab a 980 ti SLI. You should be good for a couple years, even if you go for VR
