  1. 16:9 is still a standard for YouTube. Unless you're Brandon and really want to go crazy at 1.85:1. 16:9 is just fine for most folks. Especially if you're casting on TVs, phones and yes most computers.
  2. That's kinda what I was figuring. I was hoping for a 3rd party that made weights for them.
  3. I'm wondering (aside from rigging up something like washers) that would allow me to increase the weight in the Corsair M65. right now it seems super light (to me) and just seems to glide on all surfaces. I've done some searching and I'm having a hard time finding anything. Thank you in advanced.
  4. With reference to my images, it shows virtually a 100 dollar difference on the HGST and virtually a $60 difference on the Seagate. I'm wondering if it's my area then. Did your pricing come up differently?
  5. Good Day all, As I'm searching for another HDD for my custom build I find it interesting the pricing difference between 6TB & 8TB. I've attached a couple of images of the current (07-18-2017) as well as links. Can anyone explain this pricing difference or redirect me as to why. (I'm thinking this has to do with the platters but I may be wrong.) I'm a film major and (until I can afford to build a NAS) would like as much storage as possible and I'm just curious. Greatly appropriate your responses in advanced. 6. This is what I originally found via newegg. https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824025512&cm_re=4k_60hz_27_inch-_-24-025-512-_-Product
  7. I'm in search of a 4K 60hz 27" panel with VESA mount comparability and either G sync for Free sync. I'm a Films and Media major and I edit video a lot. I would prefer something that is fairly easy to color calibrate (I understand at 400 I'm not getting something good out of the box) $400ish USD would be preferred max no more than $450 USD. Thank you in advanced for your suggestions.
  8. My parents will not mind waiting on transfers or back ups. Mostly (again until they find a need to do live transcoding over a network via emit or plex) it will simply be used for basic home file storage and a little redundancy. They have some pretty important files that they have been Storeing in file cabins yes but have needed access to when they have been out of town.
  9. I'm looking to build a very cheap (if it could be 350 or less) NAS box for my parents. This box does not need to have transcoding capabilities (yet, but something that would be scalable in the future would be preferred as my parents are slowly getting into the digital age.) The main need is storage (probably 3-4TB x2 with some form of redundancy or fail over. Items that will be stored will be anything from old 90s home video to taxes to some pictures. I've been looking into freenas however if you see a better OS to use, any and all suggestions would be appreciated.
  10. I'm looking to build myself a NAS for storing video files kind of like how LMG has the vault. Mostly for inactive projects, but something that I can scale upwards in the future. Also I'm a college student, and the smaller, the better. It can be bigger than a normal PC tower case, but preferably no larger. Any suggestions?
  11. 8 is okay for now. But I always recommend 16 or 32 DDR4 anymore.
  12. I'm definitely a multi OS person. I am currently on a 13" Macbook Pro, and I love it. Powerful enough for what I do, and light enough I can't even tell if it is in my bag. However I am getting ready to build a editing machine and I will be placing Windows 10, 8.1 maybe? Regardless, I work with Windows as well, and I almost prefer windows more for editing simply because of the file directory.
  13. So I saw this video from Unbox Therapy and it really had me thinking about mobile secondary displays. I really like this idea. however in the video when he is moving windows around you can see there is a little bit of lag. How hard is it to create a system that doesn't have to run through a stupid iOS app to make an external display. I feel that this is stupid on Apples part as they could make some serious dollar by people purchasing two or three as a lot of people have MacBook for editing or graphic design. I don't know about solutions on the other plateforms. Feel free to let me know, I love learning about this stuff.
  14. Hello all. I am a college student, so space is limited. I edit videos almost daily and I am looking for a 24" panel with either a higher than 1080p resolution, or a different form factor. Do you have any recommendations?
